Where do I even begin. I went to ship a birthday gift for my daughter-in-law a few days ago. It is her birthday in two weeks. When I got there, there were two people working, and the shorter older lady was YELLING at people and telling them to go somewhere else for their services. The younger gentleman was kind, but he wanted to charge me nearly $100 dollars for a small package that wouldn't even get there for over a week. I asked to speak to a manager and they told me he doesn't even come in. I ended up paying that ABSURD amount because my poor daughter-in-law WON'T be spending this birthday without a gift from me. I wish I had read the reviews in here AND the ones on the Google because boy-oh-boy are they accurate. I would rather get on my hands and knees and crawl to the Postal Office than go here ever again. read more

She was intent on destroying a document and didn't understand what I was saying. Poor customer service. Unwilling to help. I had a return to Asia and she refused to lookup shipment costs for me. I had the address printed & she refused to help because she demanded I tell her what country the return was going to. She manages shipping for a living, I expect to be able to walk into the store with the address & not have to do the work myself. I provided everything she needed. Highly unprofessional. And given the lack of business I routinely see this place getting -- I can't see how it'll stay in business when customers are run off. read more

Understaffed and rude. The person that helped me was clearly flustered and confused about the services that they say they provide.

Store closes at 4, but computers shut down 10 mins early and you can't mail things out. Don't advertise you are open until a certain time if computers close earlier. read more

I had the most awful experience here that I could have never imagined possible. My friend sent me a package via USPS and was confirmed to be delivered on the 15th. I went into the store on Monday the 15th and the owner (a heavyset man with a handlebar mustache) told me that it wasn't there. I then came back this morning after looking up the tracking number and seeing that it was confirmed delivered and asked if it was received. The same man told me no he didn't have anything, when I asked if he could look up the tracking info he told me no. My friend then called him and asked him to look up the tracking number which he looked up with no problems and located my package. I went back in to get my package with my friend on speaker phone and he put the blame back on me and told me that he put it in another persons box because even though my postal box number and my first name were correct that because my last name (maiden name) was used and he put it in the postal box that belonged to someone with the same last name. He also told me it was a federal offense to put a different name on a package... A Federal offense for my friend to address a package to me using my LEGAL BIRTH NAME... REALLY? I asked him why he couldn't look up the tracking number and he blew me off again and said it wouldn't have made a difference because he doesn't work for the post office. My friend on the line said "well you looked it up for me!" And he immediately without any hesitation told me to F@$k off and get out of his store and he was closing my mail box. His hostility was to out of nowhere and scary. I'm so shook right now. I have NEVER been treated this way in any business establishment. This place needs a new owner immediately. UPDATE: After looking at my package carefully the "checked in" sticker placed on the package by the Postal Annex says it was given to a person with a name that's not even remotely similar to mine. The arrogant owner put my package in post box #252 instead of my correct box #352. Instead of acting like a normal person and just apologizing for the mishap he tried to protect his ego justify himself while trying to make me feel like I was some criminal. See pic. read more

These folks are incredibly accommodating. I've never had bad service from them. They take almost any kind of shipping, including USPS returns for vendors. I had to return something to Tamu, which seems to be a common occurrence, and they didn't even blink. No need to go to the post office. They're just so informative and helpful! read more

I have received incorrect information from this location on two separate occasions. Both times it caused delay in receipt of a letter by the United States Postal Service. I explained to the person at the Postal Annex that I needed to send a letter to a difficult neighbor. The neighbor doesn't answer his door and I just wanted the postal carrier to sign that it had been delivered. I DID NOT want the neighbor to have to sign for receipt of the letter. He told me to send it certified mail which I did and paid $5.15. So, fast forward to today, I received a text message notification the carrier attempted to deliver, a notice was left at the address and there was no authorized recipient!! This is EXACTLY what I didn't want to happen. I will never use one of these places again especially not this place since this is the second time I've gotten bad information from here. Just go to the Post Office cuz they know what they're doing. These guys simply don't. Now I have to deal with this situation all over again. I'm not sure why the USPS gives these folks authority to do this work when they can't get it right. I am greatly disturbed by this. read more

Wow- I can't believe the unprofessional treatment here - rude and complained the whole time - will never go back

My family and I were on vacation from Hawaii and we came in here one evening with TON of collectibles that we needed to ship home. Susan was as friendly and as helpful as can be! She helped with measurements and box sizes and offered spare stuffing, paper and bubble wrap to help pack our boxes. She then gave us quotes for different shipping methods. Our largest box was going to cost over $800 at first. But Susan worked some numbers, explored different carriers and made some calls and was able to figure out a bit of a better price. She was so kind and so helpful! We knew we came to the right location! We left with peace of mind knowing that our valuables were going to make it home safe and sound. Thank you Susan! read more

