I've been going to see Judith for a couple of years now for a trim on my long hair. I decided I needed a change and trusted her to cut off about 5 inches to shoulder length. I even got highlights. I am thrilled with the results and have gotten so many compliments. Judith is skilled, reasonable and the nicest person..I highly recommend her. She listens, gives suggestions and considers the cut before she starts cutting. She goes above and beyond skillfully read more

Good luck getting a call back. I left few messages over the last 2 weeks (5 to be exact) to make an appointment for me and my aunt. I spoke once to the owner, Judith, and said she is short staffed. Also, the salon is only open few days in the week. I haven't been able to make an appointment because she hasn't called back. She did say she would honor the cost of the Groupon I found, but reviews show she charges extra without prior notice. I personally don't have the capacity to call a place on five different occasions and fight for an appointment to save a few pennies. Reviews on Yelp are mostly for the keratin treatment. A monkey could do that (I went to beauty school and worked for salons all through my childhood). There are zero reviews on highlighting Indian hair. I was so excited to give this place a chance. Probably dodged a bullet. Goodbye, Judith. read more

Went in for a last minute trim at "Groupon" price of $40. Would have been more like $36 but I didn't argue because that would have been mean. The shop is in a dying area of weird commercial stores from the 1950s, by the train tracks in older Arlington Heights and definitely didn't need me to pile on. Interior looks like it has seen better days and like a lot of things needs a major update. The owner seems nice but had no idea on getting to the style I wanted and did not condition my hair at all. Seriously a fail on what was promised and definitely lost an opportunity to get a new customer. Not sure if maybe coloring is her best skill but it's definitely not styling, or even conditioning JFC my hair is better after I use Joico at home. read more

Judith is amazing. Did a beautiful job w my color highlights and cut. Gives you what you want and delivers what you need as well!!

Can't say enough about the way Judith at True Salon does my hair, she's amazing at color and styles, I never have to tell her what to do and I'm always pleased. She's also reasonably priced too. So happy every time I leave My daughters too we are happy customers of Judith read more

Found this place on Groupon. They provide a variety of services, I chose to try their keratin treatment to tame the frizz before summer rolls around. The stylist is Judy, she is the only one that does the treatment via Groupon. Not listed on the Groupon, but they will charge $20 extra if you have longer hair. She will shampoo your hair, use a clarifier, apply the treatment, have you heat dry it, then she will straighten it. You can't wash your hair for 3 days and have to straighten it again those days to help lock in the keratin. I have now washed my hair, which is usually wavy/curly and frizzy, and it's less frizzy still has my natural texture and feels very soft. Should use sulfate-free shampoo and should last 3-6months. read more

Judith recently styled my daughter's hair for a dance & did my color & a Straightening treatment (Keratin). She was exceptional in every-way. Her prices are extremely fair for the high quality service. My color was perfect & I love that my usually frizzy hair that I throw in a bun is now easy to wear down & looks like I had a professional blow out most days. I am thrilled to find Judith & Tru Salon. read more

I happen to find rukshana on Groupon for laser hair and I'm so happy I did! Granted I only have had 1 laser hair treatment on my under arms (next one is coming up in a couple weeks). I wanted to write a review from start to finish and let you know the process along the way. First off rukshana is the sweetest little lady. She is very knowledgeable and made me feel extremely comfortable! First session went great with very little pain (I don't know if I would even call it pain tho- more of an annoyance). I will keep you posted on my further sessions! I guess I should mention how hairy I am? I could shave at 9 am and would only last a couple hours - awful right?! Hopefully laser hair is the answer!! UPDATE: finished my 6 sessions and I would say I'm pleasantly surprised. Now, little did I know that most/majority of people need more than 6 sessions to successfully remove all the hair. So, I'm continuing my treatments to keep removing the hair. I can definitely tell a huge difference with the 6 sessions but I obviously had to purchase more sessions. I would say my hair is more than half gone. My only complaint would be that she tends to overbook people's sessions a lot. I find myself waiting past my scheduled appointment more often that not. read more

I was looking for a stylist I could stick with and understand my desire but having the guts to say it would be more flattering if you also did this, or I should say help tweak my vision so my style comes out great every time. Judith listens to what you want and transforms you so you walk out feeling renewed. I get both my cut and color at True. Erin read more

I got a great deal for True Salon on Groupon so I thought I would give it a shot... I called to make the appointment on the day I purchased the Groupon and spoke to Judy who was so sweet when taking the appointment-she even told me she looked forward to meeting me which I thought was a very nice touch. Arrived for my appointment today and Judy was running a little behind, but that was totally cool because I was still seeking out the perfect cut and color combo I wanted to try. While I waited, Nicole their receptionist and shampoo girl could not have been more welcoming and friendly! When it was my turn, Judy took the time to look at the pictures I had selected and we discussed color and style combos and began the process... Long story short, I love my highlights & I love the cut-it's sassy and fun and I feel ready for summer! I would 100% recommend True Salon and will definitely be back! read more

