My fiancé and I came to Short Pump to do an unofficial registry run for our wedding. We loved our time at Crate & Barrel. They had the most inspiring and beautiful stuff. While things are on the pricier side, they are stunning. They also have a cool sale section you can look at. This store is two levels. Upstairs is a lot of bigger furniture, while downstairs is more smaller home good items. The furniture makes me wish I was an interior designer with an endless budget. They do offer true registry appointments, but we more so wanted to casually look around. We found a lot of things we loved and put on our wedding registry. The staff was also extremely kind and asked us if they could help with anything a few times. I highly recommend coming here. read more

Purchase a couch from C&B on Dec 1. Delivered about a week and half later. One section was missing legs. It's now Dec 27 and they still have not replaced or brought the legs. The section is sitting in my house on its side with no legs. No customer service after the sale. Called Short Pump C&B. Talked to manager Brian. Brian claims to be looking into it and will contact me when he finds information. Of course it's Saturday and no one will be available until Monday. I'll keep you posted. read more

I came into this store today to shop for a new sofa for my home and had a truly disappointing experience. While sitting on one of the display couches, reading reviews and checking dimensions with my friends, we were approached by an employee who asked, "Where are your parents?" and immediately followed up with, "You guys need to leave, these couches are for sitting and display only." For context: my friends and I are all in our mid-20s. We were quietly browsing--just like many other customers in the store. There was absolutely no reason for us to be singled out or treated this way. Shocked and embarrassed, we spoke with a kind associate on the first floor who informed us the employee's name is Mike. He was wearing a black button-up shirt and had grayish-black hair and a beard. I can't express how humiliated and disrespected I felt. The rest of the staff was lovely, but that one interaction completely ruined our visit. Making assumptions about someone's age based on appearance is not only unprofessional--it's discriminatory. We were dressed casually, as many shoppers are, and left the store immediately after this incident. I was genuinely excited to shop here, but after this experience, I won't be returning. read more

I moved from California and let me say, crate and barrel itself had NEVER disappointed me like this one in Richmond. I have had two sales associates flake on design appointments. Russell reached out and assigned grace to call me September 22 since the original appointment on the 19th was never done because the associate called out. I had huge plans for this project only to be flaked on again. I am considering reaching out to corporate as I'm sure they'd be interested in knowing the loss of business because of the incompetence of their employees. It's unfortunate it's the only crate and barrel near my area and it's still over an hour drive to see items in person. read more

I made a large purchase at this location store and already the person running me up messed it up... that should have been my red flag. Second, I ordered something that they didn't have at their location and told me you will receive 3-5 business days. No problem I don't mind waiting. 2 weeks go by, I heard nothing, I called for an update, said that it's in processing. Ok, I will be patient once more, called the next week to see where my item has been and received the same update, so I decided to go in to speak to someone. The manger at that time, I didn't feel like she was helpful at all. She tried returning it completely and the system wouldn't let her (not her fault) do a return for me since it was past the return policy... I haven't even received it... the best Crate&Barrel could do was a in-store credit. At this point I will just be patient once more so I didn't have to do the in-store credit. I called again today to the customer service and they barely helped me, all that was said was.. "there I fixed it", I couldn't get an explanation, I had to ask details and still my questions weren't answered as to why it's taking so long. Very frustrated with this store, especially paying a lot of $$. I would not order from this place, maybe to get something that's already on the floor, but not order. read more

