Appointment unfortunately erased by the computer - they( husband and wife(owners)) would scramble to fit me in -telling me to come back later or wait until my stylist arrived. 2. Hair stylist who had been cutting my hair, moved away. Salon owners said they booked me with the stylist's friend. Yet on the subsequent 3 appointments, new stylist not at salon for one reason or another. 2 times she finally arrived later than my booked time. 3. Caused me a feeling of humiliation, worthlessnes, uncomfortably , while sitting in a chair waiting for stylist to arrive, the 2 owners, behind desk communicating in their language which I do not understand, spoke loud enough for me to hear that they "seemed not to know what to do for me. After around 20 minutes waiting, I left salon. I never even received a phone call or text of apology. I don't recommend this salon for individuals who are not part of the so called ethnic community. She keeps my hair looking super healthy and is such a sweetheart. I like getting around 1" give or take cut off for healthy ends. She is very skilled as far as her precision goes and great at guiding with her expertise when it comes to shape and length. She also gives great product recommendations I should mention! She cut my face framing pieces perfectly, and my hair is very even, thick, and healthy looking each time I leave her chair. She preps the hair thoroughly and gets it pin straight to achieve a flawless cut. My hair is 3b texture naturally , but I always blow dry and silk press it a day before my appointment. I personally like how much more even my cuts come out when they are done on fully straightened hair, because then when it is curly again it looks better than when I used to get devacuts and curly hair cuts. Not sure if that's because curly hair has a mind of its own but I take very good care of it so it's not an issue with maintenance, haha. If you have curly hair I recommend trying it! The ambience of this salon is professional , clean, accommodating and spacious. The front desk staff ladies are wonderful and polite they acknowledge all the clients who walk through their doors with kindness. I like that they bring you a drink of water when you arrive if you want one. It is quite a busy and happening salon so I like to visit on early week days before noon. I think $80 is a good price for a perfect haircut and shape up- mind you, pricing varies slightly more or less based on the stylist you select. Spa Bleu also gives rave-worthy facials. I have purchased and re purchased for my mom on many occasions and she says this spot is her favorite because of how relaxing and long the facials here. She says it is her special spa for when she wants to treat herself extra if she is not visiting her normal cosmetologist that month. Her go to treatment is the 1 hour Custom Tulasara Facial 60 Min, neck & decollete, and LED Therapy add on with Paula! Try out Spa Bleu if you are looking for a great haircare and facial spot! I've tried several styles and Ms. Ahn perfects the styles every time. Now I stick to the one I like, since I've going to Ms. Ahn for many years (10+). This is premium Korean hair care. There's always a saying "you get what you pay for". I've tried other spot in Chicagoland and it's not what you would get at Kim Sun Young. Sure, I can pay cheaper but the quality I got was not the same, so I always return to Ms. Ahn to take care of my hair. With my digital perm, she explains to me how to care for my curls, and also let me know how the condition of my hair/scalp is and what I need to do to get improve my hair health. I made an appointment about 3 weeks in advance for a Friday morning digital perm. It typically takes 3-4 hours for the perm. With my iPad and AirPod, time flies by while I'm watching the show. They also have a small "earcap" that looks like a shower cap so your ears are protected & my AirPod. I get a cut first, then a perm. Friday afternoon with 3 hair professionals and 2 assistants. They are busy because they are able to work simultaneous while the perm client is waiting for perm chemical to settle into the hair, they can do a hair cut.

I went in for a Dry Style and it was everything I wanted and more. My appointment was at 9am but I got there a few minutes early and they were able to take me right away which I really appreciated. My hair took a total of 25 minutes which blew me away given I do have a lot of hair but it was absolutely beautiful and everything I wanted. I wish I remembered the name of the girl who did my hair as she was awesome - super professional from start to finish and even stopped a few times to get an idea on if I liked the progress and for any feedback, if necessary.
