This overdue review is to commend PosiGen Solutions to anyone who wants to save money, and the earth, by going solar. John Testa was our salesman, he was very patient, and thoroughly answered all of our questions. The installation process began quickly, and we had a wonderful experience due, largely, to Brendan Breen. He is the guy who 'gets it done'. He was unfailingly courteous, and supremely unflappable during all of our interactions. When we wanted adjustments to our array, he didn't blink an eye, he just gathered the troops and got things done. He is NOT afraid to get his hands dirty, either. I saw him digging the trench a touch wider. He has a quiet authority, and a subtle sense of humor that makes him an easy guy to work with. I was very impressed that he would call me when I texted him. He did not hide behind emails. He was completely confident, and so, made us very relaxed about the company PosiGen Solutions. We knew we were in good hands. Did I mention our electric bill is a fraction of what is was? 5 stars! read more

In November of 2024, I purchased my first home ever using the VA home loan I earned by enlisting in the U.S. military. During the sales process, I was asked if I wanted to purchase or lease the solar on the home. The asking price was $14,000, which I thankfully declined. Fast forward it to now, I have been paying my electric company and the solar company every month for over a year and longer. After more observations were made on the solar edge app, I have come to realize that the panels that are on my home are grossly underproducing for the demand for consumption me and my family use. Long story short, the salesman at posigen attempted to sell me 10-14 panels without a battery on my home that doesn't even cover my consumption demands. Unreal work. Finally, the builders of the homes should've chosen a better solar company to be contracted with. What a sleeve. read more

I won't give my opinion in this review. I'll simply tell you what happened, and let you be the judge. At the end of March, we closed on a house in that came with PosiGen solar, which had been installed just a few months prior. We basically had to take on the contract to get the house. I did, and paid the initial bills. They were very proactive in contacting me to make sure I signed the transfer of the contract and knew when payments were due (you'll soon see why this is interesting). All was well at first. Low electric bill, banking our solar energy, good times. Then, in mid-June, I received my National Grid bill, which was much more than I expected based on the previous two months, and, upon closer inspection, saw that I had no solar credit. I immediately called PosiGen. They said that yes, indeed, my system was not working and had not been working for about a month. They said their processes are automated, and there was an open ticket to repair it, but the equipment was not yet available, and their policy is to notify customers when the equipment is available to install, not when it is not working. At best, a horrible policy, at worst complete BS (OK, some of my opinion may have snuck in there). One of the sunniest months of the year passed with my solar not working, and the company that installed it, monitors it, and owns it not informing me. While they said I would not have to pay the bill for that month (so generous), they said there was no way to credit me for the electricity I should have been generating. When I asked for a timeline, they said it could be a week, it could be several weeks, depending on when the equipment was available. Miracle of miracles, within an hour or two, I received a call that the equipment was available, and they could install it just a couple of days later, which they did. I saw that my online activity did not show any generation credits, but they said that is just a snapshot and is not in real time, so I should have no fear. Fast forward to the next month. Read the above paragraphs again to see what happened. The new equipment they installed did not work. I again only knew because I went online to see the state of my account, and saw no kilowatt-hour credits, nor any solar credit from National Grid. Basically, I'm out-of-pocket two months electric bill, and whatever I would have saved from the solar I would have generated over the sunniest two months of the year. The only recompense offered is that I would not have to pay their monthly fee for the time it has not been working. I asked (reasonably, I thought) for them to reimburse me for my electric bills and/or credit my account some kilowatt hours, but was told that was not possible. Once again, they said that they didn't know when the equipment would be available, then magically called me a few hours later to say it was and they could install it, which they did. They also notified me that after that, they would be in touch to discuss possible credits to my account. Two months later, I still eagerly await that call, although they did call me to tell me my bill was overdue (I had told them I would pay it when I saw the solar credit on my National Grid bill, since their history of honesty had been sketchy). This is month 5 of a 25-year contract that I inherited with brand new equipment that twice has not worked. I'm sure it will be a long and interesting relationship. I will predict now that they will read this, apologize again, and say that they don't want their customers to be treated like this and they understand my frustration. They train their reps on the phones very well to say all the right things. But when it comes to actual customer satisfaction and getting things done, I'll let you decide. read more