Hands down the absolute worst CB I've ever had to deal with. I have an issue every single time-- it's the only location in my area otherwise I'd avoid at all costs. I've yet to encounter a friendly and/or helpful sales associate. I understand the holiday season is tough for retail but this review is not limited to my experiences during the holidays. Moved to Richmond from Los Angeles this summer. In the past 6 months I've spent nearly $10,000 on furniture and goods at this Crate & Barrel. While the store staff like Marita are professional and kind, the same cannot be said for the delivery teams here or the quality in which the furniture is brought to your home. Over the past months I've had tables delivered that were damaged in transit, sofa chairs with broken frames and day beds damaged also by the very same people while being brought into the home. While this is all just "stuff" and can be replaced, what shocks me is the unprofessional, careless attitude of these folks. A shining example is the second day bed they delivered to replace the original one they damaged (including our walls). As they brought the original one out of our home they again damaged the stairwell walls and when confronted with this, they said "that hole was already there". One, no it wasn't and secondly there was fresh drywall particles all over the ground beneath this new hole. Not to mention the enormous sound it makes when you bang against a wall and I'm standing there; watching this all unfold mere feet away. Pictures were taken both by myself and the delivery team as evidence. Walls can be fixed. Stuff can be replaced. But you can't put a price on having honest, careful people deliver product you spent thousands for. And months waiting to get replaced because they couldn't do it correct the first time. Unfortunately these delivery staff are more concerned with speed and protecting their own rear to care about your time or home. I expect a lot more from this company and it's a shame how poorly delivery is run here. read more

I love Crate and Barrel. And I love them even more after the way they handled an issue I recently had. I bought a footed cake plate/dome and LOVED the way it looked. I didn't love the way it performed, however. My cakes were breaking in two! Or four! The plate part had a hump in the center of it where the base is attached, and for awhile, I thought it was me. Was I baking wrong? I finally realized I had a bad product, which was disappointing considering how expensive it was! Then it dawned on me that I might have a defective product. I called customer service for housewares and told Jennifer about my dilemma. She told me to come right in with my defective product and switch it out for a new one. What, with no box? No receipt? Yep! I told her if I had problems with whomever I dealt with at the counter, I would ask to speak with her directly. She assured me it would be okay. And it was. And it was clear that Jennifer communicated with her entire staff about the situation, because everyone knew about it and was expecting me. They showed me the new one (sans hump in the middle), and sent me on my way with a smile on my face. Yay! When you get this level of service, sometimes paying so much for a product doesn't feel so bad. read more

I love C&B. Simple as that. Crate and Barrel has been a favorite since I graduated college and realized I was in need of housewares that weren't stamped with Greek logos or girlier than girly. Yes, I'm admitting that I had a room covered in pink before I knew better. But once I entered the "real world" (no, not the show, thank you very much), I became a bit wiser and discovered this incredible store. Now, Crate and Barrel is my go-to for affordable dishes and home decor. And I drool over some of the less affordable furniture. From wine glasses to vases, candles to kitchen tools, my house is happier because of C&B. Sometimes I even look to the store purely for design inspiration. I can't visit Short Pump without popping in for a quick look at the newest C&B collections. And since the past few years have been filled with friends getting engaged and registering for gifts at this homeowner's haven, I've completely embraced the "one for you, one for me" mentality when shopping. When we went into Crate & Barrel today we had an impressively poor experience that was insensitive towards the disabled. The handicap stall (in a multi-stall women's bathroom) had no door on it and you could see completely into the stall from the sink. This was degrading for my sister, who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair) and mother who were trying to go to the bathroom. We raised the issue to the manager, but there is no immediate plan for a fix. This experience was disappointing and we expected better. read more

I love Crate and Barrel! Unfortunately, we don't have one in Hampton Roads, so I guess I'm forced to go elsewhere for my kitchen goods fix and furniture eye candy. Richmond is close enough, so I guess Short Pump has become my new best friend. I was in Richmond a month or so ago, so I had to hit Crate and Barrel. I ended up purchasing four items - two were boxes of simple bamboo skewers, but the other two were some super clip closure-type jars. I'm planning some Cranberry Apple Compote for Thanksgiving - one to keep and one to give and this jar looked like a fantastic way to both gift and display. I picked up my items quickly, but had to check out all the furniture on my wishlist. At the top of the list was a desk made from recycled timbers; it was rustic yet totally functionally. I 'm still dreaming about that desk. Maybe Santa will leave it under the tree. If you love Williams-Sonoma, you'll love Crate and Barrel even more - all the kitchen stuff plus home furnishings. read more