How has no one reviewed this place? My inner Yelper came out because I chose this place based on A- the $30 Shellac manicure coupon I got, and B- the opportunity for a FTR! They were friendly on the phone and right down the street from me, so while I was chatting with Amy, who did my nails, I asked how long they've been open. Over 2 years. Oops. I felt a little bad because I've never noticed them... they're even RIGHT next door to Wayne's Pizza, which I LOVE (shout out)! Anyhow, it's a cute yet smallish place, average prices, and friendly staff. They do hair and nails and in true manicure fashion were doling out doctor rec's to a lady who needed a knee replacement, shellac vs. gelish advice to my inexperienced self, and diet/tv/love advice to one another and anyone else who wanted it. I'd go back (sadly I've had like 4 manicures ever, so I'm not the best customer to recruit), but remember: CASH ONLY!! read more

Rukhsana did an amazing job with laser hair removal. I'm Italian, so I am pretty hairy by nature. I have don't laser hair removal multiple times in my life, all over my body, starting in middle school. It works well on darker coarser hairs. However, it doesn't last forever and you need to go back for maintenance. I would say it takes about 12 sessions then you are good for about 2 years. I started seeing Rukhsana when I noticed I had to start shaving my patchy armpits again. I have always don't laser hair removal at a doctor's office, so I was a bit apprehensive. Rukhsana used the same machine that the doctor's office did. She took the time to ice the area to make it less painful (I'm not gonna lie- armpits hurt to get lasered almost as much as the bikini!). I already have an appointment to go back and see Rukhsana and hope to get some other areas done now that i know she rocks! read more

One word for this place .......fabulous! Judith is the owner of True Salon and is by far my favorite hair stylist ever. She listens to what you want, but is incredibly talented at applying her creative skill-set to your style and hair type. Judith does an amazing job with highlights and colors. read more

I have finally found a stylist that truly cares about what I want! First appointment was purchased on Groupon for the haircut and highlights. Judy, the owner of the salon, dis a fantastic job! She is a perfect stylist, very friendly and welcoming. Her job is precise, detailed and absolutely perfect. Later she did a keratin treatment for my wavy and frizzy hair and it turned out wonderfully. I have been going to her for about a year. She also styled my daughter's hair for a prom. A teenager was very happy!!! I would recommend Judy and True Salon for anyone looking to try a new place - you won't be disapointed! read more

Mandy is fantastic! She does miracles with my hair. Would definitely recommend for any type of service!!

I got hooked 2014 via a Groupon deal and can't let go since then! Judith is the best Hairstylist I ever had. I never left the salon unhappy. Highly recommended!! And about my previous review, not sure what was the issue that day with the cleanliness. Maybe they were just super busy, I don't remember anymore. The salon looks just fine and clean. :) read more

Mandy is so knowledgeable about hair and how to cut to compliment your face. I was so satisfied with my cut and color. She gave me great advice when I wasn't 100% sure. I would definitely recommend going to see her! 5/5 read more

I just went to this salon yesterday with a Groupon Deal and like many reviewers, I had a great experience. I got a haircut and color +highlights. Judith did a great job! You can tell she's really experienced and I felt like she didn't want to let me leave until she thought my hair was perfect. I got waaay more than my moneys worth! read more

I found True Salon on Groupon and decided to give them a shot. I'm SO glad I did because this is definitely going to be my go-to place! Judith worked with me and her expertise captured exactly how I wanted my highlights and cut. This is hands down the best experience I have had a in long, long time. Looking forward to going back! read more

I've experienced better. I found this place through Groupon. It was a really good deal, haircut and highlights for $65.00. However, I was not very impressed with my highlights and I felt like my haircut was truly not a haircut. Is trimming my ends considered a haircut? Perhaps.....I guess. Many of you are probably thinking, you get what you pay for.....Its true in this case. Judith was very nice. I felt like she needed an extra hand. I had to wait about 40-45 mins. Location is hard to find. Too far for someone who lives in Wheeling. read more

I chose to go to this salon after reading the reviews and gave it a shot. I made an appointment with Mandy. AWESOME!!!! Two beauticians before her at two different salons screwed up my hair and I was an ugly blonde. It was super brassy and my hair was just not cut right and damaged. Mandy asked me what I wanted and I simply told her and we looked at pictures. I'm naturally a medium brown but she made me look like a natural blonde!! She fixed the brass, my roots, and gave me an amazing cut. My hair needed a total renovation and it got it! Super happy!!! She knows what she's doing and is very knowledgable about hair and techniques. Just impressive!!! read more