Things were going well and the panels and system went up quickly. Then 6 months later, after many phone calls and being put off and things being blamed on the city, 6 months later, everything ready to be activated, no word. Being informed of a date someone would be coming out to activate if (two weeks after everything was ready) and then the day before receiving an email informing me that the company is experiencing financial problems and our system will not be activated. Now we have a system with no activation after a yearlong ordeal! read more

The rep that visited our home made the process so seamless. He was clear, patient and allowed for as many questions as we had without getting frustrated. He was knowledgeable. read more

PosiGen is making me regret my decision to go solar. My panels were not generating for an entire month, before I, not the company that's supposed to be monitoring my system (PosiGen), realized there was an issue! I got a $500 bill from the electric company. I called Patterson Solutions who sold me my panels, was referred to PosiGen and Power (the company used to install the panels). I had a bad inverter, it took 2 weeks for them to come out, only to realize the replacement inverter was also bad. Another 2 weeks past (now 2 months with no solar production, another $400+ bill from Electric company) and they finally say I'm up and operational, only the monitoring company says it'll be another 30 days before they see thw production. Mind you my Solar Edge App still shows no production. Customer service told me different stories of how this would be handled, and the original rep I spoke with is appearantly no longer with the company. PosiGens solution was to credit me 2 months of off my lease, but only if I signed an agreement. They still want me to pay ACE the 1k for the 2 months their network failed to notify them that the panels weren't generating, in addition to my $185 lease through them for the panels. What was supposed to be saving me money, if costing me through the roof, pun intended. I say buyer beware if you're considering switching to solar and your sales rep says you're going through PosiGen. Nobody is monitoring the system on their end, so if something hits the fan, it's ALLLLLL on you, and I get the feeling they couldn't care less. I need to follow up in another 3 weeks to see if they show production. And guess what, if they dont, I'll be expected to pay ACE another $4-500 in addition to $185 for my lease. To note, there is a production guarantee, so some may be coming back to me, but they don't look at thw production guarantees until the years end. Im assuming that I'll need to follow up with them on that as well. Very frustrating dealing with PosiGen. read more

Stay away from this company. All they do is screw people. I've tried to get help for along time now because these panels are not saving me money. They keep saying they will have someone call me back and don't. I'm putting out more money a month now then I did before. I said if your not gonna help me come take your panels off my house. I was told I'd have to pay over 10,000 to do so. That is the definition of of screwing their customers. This company is scamming people. read more

PosiGen New Orleans has broken our contractual lease agreement, but claims I broke the lease. After more than seven years, the panels have not lived up to the hype touted by PosiGen's sales force. In an email dated 5/18/2021; a representative acknowledged, via their online monitoring portal, that my average monthly savings was less than $23.00. "We are truly sorry if your Solar sales agent misquoted your savings potential. Your average savings has been $72.72- $50 = ($264 yearly savings). We understand your disappointment and apologize for any inconvenience that we may have caused you." I was initially drawn to solar energy by PosiGen's ads of monthly savings in excess of $100.00 and energy bills of $20.00. During those seven years, PosiGen has only reached out to us twice. The first was an attempt to garner leads (additional sales). The second was after I stopped automatic payments when PosiGen refused to perform a required maintenance procedure. That maintenance procedure was simply a request to clean the panels. New Orleans has a very humid climate. After seven years, the panels are not producing the amount of energy required to substantiate a marginal energy savings. The accumulation of mildew, bird droppings, and pollution from the Chalmette Refinery has contributed to an estimated 70% reduction in solar output. The last straw was being told by a customer service rep that PosiGen would not clean the panels; and that I could climb a ladder to clean them myself. This reply was the catalyst for my request to remove the panels and terminate the lease. Shortly after, I was contacted by a personable individual at my home. He proposed a solution that would bring my account into good standing and have the panels cleaned. I agreed to his proposal, however, when the scheduled cleaning did not transpire, once again, I stopped automatic payments. PosiGen's response was to send out, unannounced, an individual who claimed he had come to clean the panels (clearly, an attempt at a CYA effort to document the service was offered). During the interim, the panels had been turned off, and were no longer actively producing energy. Despite PosiGen's active monitoring, that didn't stop billing with overdue charges (late fees). Since my initial request, in July of 2020, four additional requests have been made to various PosiGen representatives to have the solar panels removed from my home. PosiGen's response is to have their in-house lawyer intimidate me with legal actions. They insist I foot the bill for the solar array removal ($1,800.00), and an unearned past due balance. A little research (web-browsing) indicates that I am not the first, and probably won't be the last, to be defrauded by PosiGen. Bottom line . . . PosiGen may be a solution for some, but not for this guy! PosiGen Account Contract Number: 223072 read more