Realizing I need to mail some socks, I decide to stop by the PostalAnnex for an envelope. The following conversation ensued: Me: "Do you have any of those envelopes the Post Office provides for free?" Employee: "Those aren't actually free. The Post Office gives them to you with the understanding that you will come back and use their service." Me: "Well...yeah...I know that. I'm not going to store things in it. I was just trying to describe what I was looking for." Employee: "Well you would be surprised! People take them and just use them for storage!" ... Needless to say, the employee eventually produced a flat-rate, padded envelope but didn't have any non-padded or Tyvek products that USPS has available. She then explained that I could buy one of their plastic, non-padded envelopes for $1.50. That seemed pretty overpriced, so I decided to leave without anything and go to the Post Office instead. I don't think I'll come back to this PostalAnnex. I've actually had pretty good experiences with other locations in the past, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't looking to be accused of taking an envelope and then not using it nor was I looking to be educated on the correct use of the word 'free'. I just wanted an envelope, which I wasn't even able to obtain. Not worth the hassle. read more

I dropped off 4 FedEx packages for pickup. 3 packages are tracking and the other package is lost saying it was never picked up. It was an Apple Watch return ($500!) and it has mysteriously disappeared. PostalAnnex is being very dismissive about my package and refuses to consider that they made any mistakes. They won't give a receipt when a package is dropped off so they gave zero accountability. Don't use this service if your shipment is valuable!! read more

When moving to California I dropped off some boxes of items to be shredded. Unfortunately one of those included my HS/College diplomas, awards from work and college, and a number of other personal items. I received an email from the team at the store that these items had been left and if I wanted them shipped to me. They went out of their way to resolve what was my mistake. I understand they need to make a profit, but I was quoted $25 for my padded envelope when the post office charged $3.28. The sales person insisted that the USPS would also charge $25. This huge price gouging has happened before which is why I think it's worth waiting in line at the Post Office instead. read more

I've always used this location to ship my packages. Today I look up on my maps and it says they close at 7pm. I called to confirm at 5:30pm and I get voicemail that says they are with another customer and they close at 7pm. I get here and they closed at 5:00pm. It would be nice to update maps or at the least have the correct information on your voicemail message. read more

I have been here in the past and while my service has been barely courteous I haven't been treated rudely. Today, I went in to drop off two packages and purchase an envelope for another. I believe the gentleman that assisted me is the owner. When I brought my purchase up I realized I had no cash and when I said I needed to use a card he rudely informed me it was an additional 40 cents for purchase under two dollars. I did not have cash and said I will have to do that since I don't have cash. At that point, he became almost hostile and snatched my canard, processes it, slammed the receipt down and slapped my card back on the counter. He did not speak another word to me until I said have a nice day and left. I will NEVER return here. Despite the fact that I run a business right across the street, I will drive to the UPS store by Fred Meyer. Terrible service. Postal annex in general is awesome! But the one in cedar hill has great customer service. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They love to answer any of your mailing questions and help you save money! The only reason i gave a 4 instead of 5 star review because at times there is only one person on duty and it can get busy. You might have to wait a bit. But its totally worth it and no where near as long as the local post office. read more

The cool thing about postal annex is that after your first time there they save all your information and who you ship to. So if you ship to the same people a lot you can just tell them your name and who you are shipping to and they take care of the rest. So hassle free! Plus I don't have to have my shipping box or envelope when I get there. I just bring in the stuff I want to ship and they will find me the perfect box/envelope and package it for me! This place is not a Post Office. It's also not affiliated with the Postal Service. It is a private enterprise that charges you much more to basically deliver your package or envelope to an actual post office, usually just up the street. The owner (or guy who helped me) is very rude and lies to you. Said that overnight is not Guaranteed and that the Postal Service does not even guarantee overnight delivery on their Overnight Delivery mail. When I said I just mailed a package the day before at the Post Office it did get to its destination, guaranteed. He said, I got lucky and that I should read the fine print next time. So he basically called me a liar. Also, $38 for what the Post office charges $23 for. And only guarantees 2 day delivery. This is definitely a private, for profit - huge profit, enterprise. I don't have a problem with a business making profit, but to lie to me about being a postal employee and then bad mouthing the US Postal Service and charging me more money on top of that. Really? Of course I politely left and went to the Post Office down the street and was taken care of by a real and honest Postal Service Employee and at the true cost for the mailing. Just beware before purchasing any services from an "Annex", especially from this rude and condescending establishment. read more

I have another year on my postal box there. I will be getting a different one when my year is up. They do not like answering questions. When I call to ask a question I get a sigh and a rude "let me check" and the phone is dropped on the counter. This has happened at least 4 times. I've stopped calling and just go in now in person since using the telephone seems to be too troublesome for them. Additionally, yesterday I went in to mail a return and the girl was real confused as to how to do it. I had printed the return label and had the box. All that had to be done was put it in a mailing box or envelope, put the return label on with tape and put it in the mailing bin. After I've been at work all day doing my job, I don't want to go to somebody else's job and tell them how to do theirs. And actually, more to the point, maybe I would have been more accommodating to her incompetence if I had been greeted with a smile instead of the pained look on her face and no good afternoon greeting or anything of the professional sort. I made a huge mistake today when I used Postal Annex to mail two packages. I was charged $11 for each box and $3.15 for labor when the employee placed my item in the box. The package went UPS ground and the total for each was over $35. I will never use this service again. I feel totally ripped off. read more