Mandy is by far the BEST!!!! I have been going to her for all my hair care needs for the last 4 years. I have had her do literally everything to my hair including corrective color, haircuts, highlights, and regular color. I've been blonde, brunette, and had black hair. I've had her put pink, and purple in my hair as well. Not to mention she did my hair and all of the hair of my bridesmaids on the day of my wedding. There is NOTHING this stylist cant do when it comes to hair!!! read more

I wish I had found this gem years ago! Thanks, Judith! Best haircut and color...ever. It was a relaxed environment too. I highly recommend this "hidden" gem! read more

LOVE The salon and the stylists. My favorite is Mandy !!! She is a certified colorist and REALLY knows what she is doing. I had black hair and wanted a change and go a little lighter. Mandy explained the process and made me feel comfortable. I will always go back to her. I get bored easy with my hair color and style. Mandy can adapt to any kind of style and color. Will always come back!! I should mention I have been going to her for about 4 years. read more

I hate getting my hair done because I have a hard time finding a stylist who understands what I want and does a good job. I bought a groupon and tried True Salon. I love Judith! As soon as I walked in she made me feel comfortable and at home. I had a deep conditioning, cut, highlights, lowlights and style. She listened to everything I wanted and did awesome. I walked in with damaged frizzy dull hair and left with shiny bouncy beautiful hair. I will go back and will recommend her to all of my friends! read more

Got a cut and color from Judith at True Salon. I'm one of those people that come with ideas that might not always work for my hair. Judith took the time to see what I wanted (with pictures) and then discussed some options or other ways of making my hair work for me. I will be coming back! read more

This salon is a hidden gem! Judith just did a blowout for me (I found a Groupon) and I really love it. I will be returning for more!

Judy was truly phenomenal! I went to her more a keratin treatment about over a month ago, and my hair turned out wonderfully. I've gotten keratin before where it fades after a few weeks, but my hair is holding up really well. Not inly was Judy skilled, but she was very professional too. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better service! read more

I had my hair highlighted by Judith at True Salon for a second time and had such a disappointing (and slightly painful) experience. Judith was handling 2 clients at a time so she had her assistant put some "extra dye" on my roots. Side note: they ran out of chairs during this too. The assistant got the dye ALL over my face, including in my ears and on my eyebrows. I had to get up, find a tissue, and wipe the dye off my face. Then, after waiting in a rickety metal chair in the corner, the assistant shampooed the dye out. She flipped a piece of hair over my face and the dye splashed in my eye!! Ouch!!! No apology or sense of concern as I ran to the bathroom to get the stinging dye out of my eye. Long story short, my eye tears out the dye in about 15 minutes by keeping it closed. Finally, Judith is done with her other client and is ready for me. I walk to her booth, look in the mirror, and see bright orange-ish roots!! That is NOT how she did it last time. Near tears, she tells me it will look better dried and that she'll write down the colors and go a shade darker next time... As I "check out," she tells me it will be an additional $40 for the extra dye and product. She never mentioned an additional cost during the service. In more polite words, I tell her I will not pay extra for an extra service that I did not want, that resulted in orange roots, that was done by a sloppy assistant. I went home feeling disappointed that this visit was nothing like my first one, smelling of bleach that was still on my face, and dye stained my on favorite jeans. read more

I visited this place for the first time and the service was amazing!! . Judith is exceptionally best hair stylist i have met so far. She gave me a wonderful look with good highlights. The satff is very hostile and welcoming. Overall i loved the place and thier service. Thank you soooo much Judith!!! read more

Judith is GREAT! She is sweet and easy to work with. Just got a cute summer cut! Relaxed setting and personable.

I love this salon. Jamese is my stylist, and regardless of what I get she delivers excellent service. Specializing in hair color.

Judy is the BEST stylist I have ever seen. I used to frequent all the top salons in Beverly Hills/LA/Chicago and nothing comes close to the individualized cuts she gives. She studies your face shape, hair type, and any photos you bring, she'll adapt to your hair/face. Her calm demeanor is also a refreshing break from some of the ditzy, chatty stylists I've encountered in the past. The salon doesn't have a ritzy ambience, and there's no receptionist. But wouldn't you rather save money and pay for a fabulous cut by not footing the bill for exotic murals and a snotty receptionist? I've also witnessed Judy bring back clients hair to life from a ravaged mess to flowing tresses. I even cheated on her and went elsewhere to save money. She graciously took me back. This is a hidden gem. Go see Judy! your friends will want your new look, too! read more
