Just want to say that the owner of the shop, Pamela is such an angel…read more My experience started when I was crossing into Canada at the international border crossing just north of Watertown. Upon arriving at the border I got told to pull over to secondary to have my vehicle searched by Canadian Customs agents. They found my orchid mantises, which I didn't declare, long story short after over 2 hours, I could enter Canada but my pets couldn't. When I went to US Customs, one of the agents told me of a local shop in Watertown, a mom and pop shop; that no guarantee but maybe they might take care of them for a couple of days? Once I got there, I told Pamela my situation, and she let kindly agreed to watch over them while I was in Canada for a few days. Once I returned, I picked them up, healthy as ever. I also bought some Cory Catfish, and some dubia roaches to feed my mantises. Thank you once again Pamela, bless your heart!

The animals are severely overpriced, as well as the supplies. I am a ball python keeper and breeder myself, and these snakes are not kept to the best of the owners abilities. Honestly, who still uses aspen for ball pythons? Come on! At least lower your prices if you aren't going to take proper care of your animals. Out here charging more than Petco. If you are wanting to buy a reptile, make sure you go to MorphMarket.com and search the species and morph, and check prices, more often than not you're paying way too much!!

Phew! I thought they closed shop forever. They vacated their spot beside K-Mart and moved to the…read morecorner of Elm and Main Street. I have yet to check out their new set-up. Their previous place was spacious and they even had an indoor koi pond with fountain that was my daughter's favorite thing to look at. They had a good assortment of fish- nothing fancy or unusual. And they had birds out of their cages, and reptiles (thankfully kept in their tanks). They also had a supply of live crickets for the pets that need them. Sure, Wal-Mart sells their fish and supply cheaper but you don't get quality service. The people at Tri Lakes are quite knowledgeable about the pets they showcase. For example, I went in to get fish for my daughter who was only 2 then. I was just going to choose some random fish since my purpose was just to entertain and teach my kid about pets. Of course, before I could walk out with any fish, the gentleman interrogated me about my purpose and if I had a tank ready (of course, I didn't even have one!) and if I knew how to care for them, etc. I was annoyed that he was so intrusive. Just give me the fish will ya?! But, I later realized that he truly cared for the fish he was selling. He just wanted to make sure that I was getting the right fish for my purpose and that I would take good care of it. At the end, he recommended that I get a Betta fish and he explained how to condition, clean and control the temperature of the water. And thanks to his advice and careful instructions, "Seymour" is living healthy after 1 year and 5 months.
