Nathan started and completed the leaf and stick cleanup that I ordered. Actually, if the truth be known he did a much better job than I have done in past years. My flowerbeds are ready for spring planting. Nathan went the extra mile as some of the leaves ended up in the street gutter and he made sure he cleaned up that area. Ok, I tried to cut them some slack since circumstances are difficult right now, and they are very good and candid with their communication. But this last mowing, they said they could only mow half my back lawn and didn't do any trimming because they had to stop to get to other customers. I said okay thinking it was an inconspicuous spot that was left. But after looking in the back yard, he only mowed about 1/4 of it. Now I have to go do it myself. I'd much rather pay a little more for a consistent service, especially if that means large chunks of my lawn aren't going to be mowed. I unfortunately can't recommend these guys anymore. I have been using these guys for a couple years now, and they have been nothing but reliable and prompt with all of their services. The Price is Right and the process to get them out service your lawn is very simple and straightforward. Simply go on to their site, request service, and it's done. The only issue that some people have is that you don't receive a specific time that they will show up, but to me that doesn't particularly matter, you do know what day it will be just not a specific time of that day This year I signed up for their monthly mowing service and I am excited to have them start in april, they did it for me a couple times last year and did a phenomenal job every time! read more

Oh my.... Where to begin... I was mowing the other day when I came across three snakes and panicked. Mr lawn was totally out of control. I called this place on a referral from a friend.. And they exceeded my expectations beyond my wildest dreams. My backyard was a total nightmare/mess and I came home to a dreamy, clean, tidy space. My front yard looked OK, but I never edge or trim so if always looked a little rough around the edges. They fixed all that. They were prompt, well priced, and our was all contactless and my millennial, never like to talk on the phone sells just loved. I paid, they came three days later around 4 pm... They did great work. Over all: quick, easy, quiet and properly done! And most of all, was so good for me to feel wildly compelled to write a review. Today was our first day of service with Grassbusters and at first we were a little confused because we tried to call and there was no one to get through to. We ended up setting up service online last week and hoping for the best. This morning was their first day mowing and the gentleman doing the work was so quick and quiet we didn't even notice at first! I was concerned because after we turned our sprinklers on the grass was embarrassingly long. Without us needing to ask, he mowed everything down to one of the longest settings for grass height so it wouldn't go into shock and die. Even with being longer, he got it very neat and clean. So far, we are quite pleased! We will see how the rest of the summer goes. We have a 11,000 lot(even though it's not all grass) so it can be a handful for a first time of the year mow, especially at a foot tall in a lot of places.. -H&M read more

This is a very generous but low three star rating. I'd rate the actual folks who do the work & the work itself four or five stars but the concept of the business & administrative side get a one or two star rating. I'd ordered the following services with the request to be performed as soon as the company was able: Regeneration package, Leaf/Stick cleanup, Bush Trimming, Hand pulling of weeds, & On Demand Lawn Service. As a massively introverted millenial, the concept of just going on a website, speaking to no one, ordering what you need, & it just getting taken care of was alluring. As enticing a concept as this is, it doesn't work. You can't have total (or maybe 90% lack of communciation with your customers). My issue was I didn't know how much of each service to purchase for my home. Not only did I email through the company website to make sure I was ordering the right amount for my lot size but I also put in a message through Yelp. With zero guidence, I was left to guess whether I ordered a long enough time or whether my notes were adequent to describe what I needed done. The next area where communication failed was scheduling. Since I'm in Parker, their map says they show up Mondays. Since they didn't show up the 1st Monday after I ordered, & it was nearly dinner time on Memorial Day Monday, my husband & I figured they weren't coming until the Monday after Memorial day at least. With the lawn getting out of control we mowed it ourselves on Memorial day just to make it somewhat presentable. Of course, Grassbusters shows up as we are putting the mower away. The worker himself was a great guy & understood our assumption, however the admin was curt when I pointed out only the mower showed up late Memorial Day so why would I be under the impression Grassbusters was coming that day & not next week? The rest of our services ended up coming not on days that correspond with their website's map so their scheduling feels completely random. The lack of communication about scheduling & services is an inexcusably confusing piece of the business that could be easily fixed. Long story short, I spent an hour & a half of my Saturday cleaning up Grassbusters spring clean up because, shocker, the time I'd ordered for my services had no been adequet. This was in no way the fault of the employee as she worked her behind off everyday she was here to get as much done within that time span as possible & it's 100% on the vague booking system. Instead of getting more of my business with a weekly lawn service or me reordering the same services so that the work could get 100% done for the size of my yard since I didn't order the correct quantity the 1st time, I'll be giving my cash to another company to get our yard completely in shape. read more

