I had a brown pair of dress shoes that I hadn't worn particularly often, but over the years the adhesive had become less than reliable. My soles were flapping around in the wind, so it was either throw the shoes out and buy a new pair or see if somebody could repair them because they were still in very good condition otherwise. The folks here quoted me $20 to reattach the soles to the shoes and in a week I was back in business. I'm grateful I didn't have to throw them away and could continue to get many more years out of them. Kudos for this craftsman being able to still work his trade in today's economy. read more

Not sure why this place is not on the normal Yelp searches, the other locations are, so here goes. Yes, I am a shoe slut. Yes, I have more shoes than my wife. No, I am not allowed to go into Marti and Liz without adult supervision. But I also take care of my stuff. And this is where I go whenever I need to have a pair of shoes patched up. They've done great work for me here, new soles, new linings, fixing scuffs or tears. I am very very heel heavy, and when they noticed that I was obliterating the heels of my shoes on a regular basis, they hooked me up with some heavy-duty heels that don't wear down as fast. They also do a good shoe shine, as well, when I don't have time to do it myself. They've also done a good job on my wife's shoes too, when I've had to convince her that you don't just throw them away when there is a problem. I've only ever seen two people working there (unless you count their birds and cat), a sweet older lady and a gruff guy. They saved my bacon, too, because I forgot about three pairs of really nice shoes I left for them to fix back in August and didn't get them back until November because I completely forgot about them. They say that they only hold them for 30 days, but thank goodness they hadn't tossed them. A couple of caveats: 1. They don't really post prices, so don't be afraid to ask what it is going to cost you. 2. There is clearly one or more chain smoker about, the shop smells of stale smoke and shoe polishes, it can be hard to discern the difference, so you'll probably need to let your shoes air out when you get home. Cedar shoe trees can help, too. 3. Keep your shoe trees, and put each pair in a plastic grocery sack. read more

I took my Jimmy Choo bag there to have the straps sewn . I mean like two very small stitches to be sewn. 21.00 and they look like I did it by hand. So dissappointed. My bag smells like cigarette smoke also. Will never return. read more

My husband dropped off a pair of leather shoes to be repaired. When he picked them up they reeked of cigarette smoke. Had to air them out in the garage for over a week ! This is disgusting ! What business does this these days ??? read more

Do not go there - the place reeks of cigarette smoke and is disgusting. I cannot believe that the building owner allows the store to smell like it does. I will never go there again. They did not polish my boots - had to ask for a "repolish" while I waited outside. Was not worth the $$$. Will go back to the store in Murfreesboro - cheaper, nicer and doesn't stink to the high heavens. read more

I took two pairs of shoes and a pair of my favorite boots in for repair. The work was great. However, my shoes came back smelling like smoke. I did not realize leather could hang on to smoke smell for sooooo loooong. I put them in bags with baking soda and it took about a week to get the smell out. read more

Store operated by a husband and wife team who are very accomodating. I have been taking my boots to this store for repair: half soles and new heels. The gent is a former boot maker from Texas and makes my boots look new. His prices are extremely reasonable, maybe $50 for half soles & heels. I will take my boots ONLY to this shop. He is a professional without equal in Nashville. No one else will ever touch my boots. read more

I love this place. As a sales manager who is in and out of the car a lot, I go through shoes like water. I have been using Model Shoe Rebuilders for years, mostly just for heel guards. However, in recent years, I've started using them to save shoes that I thought were done. They can do almost anything with a shoe. I have also started taking some shoes there for my wife. The workmanship is top notch, the service is very friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend them to everyone. Recently, I saw a review complaining about the smoke smell. I am happy to say that they no longer smoke inside. However, even when they did, it was worth it for the job they do and the fair prices they have. Someone recently asked on Facebook where to take some shoes for repair. I quickly told them about Model Shoe Rebuilders. Within an hour or so, 7 or 8 other people responded "Yes, they are the best." Check your items, folks. They were resoling a pair of Birkenstocks for me and cracked the cork. The bad thing is they just put them in a sack and were not going to tell me about it. I checked them right there and refused them, of course, but it is a bad repairperson who is trying to put something over on you. They are also outrageously expensive. They are supposedly "fixing" these shoes, but I don't think I will even pick them up now...15 year old shoes are not worth a $70 repair which is what I was charged last time. read more
