I wish I'd have gotten the name of who helped me, so I hope this makes it back to her-- I was in on Saturday with my two children. They were playing with the toys out for play while I was shopping for decorations for Christmas. I hadn't planned on going, so I didn't have my PB credit card with me. The lady at the register was able to look it up with my license and SSN. I paid and left...my license behind. Sunday we were out all day celebrating a birthday and when we got home last night, stuck in my door was a PotteryBarn Kids envelope with my license inside. I'm pretty sure she could have looked up my number from my account with the credit card, but she didn't. She could have dropped it in the mail and it would have gotten back to me, but she didn't. She drove to my house--not really near the mall at all--and hand-delivered my license. Absolutely top-notch. read more

Pottery Barn Kids makes the experience of purchasing & receiving furniture an absolute chore. While the quality is good, you're probably better off going elsewhere. I ordered a bedroom set for my toddler back in August so we could move his furniture into the nursery for our new expected arrival in November. We ordered a bed, dresser, and nightstand, and upon the initial order the estimated delivery was mid-September. Those dates came and went with no communication from PBK, and when we called PBK customer service, they told us that because the nightstand was back ordered, they wouldn't deliver any of the furniture until they had all 3 pieces. We begged the customer service agent to split the order because we needed the bed and dresser before November (or we were going to cancel the nightstand to get the rest of the order moving). He was very helpful, but we had to call 2 more times to actually get the order split -- hence the beginning of the chore. They finally scheduled us for delivery for the bed and dresser yesterday (mid-October), but when they arrived, the dresser was mislabeled and they had delivered the wrong color. I called PBK customer service who told me they couldn't do anything, was then told to call a number for Williams-Sonoma who told me to call PBK customer service, then went back to PBK customer service, who now told me my item wouldn't be delivered until possibly after my due date. All this to say, not only does it take several phone calls to get a clear answer on anything from PBK, but their communication regarding actually receiving your delivery will likely be lackluster and fail to meet even the lowest expectations. I will be going to Macy's, Crate & Kids or other similar furniture companies in the future to see if I can avoid PBK's runaround, and would recommend anyone else does too. read more

Recently bought bedding for my little girls room here. Nice selection especially for girls. I couldn't find a set that I liked for my little boy. The bedding is nice quality and I really do like it so far. Not sure I loved the tulle bedskirt the sales lady sold me on. I don't feel like the pink matches the pink in the bedding now that I have it home. The store was very busy and they could have used one or two other employees in there at the time I visited. read more

This location of PBK has always been terrific -- we furnished and outfitted our kiddo's room here. The Kendall crib is top rated in Consumer Reports, and the bedding is soft, made well and, let's face it, adorable. The selection here is nice, although they do tend to lean toward gender-typical colors and patterns: pinks/purple butterflies and flowers for the girls; blue/green plaids or Star Wars for the boys. I've always had pretty good luck with the service here -- they've looked in the back for merchandise, called other stores for me, helped load things in my car, etc. This store can get busy on weekends, so if you think you'll need lots of assistance (ordering furniture, matching bedding), try to go on a weekday or be there when they open. Bonus: there's a customer bathroom in the back of the store. It's my go-to stop with my kiddo because it's rarely in use and a good excuse to check out the store. If you are making a big purchase (furniture) get a Pottery Barn credit card for points towards rewards certificates. After the purchase of our nursery furniture, we received enough rewards to get the matching bookcase at no cost. Some furniture can be ordered ship-to-store at no shipping cost (smaller items, like nightstands or play tables). read more

Pottery Barn Kids - Home Decor Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

This review is for the employees/customer service only -- the store itself is perfectly nice (albeit a bit small), and seems well organized. My husband and I stopped by this PBK location this afternoon to shop for a few furniture items for our baby, since we just bought a house close by and want to furnish a nursery. We looked around for awhile and found a crib and dresser set that we liked. Unfortunately, not once did one of the two ladies working on the floor stop and ask us if we needed help. They didn't even say hello when we walked in, despite briefly stopping their conversation to stare us down as we walked in. One even walked right by us and said nothing. It was a Sunday early afternoon, and there was only one other couple in the store (they weren't being helped either). Not that it should matter, but we are two professionals that were dressed perfectly nicely and pushing a designer stroller, so we certainly weren't giving off any bad vibes. I even said to my husband as we were leaving and passing the desk "I can't believe nobody even stopped to ask if we needed any help" and this didn't even solicit any reaction from either of the sales associates. So unprofessional! I worked retail when I was in college and this would have been completely unacceptable from the management team I reported to -- really sad to see a nice retail store accept such poor treatment of their customers. We hopped back in our car and headed to a children's boutique a few miles away (thank you, Yelp!). We purchased a complete set of furniture and a bunch of other items and had great service from their employees. I don't think I'll ever visit this store again, and if want anything PBK, will just order offline. Sad, considering we're living so close to this location and have a baby! read more