Beautiful big open store. Easy to get around in. When i needed help an associate was right there to help me find the coffee pots. Found that the pour over coffee maker (Chemx??) I wanted was a little cheaper here and so were the filters (vs. Amazon). Check out was also very quick. read more

When I moved to Richmond, words can't describe how excited I was when I found out I would be close to a Crate & Barrel. I have heard too many great things about the store, and lucky for me, my previous employer gave me a gift card here when I left. Of course I had to visit the store immediately! C&B is located right in the heart of Short Pump Town Center and it occupies two levels. The store is very bright and well-organized, offering everything from furniture, to home decor, to kitchen and bathroom essentials, all in very modern and classy tastes. I would say the prices are definitely on the higher end, but a few accessories I found in my price range -- ceramic bowls, pot holder/oven mitt, place mats and a butter dish. The furniture is absolutely stunning and will make you cringe when you peek at the price tag...but a girl can dream right?! I recommend Crate and Barrel to get great home accessories for yourself or someone special. read more

Yeah, some people may not be the smartest when it comes to furniture shopping, but it's absolutely rude and unprofessional especially doing it on a busy weekend.. Also.. The escalator squeaks... I bought bedding from the Short Pump Crate and Barrel on August second. The pillow shams were not in stock, so they were ordered for me. I was told that they should be there in 7-10 days. I called on day 10, and was told that they were back ordered, but they should be there in another 7-10 days. Around the 20th, I called the store again and was told that they were having problems in their warehouses with a new system, but they should be there by the end of the month. I went on a two-week vacation, expecting them to be there when I returned. Nothing. I called again. I was told that they were in stock, but others were in front of me. They had no idea when they would be sent. Also, I was then informed that only one pillow sham had been ordered for me. (Who buys a king bedding set with only one king sham?) They would need another $50 for me to get both, whenever that might be. After much discussion with an assistant manager, she found them in the Edina, Minnesota store, and said she would have them sent to me. The Edina store would call by the end of the day to give me the tracking number. Nothing. I finally went into the store and spoke to the assistant manager (after asking for the general manager and being told he/she was there ... Didn't come out to talk to me. Sent the assistant again.) I finally got the tracking number and the pillow shams arrived 59 days after they were first ordered. My biggest problem is that no one ever bothered to contact me regarding my lost order. I had to make each contact. They have lost a good customer. I have other options. UPDATE: After reading this review, the manager of the Short Pump C & B called me to apologize. She had been in the dark about the entire incident. She also sent me a $50 gift card (which paid for my second sham). This will go a long way toward getting me to try the store again. I love going to Crate and Barrel! They have a wonderful selection for cooking ware and a staff that is willing to help you find what you need. Everytime I come here, I feel like I want to buy a bunch of appliances and cooking ware and start cooking a huge meal once I get home! Such a great atmosphere in this place! The furniture section is great as well. This particular location has two floors. Most of the cooking appliances and such are on the first floor, and most of the furniture is located on the second floor. Staff is very friendly. This is the only location in the Richmond and is definitely worth a visit! A lot of people came here during Black Friday weekend. They also sell these vanilla covered pretzels. They were giving out free samples when I went. They're so good! Highly recommend those pretzels! read more

I went into the Short Pump Va store today, they had just opened so not many customers. First, two employees at the door I guess checking to make sure guests had masks on, Neither one said Hello, Welcome to Crate & Barrel....nothing! I walked around, w/ my mask on, I went upstairs got off the escalator & my mask was across my nose, not totally coving my nostrils when this LOUD employee embarrassed me so much by in a VERY loud command told me "Pull that mask up". I was shocked the way she spoke to me n such a tone that I was a child. I was embarrassed & then just couldn't believe her approach. I have NOTHING against wearing the mask, I also work retail. I will NEVER go back to that store as long as your employee Marina, which I ask her name & told her how she needs to speak n a different manner to her customers & use this example on how to speak in a manner of professionalism & kindness. I went n there to spend approximately $200.00 for a wedding gift. After the treatment I left & went to spend my money at Dillard's. This happened around 10:40 am 10-23-20. read more
