We stopped by during a recent trip out west after a friend highly recommended the restaurant,…read moresaying it was the "best Chinese food in town" and a must-try. While the food was good, it did not quite live up to the hype. We ordered the roast duck, eggplant pot, and beef noodle soup. The roast duck was cooked ok, the eggplant pot was comforting, but sauce and flavor were not rich enough, but kids love the beef noodle dish. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but none of the dishes stood out as particularly memorable or unique. Service was pleasant, and the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, but based on our experience, it was good rather than exceptional.

When you order you can choose from a variety of noodle sizes (from thin to wide or thick), you can also choose your spice level. Protein is typically sliced beef shank and toppings include lots of green onions and cilantro. You are asked at the time of ordering if cilantro is okay. They have some new items on the menu like pickled veg with beef. Service is good and the place is incredibly clean. They have an open kitchen surrounded by glass (so you can see the noodles being made) and the glass was really clean...no streaks or anything. Seems silly to be impressed by this but given the stereotype of Asian restaurants, this was impressive. Service was good...we would come again when in the area.

We also tried the traditional beef noodles - I wish I had asked for spicy because it was bland for me even though I added chilli oil. The lady who served us was very nice. As we had not been here before she talked to us about all the different dishes. Asking us what we like and sharing the menu items that match our tastes. The ambience was good. Quite busy at lunch time. Most tables were full.

You *smell* it on the way in and it's positively fabulous how potent the garlic is. Service staff were stellar too, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys if you're nearby! Very kind service staff from start to finish. Didn't matter who's table it was, we were treated very well and had swift actions despite their busy peak hours. Interior is lovingly local with loads of signed art posters of shows while keeping furniture of decor looking pretty modern. Bread 5/5 Usually I highly prefer warm bread, but the bread was a nice spongey foccacia with a lovely chew paired with a fresh spicy olive oil dip. Good enough for some seconds! Garlic bisque - 5/5 Fresh black pepper grind for this boy as well! Super creamy, super delcious, fully delivers on all the garlicky glory. It was their only soup but I'd have another one to be frank. Didn't get a good picture of this sadly, but nice swirl presentation with the oil drizzle. Garlic frites - 5/5 This was probably the only dish I didn't think was garlic'ked to the high heavens, but it did have a nice light fry to them with a good and balanced seasoning to them. I'm not familiar with this cheese they use a lot of, but it does have a nice complexity to it without too much grease. The dip though, it was just beautiful with how smokey and much umami it had with a light citric bite at the end. Garlic's Burger - 4/5 The only critique I had with this was with the bun, which was unfortunately rather dry / thick compared to the burger itself. Otherwise it works pretty well in terms of composition as the buttery goodness of the roll blends with the rather tender patty (despite their 3oz. sizing they were remarkably tender even without much pink at all). The side we got was their caeser (option for fries or soup alternative). Very creamy (and garlicky, as promised by the name). Hot and smokey fettucine - 5/5 It was nothing like I imagined it when I ordered it, but remarkably creative as it was rather far from typical italian that I've had. Technique wise it was top notch, which edged it closer to a thai or chinese dry noodle stir fry without any obvious sauce base (afaik just oil and spicy pepper). Very solid amount of heat as a good medium for the spicy-minded, which is surprising given that it's the only item on the menu marked spicy. Flavor-wise the chicken came out closer to what I'd imagine sausage to be at with how smokey it tasted, but with a nice aroma to it from browning the noodles and garlic.

This is a very mom and pop shop, where the owners work in the restaurant and live upstairs. Since there are only two to three people working, the service is VERY slow - so you have been warned! We ordered a fu qi fei pian, mapo tofu, and a beef shank pancake/wrap. The fu qi fei pian was utterly delicious!!! It wasn't overly oily nor spicy, but the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and sweet. The peanuts were delightfully crunchy, and the tripe and beef shank were very well done as well. Definitely our favourite dish. The beef wrap came in a lovely flaky crust... but the entire execution was spoiled by the fact that the wrap came overloaded with excessive hoisin sauce. The beef taste was therefore completely masked, and all I could taste was the sickening sweetness and saltiness of the sauce. What a shame! Finally, the mapo tofu. At first taste, it was very good and tasty. However, you will notice immediately that it is quite salty! Okay to have with rice, but could definitely use some more tofu to balance out the extreme saltiness. The dishes are well done, but a bit too overpowering in flavour. The service is friendly, albeit slow. Still a good find in London!

After reading other reviews online we decided to try this. The concept is simple, they seat you on a table then you scan the QR code to order, then the food will come and you pay the bill online simple. The restaurant is super clean and nice. It has a modern coffee shop vibe. You don't expect to eat authentic Chinese food here. But the food is great. I got beef and chicken skin on a stick, they both are flavorful and got great spicy on it. Then the noodles soup was great with Sour and Spicy base, wish it has more meat. Then the fried bun was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The intestines were little on the blend side. But overall the food was great. London is a great stopping point between Detroit and Toronto, so if you happen to stop by try this place out.