Stopped in during a road trip to make an online return. I was very nervous that there would be a problem because I'd read nothing but bad things about PBK customer service (and experienced it myself, partially leading to the return). Sales associate at register was very friendly. She began to process my return but then realized that the online customer service had not cancelled the online return I had initiated (as I had requested that they do two weeks prior). This meant she had to call customer service herself to cancel it. I was shocked when she told me that stores don't have a special line to call and have to wait on hold with the general public! Ridiculous and a total waste of resources especially so close to the holidays! Eventually she spoke to a person who fixed the issue. I was then surprised that I wouldn't receive a refund on the spot but rather had to wait 2-3 days for it to process. I was understandably a bit nervous since I was leaving the merchandise at the store and wasn't given a return number (was just told that the return would appear as part of the original order number). The SA took the time to write down identifying information about both herself and the store so I could contact them with a problem. Thankfully the credit appeared 3 days later so further work on my part wasn't necessary. I'd give the service I received in the store 5 stars but due to the horrific management of PBK customer service overall (specifically online), I don't intend to shop there again. read more

Customer service is terrible! Stale attitude and just not helpful. Prefer to go to another location

I'm a frequent customer of this location. My child loves the displays and we often stop by to check out what new items they have. In June, I noticed that kid's sheets were on sale. I wanted the blue star with white background sheets but they were out of stock. I asked if I could get a rain check. The associate was nice and took my name and contact info. They said it would be 4 weeks. Flash forward to August. I called to follow up about when the sheets would arrive. They were still on back order and wouldn't be on the store until September. Okay. I asked why it was taking so long and they mentioned something about the inventory not being shipped out of the wearhouse. It would be another 4 weeks. I asked if there was another alternative so I did t have to wait any longer. The associate I was speaking with talked with her manager. The best they could do was purchase it for me online. They would still honor the sale price but I would have to pay for shipping. The cost came up to the same retail cost. What the...? When I said that doesn't see fair, the associate said I would just have to continue to wait. Now, nearly 6 months after that sale, I still don't have those sheets. I'm still waiting on them to call me when they come in. Final point - just go to the Tyson's location if this location doesn't have what you want. Rain checks are pointless. read more

Pottery Barn kids had been out go to until recently. The latest disappointed involves sheets for our son. We ordered train sheets for Christmas and they sent the wrong size. When I contacted customer service about the issue, they told me they would exchange it. However, the exchange is taking 4 months despite the product being in stock online. Additionally, they are basically creating a need for me to have to purchase another set of sheets due to the fact I have 30 days to return them and then wait 4 months for the new arrival. Fortunately, the store nearby is closing so it will make it that much easier for me to not buy anything from Pottery Barn kids again. When I spoke to customer service over the phone, they were less than helpful and offered no other solutions. For a company that charges a lot of money for kids decor, I would have expected better service. read more

I've called several times today to ask if they have an item in stock but stuff was very rude over the phone and short with me. I was put on hold twice and "forgotten" .Finally when I was able to speak with one of their associates She kept cutting my off and hang up on me. There are people out there who will do the job much better than those currently unhappy and rude employees at Fair Oaks! Please change your stuff. I Will definitely not stop by at that location. read more

Terrible customer service, I ordered a special birthday doll for my granddaughter. I received notification that it had shipped. I came across the country to celebrate with my family. No doll just all the accessories to go with it. Corporate customer service was unresponsive. I will never shop at PB kids again. American Girl store will get my future business. read more

Great selection and helpful staff! Also love the special events and story times (done by Miss Karen).

Worst customer service at this store! First time I went into this store I was completely ignored while associates walked past me to help someone that had just walked in the door. I guess I wasn't up to their standards. Went in second time to exchange a gift and had a pleasure to deal with the store manager. She was rude!! Her attitude was completely unacceptable and unnecessary. I received a gift from my in laws for my 10 month old. They had accidentally bought the wrong size and since they live in another state it was going to be tough to ask them to exchange the size. I called customer service before going into the store. Rep that helped me at over the phone explained how the process would work if they were to do it over the phone. I didn't want to wait for a return label and a gift card in the mail. She told me to go into a store and it can be exchanged immediately. Girl at the cash register called her manage to help me with the exchange. Manager just was rude right off the bat. She tells me when I return a online order in store I have to wait for my refund gift card in the mail! What store do you know of does this? Well after few mins of going back and forth explain why I had driven my self 45 mins to come to a store only to be told the same thing I was told in the phone. I go around to call the customer service so I can make sure this "policy" is actually true. While holding for the rep. Girl form the cash register comes looking for me to tell me her manage had "figured out" a way to return with out mailing me a gift card and that I can hang up with customer service. She wasted 45 mins for something that was so simple. I had a gift receipt with my item and she still had a problem. I never want to give that store my money. Might as well order it online with dealing with a rude person in sore! read more

