To finally resolve the sprinkler issue, I hired a more reliable company, which completed the job in a single visit, unlike Vien's drawn-out process that required five visits with no clear resolution. As a customer, I understand delays if expectations are set correctly, but Vien never provided a clear timeline, nor did he indicate how much time was allocated for each visit. His refusal to give a firm follow-up date was frustrating. The new company completed the work next day and within a few hours, allowing for a proper walk-through with the homeowner--something Vien seemed reluctant to do. While I came to appreciate the mowing crew for their professionalism and responsiveness, it's disappointing that, despite initial assurances that mowing and sprinkler services were separate, they retaliated by canceling my service. This confirms my advice to customers: do not rely on one company for multiple services. If one service fails, they may retaliate by dropping everything, which is exactly what happened today--even after I informed them I would still pay Vien, despite what seemed like an overpriced and unquoted amount at the outset. Avoid putting yourself in a position where your service can be canceled because one "arm" of the business under-delivered. I expected this behavior, and while I find it petty, perhaps it is for the best. I do not want Vien back on my property, and having his relatives provide service would be awkward. In the end, Vien is getting paid despite walking off mid-job and failing to update the client--$200 seems excessive for incomplete work, but I am moving on. Do your due diligence. DO NOT PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET, COZ THIS COMPANY WILL RETALIATE WHEN ONE ARM OF THEIR BUSINESS DOES NOT WORK.

I was referred to Daysi, of Leaves, and contacted her by phone call, initially on Saturday 4/12. She texted me that she'd call me back, I waited, then she never did. Then she asked for my address, via text, without any phone call, consult, or explanation, such that I had no idea what she was going to do with my address. Was she scheduling an in-person walk-through? Was she looking up the size of my backyard, using publicly available information, to approximate the size of my backyard lawn to mow? I truly had no idea, given her poor communication. She also never told me her name, initially, forcing me to do all the work in our communication / endless text chat, which I found unbelievably exhausting. The only reason I stayed the course with her, was because she was recommended by a contractor who I highly trust. I continued waiting, patiently, for her to get her act together, then followed up with her, again, on Friday 5/2, given she'd read my texts, then fail to reply, so - yet again - I did her job for her, and asked her her working days/hours, to facilitate a better response from her. She never replied, or answered this question - directly. It started to become abundantly clear she was never going to call me. I returned back to the contractor who I highly trust, and asked him if he could move things forward with her. He did. 3.5-weeks later, we finally scheduled an in-person walk-through for my grass/lawn mowing, and side yard estimate, for Tue 5/6 at noon. Then it rained that day, and she asked about canceling. I have multiple medical issues, so I didn't want to delay any further. I said, I was still up to meet in the rain, if she was, and I politely offered her an umbrella. We discussed my grass mowing, she told me to name the price - which was also surprising & strange, so I asked my boss for his business case / pricing - then shared it with her, to modify for the size of my yard, which she did, and it was a fair price. She told me she'd send me an estimate, with options, for the side yard. I was expecting a normal estimate, I receive, from my normal contractors. An emailed PDF, with options, like I receive from my HVAC, electrician, plumber, for me to consider, then select, then sign, then schedule, then move forward. What I got instead was an incessant, inefficient, random, inconsistent, stream of texts, in a totally disorganized manner, with multiple photos of unlabeled plants, so of which were not according to my request, or even right for the side yard, per our discussion, and my requirements. Worse? We finally scheduled the lawn aeration, fertilizing, re-seeding, and grass mowing for tomorrow, Fri 5/16, from 8-10am, such that I take off work this entire week, to get a ton of home infrastructure projects completed, including this initial lawn mowing, given I don't trust her, so I want to be focused for the first time. I text her to confirm on Monday 5/12, she reads my texts all week - never responding, then less than 12-hours before our scheduled appointment, she comes up with a lie, that allegedly her equipment won't fit through my gate, when she saw both the gate and knows her equipment during our in-person walk-through over 1-week ago. Something is suspicious, and not adding up. If you want to waste 1-month & 3-days, being disrespected - to your face, and having all your free time wasted, contact this "business". She also never listened to me about requesting rock for the side yard, instead of mulch, or answered my questions about pruning the bushes she recommended, and she only gave me two options, none of which were what we discussed in-person, or what I wanted. This was a truly terrible experience, and one of the most unprofessional experiences with someone alleging to be a business, in my entire life, with time I don't have.

What this means is they use only Spanish-speaking crews who they can't communicate clearly with, and they're basically on auto-pilot once they start mowing. They then blame the customer for getting upset when the crews keep showing up and mowing your yard! That's right- it's your fault. How dare you expect them to be able to communicate a simple request like "Don't mow after two times!!!" After they came the third week, I called Stacia and asked her to make sure they got the message to stop mowing. I have my lawnmower, I told her, and I don't need the mowing. She assured me they wouldn't come by anymore. Of course, they came by again today. Four times in a row. Again, they cut the grass too short for fescue which browns it out, but more importantly, THIS BUSINESS CAN'T COMMUNICATE CLEARLY WITH ITS CREWS, THEN BLAMES THE CUSTOMER FOR GETTING UPSET FOR DOING YOU A "FAVOR" FOR YOUR "ONE-OFF REQUEST!"
