She used it for 50 years and it is a great quality but was looking a little worse for the wear. They were very upfront about what they could and could not fix which is always appreciated. Some of the scratches and cuts were too deep for a repair. I've attached before and after pictures - I am so impressed with the shine now! The zipper was fixed well too but I had figured that one wouldn't be as challenging. Will definitely go back with more projects for them!

Per the tracking they arrived two days later at 10 a.m. I received a Text from Peabody at 11:30 a.m. the same day alerting me that they were done and would be shipped out the same day. However, be patient and do not let the apparent communication barrier deter you from doing business with Model, because the service is superb. You need to pay up front for repairs. They charged me $34 to replace the soles on a pair of dress shoes and told me to return after 3 days. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the shoes are even better than when new and will probably last me at least a couple of years more. My soles were flapping around in the wind, so it was either throw the shoes out and buy a new pair or see if somebody could repair them because they were still in very good condition otherwise. The folks here quoted me $20 to reattach the soles to the shoes and in a week I was back in business. I'm grateful I didn't have to throw them away and could continue to get many more years out of them. Kudos for this craftsman being able to still work his trade in today's economy.

This seems like a business that is struggling to stay afloat. As much as I empathize with the…read moreproprietor, it also means he does not have the proper materials to do the job. I was looking for a new Vibram heel cap for my boots, he did not have the proper size and it wasn't Vibram. His solution was to add move leather to the heel and then put on a more shallow heel cap. This would be an OK solution, however it would end up costing me TWICE what new heel caps would (about $25). Again, I empathize with the shop owner but I don't want to pay double because he doesn't have sufficient inventory of shoe repair parts. He seemed like a very nice guy that was eager to please, but again I can't pay double the price because he is a nice guy.
