Do NOT recommend! The owner is extremely rude and feels it's her way to style the curl or no way at all. Unless you want to walk out of there with curly hair from the 80's then I don't recommend you paying this salon a visit. The cut wasn't bad, it was the styling that was just wayyyyy too outdated for me. Wet looking curls, and the frizz was out of control with the products used. read more

My hair wasn't ready for a cut. We decided to let it grow. However, Joanne went on with washing my hair and the steps to take using the products I purchased. Amazing what I learned about taking care of my naturally curly hair. And it looked adorable. We should not wash our hair more than twice a week. So I slept on it for three days before washing it and I can say each day it looked great. Not a regular salon... Specializes in curls only which-looking for amazing. What a difference. read more

this was honestly the worst haircut i have ever got unfortunately. I asked for face framing layers in the FRONT and she gave me layers all around and i also said U shape. she gave me a V shape with one section of hair which looks sooo thin in the back thats the longest. my hair looks more dead and thin now and it was doing really healthy i just wanted a shape around my face. this is going to take years to grow back. she also left my hair super tangled and sent me away with a rats nest. i will never be coming back. read more

Annette is hands down the best stylist I have ever had. I have frizzy curly hair, probably either 3A or 3B, and my devacut turned out amazing. It took literally only 10 minutes to cut it into the perfect shape - The rest of the hour was taken up washing and drying my hair. The washing part of devacut was interactive, and helped make sure I knew what to do moving forward. Annette was incredibly friendly (as were the other staff) and was great at making new customers feel comfortable right away. The salon is pretty small, but large enough for their practice. They sell a large variety of Devacurl products, and Annette is experienced enough to know exactly what you need - and don't need. I will definitely be back here in the future for my 6 month touch up. I recommend this place for anyone with curly hair and looking for a devacut to help manage the mess. read more

I had my first Deva Cut from Annette a few days ago and all I can say is why did I wait so long??? The location is easy to access and park. Annette and her assistant are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The consultation with Annette was very helpful and reassuring - she's clearly very trained and experienced with curly hair. I showed her pictures, she told me what was realistic. She and her assistant were informative and educational every step of the way and made sure I left feeling 100% satisfied. I saw amazing DevaCut transformations on Posh's Instagram and Facebook pages and figured that since the salon only does DevaCuts/cares for curly hair my teen daughter and I would be in excellent hands with our 3b-4a hair. We've been going to another salon for DevaCuts for 2 years and figures we'd try out a new place. We both completely trusted Annette and let her do her thing. When I sat in the chair and she started pulling my curls to elongate them and I knew we were off to a bad start. I figured she knew what she was doing so I trusted her and let her do the DevaCut. She said she wanted to give me bangs and shape up my current DevaCut. Okay, I've never had bangs before so I thought a change was a good thing.....WRONG! Since my curls were stretched my bangs are too short and so are the "layers" she gave me. I honestly look like I have a mullet. Annette said getting Pintura highlights would make my curls pop but the thought of paying $90ish more for that when I wasn't so sure about the haircut wasn't appealing to me. Getting my hair washed wasn't much better. Too much conditioner was left in and after I was done in the dryer and they told me to shake out my hair there was a bunch of residue falling on the floor. My hair just felt like it had way too much product in it. My daughter got her haircut when I was getting my hair washed so I didn't see what was going on. She ended up with bangs too and she HATES them. The layers in her hair look very obvious almost to the point of looking like an upside down Christmas tree (if that makes any sense). She also had too much conditioner left in after her wash. She never wore a ponytail and now that's all she'll wear because she said her hair looks like she's from the 1980s. After we were done neither one of us was happy but I didn't want to be rude because I was hoping that when I got home I would be able make our hair look better. I paid the $300 for the cuts and a $60 tip. When we got home we rinsed out some of the conditioner and tried to style our hair the way Annette did and the way we normally so and nothing we did could make our haircuts better. I was really hoping we'd walk out with incredible haircuts but we ended up with absolute disappointment and a complete waste of $360. When we were there I saw the work she does and all of the women had beautiful haircuts. I'm not sure what happened with my daughter and me. Unfortunately, our experience guaranteed that we won't be back and I just can't recommend this salon. Maybe you'll have a better result than we did if you choose to go. From now on we're going back to Jen at Fringe in Lombard. read more

Annette was super nice. She's a level 3 Deva stylist and has been with the Deva system since 2009. I love the cut. She maintained the length and fixed the shelf I had. The cut was $150, so admittedly that is expensive BUT you'd only need a cut once or twice a year. read more
