We have used them a few times to repair some cowboy boots and they did a great job. They were fast, faired priced and very easy to work with. Come support your local shoe repair shop! Absolutely loved my visit, the owner couple were so nice to me and they were honest and tried to fix my shoe but told me they tried but it was not fixable. I appreciate their honestly and I saw their price menu that is super reasonable. I took my boots in on Wednesday to get stretched. I paid $20 upfront and said I needed to pick them up on Monday. They wrote everything down on the ticket. All seemed great. I went to go pick up my shoes on Monday (I need them for an event tonight) and they weren't there... they had a note on the door that said be right back. I waited over an hour, someone finally showed up. When they saw the ticket they spent over ten minutes looking for my shoes. They seemed to have lost them. They finally found them and said "if you need them stretched more let us know" (this was our next red flag!) We got them home and I went to go put them on and the original stuffing in one of the shoes was there because I never pulled it out. This was my first sign that the shoe wasn't even touched! I tried them on and they are the EXACT same. I tried calling multiple times. There is NO working phone number. So not only did they misplace my shoes, they made me pay upfront for a service they didn't do, they weren't there during their NORMAL assigned hours, there is no phone number to contact them, and they lied about completing the task. This is an untrustworthy business. The customer service is lacking and if I could give negative stars I would. read more

Mr Lim did a fantastic job on two pairs of boots of mine. Cowboy boots completely re-soled and heels and a pair of Frye motorcyle boots soles and heels. I asked or a non-slip material on the bottom and they turned out great! Boots like new. He completed the work on time as promised and his price was fair for all the work he did. Mr Lim replaced the heels on a pair of my favorite pumps! They are as good as new - Payment in full at the time of dropoff required because many clients failed to pick up their repaired shoes. This was not a problem for me. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend his work! read more

I called to verify that this business will be closing @ six to make sure I didn't waste time. Drove 40 minutes to get here. It's 5:30 and they're closed. I invest a lot in dress shoes. and they're damn expensive. I'm fairly rough, too, what with all the scuffles and wear I place on them.... So, I love to extend the life of my J&M's as much as I can. When you consider a pair of quality dress shoes can cost over $200, if only makes sense to fuel their survival as long as your can. Whether it be reviving the polish on the upper section or rebuilding/replacing the soles and heels, he has always done a fine job. The picture I've attached is of a pair of tasseled dress loafers (is there ANY other kind!?). They are at least 5 years old. Yet, Lim has made them look new again. Heck, BETTER than new, in that they are already sufficiently stretched out! For my money ($34), this is a brand new pair of shoes that will last another 2 -3 years. That's a GOOD deal! read more

Looking for a true shoe / boot / leather repair shop? This is the real deal. Mr. Lim and his spouse have this and the next door alterations shop. I've had shoes and boots resoled and reheeled, and he does a fantastic job and cleans up the rest of the boot / shoe, too. It is in the strip mall, which is split in two strips -- his shop and the alterations shop are in the split, with their doors facing the split, not the parking lot. Drove past the place 3 times before I spotted the sign. Wow! Whole different experience from the last shoe shop I tried to use. First impression was the orderly way things seemed. Not just tossed around like a donations basket. Owner instantly spotted that someone had made a poor attempt to repair my boot, smiled, and simply told me that he would do it correctly. Picked up my boot a week later to find a smooth piece of liner leather inside as well as a piece of top grain leather both color and texture matched on the outside with a tight, neat double stitch which will not pull loose the first time I go into the briars and brush. He obviously respected the original workmanship of my tried and trusty, 15 year old, handmade Buckaroo boots. Price was comparable to the first shop with the sloppy work. I also noticed that the place was full of items such as police motorcycle boots, motorcycle jackets, ladies dress jackets, and other fine leather goods that require a skillful hand and the touch of an artist to handle correctly. Looks like Lim's will be my go to place for anything leather. Do yourself a favor and drive a little further out of Donelson to this Hermitage shop and see what real workmanship looks like. read more

After reading all of the positive reviews here I decided to take my Yves St Laurent Tribtoo to be re soled. The shop was a little difficult to find, it reminded me of the little unassuming shops in Shanghai, but Mr. Lim took about a week to re sole the pair I brought in when I went to pick it up he only charged $24. I was in awe of the quality of his work, not only did he re sole but he also polished them hence I did not recognize them as they look brand new. I am just sad that I don't live in Nash town anymore, but will definitely miss this place. read more

I love this place!! It was a little hidden when I first tried tried to find it, but I've been a loyal customer for 6 years now. The couple that owns the place is absolutely amazing, they treat you like family. I always take my husband's shoes, actually the whole families. Men's dress shoes can get so expensive but every time I take it to Mr. Lim I come out with a brand new pairs of shoes, he is really talented. Absolutely love the couple that owns the place, really loving and takes care of my families shoes. I was actually turned down to fix my shoes at one point, because he stated it would be more expensive to repair than fix. Horrible! I took my favorite pair of boots in to be fixed for my bday weekend, with only one heel that was broken. I brought the other boot for the man to take example of how it should be fixed. He broke my other boot and repaired the broken heel crooked(after 2 times) and told me "it's fine crooked I think crooked give more support" what! The man blamed my other boot that he broke on the manufacturer of the boot this was after I had to bring my boot back because it wasn't fixed correctly the first time. He tried to tell me my boots were cheaply made after he couldn't fix it two tries later and after he broke the good boot. 200 plus for those boots I don't buy cheap. The man then tried to charge me more money for him being unable to correct the broken boot and after having broken the good boot!!!! Their english is non-existent but the woman and the man will both try to assure you in horrible english that they understand what you are saying..yeah riiiight..this just happened this month 12/10/2010..please don't waste your money or your fave pair of boots! read more