I love pottery barn kids and visited this store a couple of times to get bedding for my daughter. I walked in and there were 4 employees at the register area. 2 were helping other customers and the other 2 seemed to be on the phone with customers so I decided to look for what I needed on my own - which was a simple toddler's pillow. I walked up and down the store 3 times but couldn't find it. So I waited near the register waiting to ask someone. No one paid any attention to me. Not one "I'll be with you in a second". I had to wait until one employee was off the phone and I asked her quickly to guide me in the right direction. without looking up from her computer, she waves her hand and says "back there". I ask her, "back to the right or left?" and she doesn't respond. I look at the other 2 employees there and they just look at me and walk away b/c they had to attend to something else I guess. so I walk back again to see if I've missed something but see nothing. I track down another employee who is about to go into the back room and ask her where the pillows are. She looks at me, and asks "the toddler pillow??" with a blank look on her face like she didn't know what I was asking for (she was at the front when I had just asked the other employee). Finally a 3rd employee from the back says, "yes we have a toddler pillow in the back, I'll get it for you". Then the employee I was talking to just walks away. I finally pay and get out of there. The employee who checked me out was pleasant. read more

I recently called this Pottery Barn Kids for Halloween costumes that were both out of stock online and at their Tysons and Bethesda locations. The customer service I received here was superb. I was able to do the transaction over the phone and they were able to mail the costumes to me - I paid $14 for shipping but it was better than me driving 45mins. I was in desperate need of a cute costume for my little guy and this PBK saved the day! I went to this location another time to make a return and the people at this store are super friendly. read more

Worst customer service ever. Went there Saturday to order personalized sofa for my baby. We were waiting at the customer desk for 5 min. No greeting at all and I wasn't sure who is customer or workers. They are just busy talking to coworkers. Also, they don't have knowledge to order personalized sofa in their system. So we decided to just order online from home. Don't waste your time. read more

Was in today to purchase items during Friends and Family. The regular sales help was very nice, but took them 30+ minutes to find out that the items weren't in stock and that they had to order them for me. Then I leaned that shipping isn't waived just because they ran out of an item. The manager had a lot of attitude as if to suggest I was the one unreasonable to think it should be waived. The weekday manager is a much friendlier person. So, instead of spending 5 minutes ordering from home, I wasted an hour of my time driving to the store and spending a ridiculous amount of time having my order entered. read more

My complaint is that I received the worst service ever. One assistant named Alison and other older lady, who is subject of my complaint. Today I stopped by to buy twill blackout curtains in navy color. First, it took me 15 min to prove to the sales rep that the curtains are advertised on PBK website for $10 less than the store price. I showed them the item # etc (because they wouldn't check their own website), but finally she accepted this price after she saw it herself on their computer (even though I had been showing it to them for 15 min on my phone. Then, my next issue was that I had special code from PBK with 15% off (which PBK sent me via email) which she wouldn't accept either, stating that the offer had expired. When I pointed out that the date which she was looking at was the date which I had revived the email from PBK, not the expiration date, she still refused it. After that I just left the store and will never back. I was loyal customer for many years, but this experience has proven to me that PBK does not care about their customers -- what nonsense!!! read more

i am not one to usually write reviews but this people need to know how freaking terrible this store is! for my sons birthday i wanted to get him a cute little table for him to play with, or use coloring books on or whatever a two year old does! i went to the store and they happened to have the table i wanted in stock so i wouldnt have to order it online! i was so excited went straight home and got the table out of the box...there were two HUGE scratches on it! if i'm spending over $200 on a LITTLE KID table it damn well be perfect! so i called the store and asked them how i go about exchanging it. the woman i talked to blamed me for the scratches and was seriously SOOOOOO rude. i took the table back and they ordered a new one because it wasn't in store. well i get the new table and its the WRONG COLOR (at this point its past his birthday.) so i take that one back and they order me another one and it shows up and GUESS WHAT?!?!??! its the WRONG COLOR AGAIN!!!!! so i return it and decide to say screw it to the stupid table and the kid tells me i should have a check in the mail in a few days. i've never heard of this so i wait.... FOUR WEEKS have gone by and i haven't gotten my refund! i've called the customer service SEVERAL times and they're completely lost and confused what to do! ALSO!! i called and wanted the GM to call me because i was so freaking annoyed and he NEVER called me! and no one has offered to make things right! it sucks! i will NEVER shop at PBK evvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver again! seriously i know no one reads reviews for corporate stores but if you happen to read this review avoid this store! they're a bunch of idiots. read more

I love the pottery barn kids and I purchase many things for my daughter often. I have been to this location the last time about a month ago. It was my second time visiting this location. I usually shop at Tyson's corner and never had any problem. I had $120 pottery barn cash to spend by the end of January, so I went there today. I have been told that I need to spend the whole $120 otherwise I will lose the remaining balance, so I went back to look around and pick up more stuff to be about $120. The girl who was helping me first went to help somebody else, so when I returned to the cash register, she was not there. The other guy, Eric at the cashier said "Is she helping you?" So I said she was helping me but now she is helping somebody else, so you can help me. Then, he had this very rude attitude asking me "Is she helping you or not?!" I said clearly that she was helping me first but she was helping somebody else now. What part wasn't clear to you?? I told him that he needs to learn how to talk to the customers and need more customer service skills. He must had a really bad day or something but I would never buy from this location. It was very unpleasant experience. Other female sales associate was very friendly though. read more
