Hot honey pizza
Brandon M.

Small place, but good vibes, trendy decore, creative menu, and stellar service . They only had 4 beers on the menu which was the main drawback, but plenty of creative cocktail options. Prices were reasonable in the $12-14 range. Pizza was thin, cheesy, and hit the spot.

Loaded Baked Potato Pizza
Carolina R.

My friend and I went to grab a bite on Sunday evening as she has been and mentioned the pizza was good. I was intrigued by the Loaded Baked Potato Pizza and ordered that with the sour cream on the side. I was impressed by how fast the pizza came out, probably within 15 minutes of ordering. I loved the pizza - it really was a loaded baked potato in pizza form. I liked how light it felt. The ingredients were fresh as well. I would so come back when I'm in town!

Came here on a week night with some friends to celebrate a birthday. It was not super crowded in the front so we could spread out and have that area to ourselves. Had kids with us and heaven forbid they have to sit with their parents! Many pizzas were ordered but I did not have any of them. Ordered a beer and socialized. I decided to order a pizza but waited until everyone else was leaving (that part was not intentional) and the pizza took longer to make than I had anticipated so I was stuck with my 9 year old who was bored. Employees were cleaning up the area we had been sitting in and my 9 year old wanted to help and the employee was nice enough to spray down the tables and give them the towel to wipe tables. After cleaning tables and putting the chairs back where they went, said kid ventured to the kitchen to watch pizza making. The person making the pizzas was super kind, patient and understanding of questions, wanting to watch the process etc. After that an employee was folding pizza boxes and kidlet wanted to help. Staff was kind enough to let them help with the boxes. After what felt like 5 hours, but was probably 20 minutes I got my pizza and took it home to eat it since my child had been bothering the staff. Cannot stress how amazing each person we interacted with was. My kid wanted black olives (they aren't listed as an ingredient or on any of the pizzas) but they asked and the bartender came up with some. Between this and letting a kid shadow you, ask questions etc while you are working, every one here was so patient and kind. The pizza I ordered was the loaded baked potato. It had mozzarella, potato slices, bacon, chives and crema on it. It was super delicious and I was super hungry and wanted to eat the whole thing but managed not to. It was $19 and the pizzas are on the small side but are wood fired and better ingredients. This was my first time here and I will be back! There were many more pizzas (and cocktails) I wanted to try but was unable to. Note: this is on a street near a fire house and parking is limited. There are some diagonal spots on the street in front of the business but we had to park in the residential area and walk a bit They also have a larger selection of board games that are for all ages (definitely ones that are for kids too) to help pass the time while waiting.

Espresso Strawberry Martini

Had to venture out to this area because it had a little brewery scene nearby mission bay. I would have to say it's very hospitable and it's a good place to chill and watch games. All I got here was the espresso strawberry martini and spicy Paloma. I should've got the pizza it seemed like everybody was ordering it. The service was great I saw the pizzas and drinks coming out pretty quick. The espresso strawberry martini tasted more so like chocolate which isn't bad but surprising. I really enjoyed how it was filled to the top. The spicy Paloma was no joke. It was absolutely spicy but nonetheless enjoyable. I will probably be coming back to try out the pizza everybody was ordering.

We came here after a bike ride at the beach. They have beer on tap, some cocktail choices and pizza, salad and wings. We ordered three meat ballet pizza aaa ricotta on pizza is a fav for me. The pizza here is very tasty. The atmosphere is kind of relaxed and quiet. We were here on a Sunday afternoon.

Came here for my first time and I already want to go back. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza for $18 to share with my friend and tried their Ocean Water which is a blue margarita served in a Jarritos Mineragua bottle. The presentation of the drink threw me off at first but it was good and refreshing. I would order it again. The bbq chicken pizza was delicious; perfect amount of bbq sauce, cheese and chicken and I liked the texture of the pizza and the crust and everything all together yummmm. Service was friendly no complaints Take me back

Caprese salad...great!

I've been to a great brewpub next door but never noticed this joint until searching Yelp for pizza options in my hood. Self seating and ordering at the counter is the norm at this no frills place. Started out with a local draft, and was disappointed how few options there were considering it's location. Caprese salad was wonderful, but the sausage and peppers pizza was quite a bit spicier than expected. We picked half the peppers off to manage the heat. Ambiance is rustic beach industrial, service was at the counter, and price was slightly above expectation. We might pop back in from time to time due to proximity, but at first visit this joint does not make the list...

Sausage and peppers pizza. Tasty with a kick!

The only food complaint was the wings appetizer was a bit boring. Porkchop and cauliflower were cooked perfectly. Margaritas were good. Creme brulee dessert was perfect size for 2. I got their Patient Pisco Sour while my partner got the Pomegranate Mojito. The Pisco Sour definitely packed a punch! Quite strong, yet rich and palatable. The real star, however, was surprisingly the Pomegranate Mojito. Pomegranate happens to be one of my favorite fruits, and it's quite rare to find anything pomegranate flavored, let alone a drink! Tart and refreshing, this might just be my new go-to drinky drink.