I have a rental property who Grassbusters took care of via the tenants. We told them to be careful of the corner area, because the head sometimes wouldn't depress back into the ground. Multiple sprinkler heads damaged and they wouldn't own up to it? It was obvious that the blade chewed them up. I reached out to them and they were extremely rude. I was hesitant to use this company given that they charge for services upfront, but I gave it a shot. I regret that decision and have had a less than ideal experience with them in the following ways: - As others have noted, there is no schedule. You are left to guess when folks will show up. It was my takeaway that there's nothing to alert you to this approach until after you have already paid. - They have partially delivered the services, but I am a month out from my payment on the sprinkler system turn on and it has not been completed. They aerated and fertilized weeks ago, but with no water what good is that? Grass is dead. - I've tried following up with them to coordinate a date to turn on the sprinkler so that I can plan accordingly as my job does not allow for remote work. On multiple occasions, they have promised Thursday, then a Friday, then a next week, and I have no stayed home 4 days across multiple weeks waiting for someone to show up. I have no issue with a reschedule and recognize its a busy season, but a complete no show repeatedly with no communication? And why am I, the customer, reaching out to you to ask what happened and when you'll be there? To further add to the frustration...voicemail is full, emails go unanswered. - Grassbusters contends that they showed up weeks ago to complete to sprinkler turn on and no one was home and they "couldn't find the boxes", so they just turned on an exterior faucet and called it a day. Any professional knows that there is more to turning on an in-ground sprinkler system than that. I was home that day...a simple knock on the door or phone call would've revealed that. This is just unprofessional on many different levels. I'd like to think I am a pretty reasonable guy and I've tried every other avenue but this to get someone's attention. If I could even get someone to respond to me and honor a commitment on as little as a date (I don't even care about the time at this point) I would've foregone this review entirely. read more

My mom hired this company to mow her front and back lawn and to pick up the dog poop in the back. They came and mowed the front so short that it's starting to die. Then they didn't even touch the backyard. I went and mowed her backyard yesterday and the grass was up to my ankles. I had to dump the mower 4 times and the yard is not big. They bait and switched me into using the Yelp offer for 1 free lawn service, then they required me to make a payment just to book the appointment. I was told I would get this rebated back, and then the owner played dumb and acted like he wasn't aware of any offer on Yelp. As a business owner- that's your primary role and responsibility. They couldn't even give me a firm date on when they would show up- saying it could be a range of multiple days, which doesn't work for me as I'd prefer to be there. They came 3 days early and my lawn was at full length, basically defeating the purpose of the service. Second time we got an email from them that they never showed up the day our service was due because of short staff and snow which mind you did not started till late evening Monday. On 10/16, I received an email indicating that they forgot to take me off the schedule and their employee still came out to do the blowout. They were apologizing for the mistake and asking if I would be willing to pay, since the service was completed (by mistake, even though I cancelled the service). They also said they'd understand if I won't be paying. I responded and told them that all the hassle and frustration I'd been through, plus the trip to home depot and the expenses therein due to lack of communication for over 3 days actually cost me more than their price, so I thought I didn't owe them anything. However, I said I was willing to pay 50% of their original cost, and asked them to send me a paypal email address or phone number so I could transfer the money. They responded by saying that they agree with me that they didn't communicate well that week and appreciated my offer, and said that no payment was necessary. I replied by saying that the offer was appreciated. On 11/30, I received another email saying that they just became aware of this yelp review, and asked me to remove the bad review. The email contained a record of our email conversations to be served as a proof that basically what I did was not completely fair. Apparently I had signed up for a service during the week of, and didn't give them ample time to finish the work. First of all, as a business, if you think a sprinkler blow-out service request for the week of is a short-notice, you should not have that week as an option for the customers to pick on your website. Secondly, once you notice that a customer is requesting a service and you as the service provider assume that it is a short notice, you must reach out the customer as soon as possible to let them know. It should not be in a fashion where the customer tries to get a hold of you for 3 days straight to inquire about the job when it's 3 days until the deadline and you choose to get back to the customer upon realizing that they've had enough and cancelled the service. These are good and kind guys, trying to do their best, but like I said; they have a lot more to learn about best business practices. read more

