Yelp, please give us the opportunity to give negative "stars", thanks. So, Pottery Barn. My last 3 orders online have taken literally MONTHS to get to me. I am on my last order, ever. I will never walk into your store again in my life and I will stop anyone I know from shopping there. I've ordered a quilt to replace the duvet cover from the same family of items. The duvet cover was trash. Too small and the stitching frayed from the first week. I threw it away, thanks. Please refund my $300 or so dollars. Bahahahaha, right? I ordered the quilt instead. WHY, will it take TWO MONTHS TO GET TO ME? The quilt is in stock and allegedly in California. Again, last order and last visit to Pottery Barn. The fulfillment center must actually be in a barn with goats dealing with the shipping. This is 2024, IT CAN'T TAKE TWO OR THREE MONTHS TO DELIVER ANYTHING FROM ANYWHERE. Get a grip, this is not ok. Bankruptcy is in your future and I will laugh my a** off. read more

I haven't been to a Pottery Barn in a very long time, and today I remembered why. Everything still looks the same as it did in 2002. Everything is still in a shade of brown. And big. And square. Hands down without a doubt the worst purchasing experience of my lifetime. As new parents to be, we trusted PotteryBarn as the vendor for all of our nursery needs. When purchasing the furniture we checked ETA and stock status to ensure there would be no logistical issues. (2 weeks ETA). We are now 7 weeks in, and they just added another 2-3 weeks.... the due date is in 2 weeks. The worst of it is, throughout the whole time, they have not provided any updates except for when we call and ask them. Last week i was promised everything would be shipped out from NJ no later than Tuesday... now they are saying 2 weeks. Potterybarn customer service has failed to deliver on thier promised timelines, failed to financaially compensate for the diservice, failed to provide communication and updates on the order (the online tracking tool wont accept my order number to track myself), and have failed to treat a customer that is spending THOUSANDS of dollars that they care and will do something to help. I strongly encourage any and all consumers to look at alternative vendors for thier furniture needs, for me, BuyBuyBaby will be getting my money. Potterybarn will never see a dollar from me or anyone that asks me for advice again. It is mind boggling that they are still in bussiness given their bottom tier customer service. Worst. Retail. Experience. Did all my research online, went to store armed with gift cards and knowing exactly what I wanted. Sales person copped an attitude almost immediately. Sales were not same in store as online. Apparently, you cannot get posted discounts on a backordered item. Ended up leaving without my intended purchase, but glad I did, as I found comparable rug for half the cost elsewhere....and it was delivered for free. PB wanted $100 to deliver! read more

Not Happy! Ordered a Raleigh Bed back in August. Waited and waited. Today, Nov 26th they delivered only the side rails with no headboard. I was told maybe in January. Oh but they already billed me too! Also ordered a lamp they advertised on sale. No INVENTORY on that either! I still like their items but unless I can walk out with it, I will not order ever again. I am a huge fans of Pottery Barn it's always a treat to get the catalog in the mail and salivate over it. I hear people knock it for the price tags being to high but it's quality merchandise that you are getting. If your looking for cheap you are gonna get cheap and I would not recommend wasting your time stopping in (for the most part) but if you don't want to waste your money and want purchases that will last then Pottery Barn is worth it to look around. The have beautiful designs for your home with a good mix of styles that you can match with what your already working with at home. The staff is friendly and helpful and will delicate the time and attention that is needed to best serve you without being overbearing or pushy. read more

Overall lack of customer service. All I wanted to do was touch the fabric for the sleeper sofa I had already picked out online and place the order - it would have taken less than 5 minutes of a salesperson's time! However, one older woman got the attention of three salespeople (she didn't even purchase anything), while my husband and I (millennials) stood there and kept being told "just a minute." After 15 minutes we just decided to leave. Instead we went across the street to Bassett, received lovely customer service, and ended up buying what is ultimately better quality furniture made here in the States. $3000 better spent, so maybe I should just be saying thank you to Pottery Barn for pushing us out the door! read more

I want to start by saying I love Pottery Barn.. the BRAND. This store alone often leaves much to be desired. Usually I like to go by the store to see something in person before making a decision, and I often notice the same thing: an overall lack of Customer Service. Take, for example, my most recent experience. My husband and I were looking to buy new bedroom furniture and a media console. Furniture from PB, just like everything else, is pricy, so we wanted to see it in person if possible. We made the mistake of showing up on a Sunday morning in "errand clothes" (i.e. not dressed up at ALL) with our kids in tow. While our kids were perfectly well behaved, we noticed no one in the store asked if we needed help; we even noticed employees looking at all and essentially turning their nose at us. After 15-20 minutes with no assistance, we decided maybe one of us should come back alone at a later time. As such, I returned the next day after work, assuming I would have better luck at that time. I ended up with the same results: all employees essentially ignored me despite the fact that the store was empty of customers. After 10 minutes I took things into my own hands and approached someone. Right from the start, I could tell I was bothering her but she did at least try... for a moment anyway. While looking at a piece of furniture and asking questions, the store phone rang. The person assisting me left me while I was mid-sentence, literally still talking. I would have understood if (1) she was the only person available to answer the phone (which she wasn't), or (2) had she said "excuse me, I will be right back." But, alas, neither of those are true, she simply left me there. Not knowing what to do, I followed and waited. Once she hung up, she looked surprised to see me there. I continued to ask my questions; eventually another woman showed up and I was promptly dropped to assist her. After the frustrating exchange, I left, swearing I wouldn't be back... but of course that never happens because I genuinely like the product. We still ended up ordering furniture online and likely will continue to do so. I just know that any experience you are likely to have in this particular store will be lacking. For the price tag, I would expect better treatment. Instead each interaction I had left me feeling a bit like Julia Roberts shopping in Beverly Hills in Pretty Woman. read more

Boy was the manager, who was helping a new employee in a real mood. It's probably her negative energy that led to the store being so empty! The new trainer was excellent despite hasty comments from the manager over her shoulder. read more

We purchased a Pearson sectional from the Richmond Pottery Barn. And boy are we sorry. It started with the delivery. The 3 men brought in the pieces, but neglected to attach the sectional together. We tired to communicate this issue but they didn't speak English so... After examining the slip covers, we determined they did not fit well: puckering and unevenness. We contacted Customer Service and did get new covers, which were wrinkled badly. For the money we paid ($5000)we expected a follow up call to determine if we were satisfied with the new covers. Nope! Nothing! I will NEVER purchase another piece of furniture nor will I recommend Pottery Barn to anyone. Lesson learned. read more

I had a nice experience there today. The employees were busy with restocking and moving things around, and I was dressed in totally painted-in clothing (meaning work clothing that I had painted and caulked in) so I was definitely not looking as nice as someone just coming from work. Despite these circumstances I was greeted cheerfully as soon as I walked in the door, and helped by no less than three associates and a manager in selecting my purchase. I am not a frequent shopper at this store but I would go back if I needed something else in that same product category. read more