Bartenders were cool. Nick was our fave though for sure. He made some mean cocktails. Solid liquor selection plus a list of cocktails to choose from. I initially ordered the something and picante (can't remember the full name) and found it to be way too sweet. Then switched to a basic Lalo with soda and lime to cleanse my palette. After tried their version of an espresso martini which was quite good but made with nitro brew and kahlua so a bit on the sweeter side. I ended the night with my fave drink though which was a Hugo spritz and it was perfectly balanced. Definitely will be going back, especially for the love band Sundays. Parking is all street parking.

There were a number of new recipes on the cocktail menu this trip. They had me at "Party With Elvis." She's from NorCal and…read morewhile she's been attending college, we've invited her out for fellowship and she's been to many of our family functions. My son has visited her family and have gotten to know his girlfriend's family. Last night was the very first time we got to meet my son's girlfriend's family and I'm thankful to her for setting up this dinner at La Doña for us to finally meet and get to know each other. I really liked the lively vibe of the restaurant, the tortilla chips and salsa were yummy, and my entree was delish and memorable, but there definitely were opportunity areas with our service. La Doña is located in laid-back, bohemian Ocean Beach just a short jaunt to the Ocean Beach pier. It's directly across the street from Raglan Public House restaurant, An's Electronics gelato, and Indie Yoga. We parked in a public parking lot that's next to the restaurant, which was convenient, but know you'll be paying almost $26 for parking. Highway robbery if you ask me. We visited on a Friday and our reservation was at 6pm. As soon as we entered La Doña, you immediately could tell it was a popular eatery. It's a large space with indoor seating that has beautiful wooden engraved chairs and wooden tables, bartop seating with leather stools, and plenty of covered outdoor seating with picnic tables and mosaic, concrete round tables. Our waitress was friendly and patient, but there were definitely opportunity areas with the service. We had a party of 11 and when the food came out, our party's orders were mixed up and given to the wrong people, so this snafu created a lot of confusion. Despite the confusion from the wait staff, my family is so thankful to my son's girlfriend for setting this dinner up, so we can finally meet her lovely family. We've had the pleasure of her being a part of many of our family get togethers and outings, so it was a blessing to see and talk to the people who helped mold her into the wonderful person we've gotten to know. At La Doña, Mexican food is their specialty and on their menu, they serve antojitos aka appetizers, tacos, combo plates, salads and soups, plates, sides, and desserts. For appetizers, they ordered bottomless chips and salsa and crispy brussels sprouts, which my son's girlfriend highly recommended and she was spot on. Please know the chips and salsa are not complimentary, so take advantage of them being bottomless and keep them coming. The tortilla chips were fresh and tasty and the salsa wasn't too spicy. The brussel sprouts came with bacon, cotija cheese, pumpkin seeds, jalapeño vinaigrette, and pomegranate seeds. She was so right about the brussel sprouts, but I had to share with the group and I had to save room for my entree. For my dinner, I selected the steak and shrimp fajitas, which come with 7oz arrachera steak, jumbo shrimp, sautéed peppers, onions, jalapeños, rice, beans, guacamole, and tortillas. They only give you three corn tortillas, but you can ask for more corn or flour tortillas. The shrimp come with the tails, which I wish were taken off before this dish was served to me. For the price, the Mexican rice was a tease and wished there was more of that. Despite these opportunities, the steak and shrimp fajitas are Must Order. People in our party ooh'd and aww'd when my hot skillet came out. It was delicious, the vegetables were tasty, and each taco I made with all of the components satisfied my belly. I would order that again in a heartbeat. We loved meeting our son's girlfriend's family and are thankful to her for making reservations at La Doña for all of us to finally meet. Although there were some opportunities, it truly was a blessing to break bread or in this case break steak and shrimp fajitas, with many of her family. Thank you to my son's girlfriend's family for generously paying for dinner, which we hope to reciprocate whenever we meet again.

The band was great, the sound system was on point and the bar was very busy without feeling overly packed. We went upstairs to use the bathroom and get our drinks before the show started which was definitely the right choice. Not nearly as busy up there and only one person ahead of us to use the bathroom. I saw some folks eating the infamous OB Noodle House wings and taking peanut butter shots, I had half a mind to stay up there for a while but we didn't want to miss the band! There's also an awesome rooftop patio with a view of the ocean that we didn't go to that night. Highly recommend checking it out for their happy hour. Back downstairs for the show and I've gotta give their staff props, they did a great job sweeping through the crowd and picking up empty drinks throughout the night. My only beef with this bar is, there were so many people smoking on the patios that you couldn't get away from the smell pretty much anywhere inside. I don't remember that being an issue on previous visits but it was horrible that night.