I most be one of the lucky ones my experience has been excellent. from start to finish I think it took less then 90 days from sales rep coming out to meet and installation. There was like a 45 day delay after the panels were on my roof before they got connected. They gave me a story about having staff issues, whatever that meant. I gave them 5 stars because besides that delay nothing has gone wrong. I've had them up for a year and I've been saving crazy money. my light bill was $0 for 6 months I even got a negative $9 bill. Now I've been averaging $9 a month plus $54 to posigen. I have to have them remove them to replace my roof I hope my experience is just as good. I was looking up there number when I ran into the reviews. read more

The phone salesman was ill informed and failed to acknowledge what Posigen's services included - it took two minutes to realize they were providing solar estimates. Then on the day of the assessment they were a no call no show. I emailed and advised that I had left the utility statement on the porch as I was already late for work - email reply said that my roof was not compatible. Some notice would have been nice. Poor business practices, terrible communication and surely a weak product assuming the experience is a reflection of product. read more

PosiGen is ready to take advantage of older people with dementia. Just called to try to cancel an appointment that was made by my husband, who isn't thinking correctly, and even though he did not schedule an appointment with them (with some other company), after repeatedly telling them that my husband is not in his right mind, she continued to try to sell us solar panels. I'm so disgusted. Do not call and be sure to flag their phone number if you have elderly parents. read more

PosiGen Solar system which was installed a couple of years ago has been working for over a year and stopped generating power 5 months ago. And the way I found out was by looking at energy bills at the Utility company which sent me an alert saying that I am using too much electricity. PosiGen had known about it and ordered a part (an inverter) which they have been waiting for several months. They never contacted me about the issue. They do not monitor their own installed solar systems routinely. The burden is on the home owner according to them. In these 5 months my electric Utility bills racked up close to $1000 which PosiGen says will never reimburse. After repeated phone calls they offered first an extension of 25 year contract by 3 additional months and I know I will not live that long to benefit from it. After further complaint they offered to credit 5 months of contract payments ($120/month - a constant amount for the entire 25 year contract). As of now the solar system is still down and their customers service is disappointingly poor and would not tell me when the system will be restored - the same message I heard a months ago when I first contacted. read more

I called PosiGen to talk about solar panels & to schedule an appointment. Day of appointment, THEY called me to cancel saying I had too many trees and wouldn't generate enough sunlight for solar panels. I told the same guy, "John", who made my appointment, that I had MANY appointments already scheduled for tree services to give me estimates for tree removal/trimming for after their visit so I knew what tree work had to be done. I had panels installed on my house about 8 months ago. Salesman promised new breaker panel and quick install. Panels were on the roof within a month however never hooked into the grid. 4 months go by without a phone call back. I told them I want them removed since they never held up their end of the contract. I'm being told I have to pay over $3000 to have the panels removed even though they have never been hooked into the grid. A manager from posigen threatened me with his legal team after telling me there is no clause in my contract about breaking the lease. I'm also not considered an actual customer because the panels aren't hooked into the grid. I was told prior to this manager calling me by 8 different customer service agents that there would no charge to remove the panels because they are not fully hooked up to the install is not complete. They also broke into my house when putting the panels on the roof, no one was home and the doors were locked. They also left a mess of caulk tubes, zip ties, plastic and cardboard all over my yard and refused to come and clean it up. Stay away from this company, they don't care about customers. read more

We were approved for solar and got to the point where the project person came out to check our roof and electric panels. Good to go. Next I get a call that oh, the project team decided that we still wouldn't have enough sun to generate due to a tree that I was told twice that it wasn't a problem. They even brought two different designs to our attention. I told my rep to destroy the referral list and that we are pissed they have our personal information from our pay stubs. They are a bunch of morons. Our time was also wasted for 4 hours for the actual sales pitch and paperwork and then another morning for the roof and electrical panel inspection. We will still look for other solar energy companies. read more

