We had an event here for the kids on a Sunday morning at 10a. We weren't sure whether there would be other parties or events going on so we chanced not making any reservations for the main covered sitting area. With our luck, we were the only big party there! There were a few families but not crowded at all. There are several sitting areas that are covered which are a free for all and a large covered table which I believe you need to make a reservation with the city. (I did email the city but no response.) There are 2 playground areas. One of which is a toddler area and the other structure is for bigger kids. The park is clean, spacious, and has bathrooms. The parking is a tiny lot but there is ample street parking since it's tucked in a neighborhood. Daytime is safe. Don't know what happens here at night though! read more

This is probably one of my favorite parks. It's hidden away from the main streets and doesn't get as crowded as the rec on mira mesa. They have a basketball court that pretty up-kept, playground, gazebo, large grass area, and cement for walking/skating. Nice place to learn how to ride something, fly a kite, walk your dog, have a picnic, or play sports! read more

Great neighbourhood park in Mira Mesa. As others have mentioned - the parking lot gets crowded, but there is street parking. When I went last Sunday there were a couple of parties going on, so the car park and street were pretty packed. We still found parking just outside though. There are picnic tables dotted round the place and a couple of brick gazebos. There is a play area with two different sized structures. Baby swings and regular swings. There is a concrete path round the field, so that's great for pushchairs. They had toilets, but I didn't check them out. read more

Nice spacious park with a lot of lush grass to run around. There are two small playgrounds equipped with slides and swings with a mulch ground cover. There's also one single basketball court, with no outdoor lights. I walk my dogs around this park consistently since I live so close. My Pomeranian and chihuahua mix love going for walks here, always eager to say hello to other friendly dogs. The park supplies doggie poop bags so people can pick up after their dogs...sadly a handful of disrespectful owners choose not to pick up after their furry friends. Watch your step around the perimeter of the grass for poop! There's a nice ~1/2 mile dirt trail that encircles the park. Along this path there are various exercise stations as well as two varying size pull up bars. There are a couple of gazebos here with cement picnic tables, some people have parties and BBQs here. Hot coal trash bins are offered here with those charcoal beach type grills, I am not too sure about the cleanliness of the grills. Overall nice park with a well maintained trail and grass field, fun for all ages and types of fur!! read more

This is a cute little neighborhood park! We were in the neighborhood and wanted to take the pup for a walk and let her run around a bit. This park is small but a nice addition to the neighborhood. There's a middle grassy area which I feel needs more trees for shade. Unfortunately there's also signs that remind you to keep your four legged friends on a leash. It's nice to see the neighborhood kids make use of this park. They seemed to be on the playground jungle gym area, riding their bikes and skateboards, playing basketball on the court, practicing their swing, and playing soccer on the grassy area. Families were also having a couple of parties and barbeques. The restroom is decent. It wasn't the cleanest, but better than beach bathrooms. It was stocked with toilet paper, but it was lacking soap and paper towels. So don't forget the hand sanitizer! The parking lot is small, but I figure most people walk or ride over on their bike/scooter/skateboard anyways. read more

Im glad that they turned an abandoned dirt area into this beautiful park. This park has it all- spacious greenery for baseball, soccer, vball, football and any other sports that require a lot of space to run around on. They have a bball court that's pretty decent, a great playground for big kids & little kids and you'll also see teenagers skateboarding around. Breen is also great for BBQs and jumpers so the kids can go wild and crazy. Parking only accommodates a few vehicles, but there's no problem parking on the street, a less busy neighborhood than Capricorn. All in all, this park is always buzzing with activity and it's such a pleasure to know that you can have all of these activities going on without feeling crowded. But then again, it's just my opinion.. read more

I really like this park. I think it's super nice for a local park. It has two playground areas. One for big kids & one for younger toddlers. There's a pretty nice basketball court too. I came here mostly to play bball at night with jbh. I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to be there. But no one ever complains.. There's usually random people at the park at night anyway. I like that they have a large trail for people to run/jog! I'm not sure how much one lap is but I'm sure with smart phones anyone can frack that easyyy! They also have public bathrooms and fountain area here which I think is nice! Who wants to go play in the park & not have anywhere to potty? Overall, Breen is a really nice park for a public park! The grass is green the place looks clean there's parking! What more would you need? I know! Some friends a picnic blanket & some fooood! read more

The family and I enjoy coming to this park which is only about a mile or so away from our house. There's a lot of things to do to for the whole family. There's several play structures for the kids including slides, monkey bars, swings, and seesaw. There's also different things to climb/hang on, and a playground kiddie zipline-like structure (that ahh well some dad was actually trying to use lol). They also have a full court basketball court in pretty decent shape. There's always people playing when we're there, and I haven't yet convinced my wife that we can take some of these kids on a "friendly" game of 2 on 2. Although it would probably help if we remember to bring our ball one of these days. They have a nice path that we calculated to be roughly a third of a mile all the way around. And there's several workout setups spread throughout with a descriptive step by step instruction for the beginner and the advanced. Some of them include push-up, chin-up, sit-up/leg raise, parallel bar stations. It was pretty fun doing them together as a family. There's also a lot of open grass area for playing whatever you can organize and imagine. Today we saw some people playing soccer on one end, and others playing volleyball on another. There are several covered sitting areas also for a picnic or even a bbq. They also have public restrooms although I haven't had the privilege or is it the nerve to use their facilities yet. Although I'm pretty sure my wife and girls have used them prior and I don't recall my girls running out screaming or complaining. On a side note I like how they have different countries with their respective flags written and painted on the park grounds. Sorry don't have a pic maybe next time. read more

I went here with my exercise core group early Saturday morning and my gosh, this is where all the exercise junkies are at! Its great and all, but it does get a bit crowded and the limited parking there forces you to park on the street in front of houses. Which I bet can get a bit annoying for those who live there. There was a huge basketball game, two tai chi groups on the opposites side of each other (it looked like a tai chi battle!) a volleyball game and your avid park walkers with friends or their dogs. Its spacious enough for everyone to enjoy their own thing but I like to do my squats without 10 people staring at me. read more

This is a nice, family park with a lot of recreation. I came for a friend's daughter's birthday party. Seems like a lot of family parties happen here, since the day I came, there were like 4 other gatherings and bbq going on and with bounce houses too. There's a plsyg for the kids and lots of space to roam around. Grass was dead though. Overall, a nice park. I probably won't come again unless invited for an outing since I live nearly 2 hours away. A favorite park of ours when we were still living in the area. It is off the busy streets of Capricorn Way and Mira Mesa boulevard so it's safer for kids. There are 2 play areas, one for toddlers and one for bigger kids. Both these areas have play structures and swings. The pavement area is a popular spot for skateboarders and kiddies for biking. The nearby field is often used for baseball practice. There is also a walking path around the field with rest stations. The basketball court is always busy with a game going on especially on afternoons. My concerns with this park include the kids using skateboards haphazardly. The grounds of the play areas are also covered with wood chips (and not the popular rubberized ones these days) so open toed shoes for kiddies are a no-no. The tendency to get a splinter or two is always there. read more

Beautiful park, one of the few parks in mira mesa where people pick up after themselves. Be aware of dogs and don't be afraid to tell people to pick up after their dogs...i actually called the cops and sent took a picture of the person with the dog and the owners car so they were fined isn't technology great. read more

best small park there is. has full court basketball court with painted three point lines. and good sized track around the park for running (3 laps is one mile i believe). lots of picnics here on the weekends. also has baseball, volleyball set ups. read more

The park is a newer one in Mira Mesa, built atop an old elementary school it has a nice workout area and benches. It has a small parking lot and street parking. read more