POSIGEN sounds like a great concept, IF they can execute. I found out the hard way, that they cannot execute everything needed to get you up and running with Solar Panel Installation in a timely manner. I have the panels on my roof, installed in April 2017, thought I was off to a good start and communication from the company was good. There's where it all started to fall apart. Throughout the rest of the installation things started to diminish quickly. I had asked to have one point of contact to ease communication and ensure that we were on the same page. Basically, that turned into me becoming a general contractor and having to contact them through every step of the installation, and I was force to PUSH them. What an unorganized company! I have been pushing to get the installation DONE before June/July, even August time frame to ensure that I get the benefit of having solar panels, to reduce electricity costs through the most expensive months, when the AC is running. They offered me and additional 6 months of a $20 payment(instead of $100/month, which is the cost of the system rental) due to the lack of a timely installation. Seems fair, right?? Wrong. Just check the math. I would normally pay around $800 for June/July/August Electricity bill, so they offered me an additional 6 months @ $20/month after the installation is complete. So, essentially saving me $80/month or $480/6 months, AFTER the installation. So, even there incentive wasn't a REAL savings. I do understand the fast that I will get that June July August savings at the end of the 20 year rental agreement, but do you really think I care that I'm saving that money in 20 years?? no, I want to save it NOW. I now have to pay for the expensive months because they just couldn't commit to getting the work done. To top it all off, after they spoke to my wife, and sent me the below email, I responded to Posigen to tell them how dissatisfied I was with their lack of commitment to the customer and the poor communication. Below is the email thread. I removed my last name and the last name of the individual from Posigen that emailed us. Mr./Mrs. K, As per our conversation today, PosiGen is going to extend the promotion that you already have for an additional 6 months. You will now be getting the first 12 months for $20.00. Thank you, Julie Account Manager PosiGen Solar 504-293-5746 From: Joseph K Sent: Friday, August 4, 2017 5:43:55 AM To: Julie Subject: RE: PosiGen Solar Julie- I must say that we are more than displeased with the efforts of Posigen to complete our initial agreement in a timely fashion. We had our first consultation in April, and the team at Posigen has been so slow to setup the following steps, that we are now waiting, with Solar Panels installed, and we are not able to take advantage of the savings for the months that cost us the most money in Electricity (June, July and August). I understand that you are giving us the $20 fee instead of the $100 fee for an extra 6 months, but that does satisfy us. You essentially saved us $80 x 6 months, so $480, and our bills for electricity for June, July and August will be around $800. So how does that benefit us? You make a very nice attempt at making things right, but you can clearly see by some simple math that they are not. I understand that we should see those savings in 20 years, when we come around to the final June, July, August, but saving that money at the END of a 20 year contract is NOT what a "valued" customer wants to hear. I will not be referring Posigen for any additional work for our families or friends, and I will submit several reviews of your company online to deter any people from making the same mistake we seem to have made. Regards, Joe Mr. K, I reached out to the CEO Tom Neyhard and asked him to give you a call. There may be something that he can do to help you. Thank you, Julie Account Manager Posigen Solar ________________________________________ Last update- I gave them time for the CEO to respond, and I did not receive a phone call, so that's why I'm posting this to YELP. I have already posted my review on this site and have no idea why it's not here. PosiGen installed solar panels on my roof over two years ago and it's been such a blessing that I have been telling everyone about the tremendous savings and financial benefits I'm now able to enjoy because of PosiGen. They installed my panels with no money down and does not have any credit score requirement. Furthermore, their rates are fixed and absolutely far less than any other quote received from other solar companies. So far Posigen sucks, they came and only hooked up the panels which was expected but they left nails, 3 inch screws, cut wires, and trash on my lawn, I have 1 child and 1 on the way, that's dangerous especially now with the snow coming and my child is playing in the snow. I called them and heard nothing back, I called again and was told someone would call me and no one has. They were done in 3 hours so I can only imagine how messed up those panles are since they left a mess in my yard. We are the only ones now on this block with solar, you would think they would want to do a model job, then the electrician unwraps his cigar and throws his wrapper on my yard, this after i made him a cup of coffee, they also knocked 3 screens out of my gutter and they noticed because i watched them point at them as they were leaving so i went out to see what they pointed at and thats when i noticed my screens were knocked out of position, just a lack of respect all around.