The service was fine, not great. I used the service on/off throughout the summer. Then I scheduled a leaf/stick cleanup for my lawn. They didn't show up 2 weeks in a row and now won't respond to any of my emails asking for a refund. I think the convenience of booking services online and only communicating through email backfires when they can suddenly ghost on you when something goes wrong. I have used Grassbusters for two seasons now, and besides the first time they mowed my lawn, last year and last week, in which the latter was mowed by Chris and his brother, it has been more miss than hit. I do understand that it can be difficult at times to maintain a labor crew; however, it would seem their workers are more interested in getting the job done quickly, than correctly. After the first cut of the season, there is no excuse not to have an even cut, especially when mowing on high, which shows they are running through the job. Most of their workers do not blow and bag the clippings, and when they use the trimmer, they burn the edges of the lawn. The price they offer is fair, especially considering the workmanship, or in this case, lack thereof, but if you ever question that workmanship, they immediately get defensive and say you should have paid more. I have an idea guys, why not just set the price yourself, or by using an ancient Chinese method called a walk through, followed by a discussion with the owner, and then providing a quote. I have a major issue regarding the work being done a day late, or early for that matter. I personally pick up debris from my lawn prior to their arrival, because I know they won't. If they come late, I have to do this twice, and if early, which happens without a courtesy email, they just shred everything into bits and pieces. Finally, in the beginning communication was on point; however, it fell to the waist side once I signed up for the weekly service. Today's response from "Jane", when requesting the names of the operators that mowed my lawn last Friday was, "We don't single out our tech's for specific performance ratings, we think they all do a very good job." Well, to that I reply, you obviously don't check up on them enough, besides pictures, which don't exactly paint a picture, if you know what I mean. I mean some people think Picasso was an artist, but when I look at his paintings, they look like a 4 year old painted them. All I wanted was to finally give them a good review, but her response triggered this review. Anyway, Chris and his brother did a great job last week. My wife said they were new workers. Thank you gentlemen! As for the company, maybe a few changes are in order, or you could just keep getting mediocre reviews for mediocre service. UPDATE AS OF 8/8/18: Usually when a company gets a mediocre, or bad review (3 stars in this case), they try and make things right. Was this the case with Grassbusters, of course not! The day after my review was posted on YELP, the company suspended my automatic payments through PAYPAL, changed the weekly amount, without my knowledge or consent, which constitutes THEFT under C.R.S. 18-4-401, and reactivated the payments. For the readers and company's knowledge, the definition of theft is: "A person commits theft when he or she knowingly obtains, retains, or exercises control over anything of value of another without authorization or by threat or deception..." This just lends legitimacy to my review. They are unprofessional, unworthy of patronage, and now criminals. I am a Honorably Discharged Veteran of the U.S. Army (89-93), an 18 year Law Enforcement Professional, and have never witnessed such brazen disregard for customers and the law by a company in my lifetime. For those of you who are seeking lawn service, I urge you to read their reviews before making a decision, as I am not the first to complain about the company's responses to their customers and what may start out as a five start job will quickly turn the first time you mention you are having any issues. Well, so far so good. I signed up for service on Tuesday and the service day was supposed to be Wednesday.  They didn't show up so I messaged them and asked if we were on the schedule.  I was told that it usually took a few days for the route to be updated, which I was perfectly ok with. That made sense so I wasn't upset. Jerry also asked if the grass was in bad shape and needed to be taken care of urgently.  I sent him a message back explaining that it had been 3 wks since the last time my lawn had been mowed because the company I had before flaked on me. Got the job done quickly before the snowstorm today (and I had scheduled for next week and was open to the date as long as the job got done before their season ended). They contacted me to let me know they were coming today and if I had any pet concerns (if I had a dog door). Since I was at work they even emailed me pictures of the finished product. I was using Grassbusters for my rental property in Parker, CO. For 2020, they did a good job and we had no issues. Fast forward to May of 2021, our lawn was not mowed at all and we also requested some spring clean up services along with sprinkler turn on which was never completed. Tried reaching out to Jerry multiple times and it was not until I asked them to cancel my service and refund my money did I get a response saying it would be completed ASAP. At that point it was to late and I had already hired another company to provide service. We all can understand that things have been rough coming out of the pandemic, but some things are just not OK in any condition. If you get behind on emails, you work them in the order received until you get caught up. Sending an email to your customers asking them to send another email to push their concern to the top is not the correct answer and this is what Grassbusters (Jerry) was doing to address being behind. For me this still did not work as my concerns were never addressed. Below is a message from Grassbusters that went out today asking customers who have been satisfied with service to go online and leave positive reviews. If you were actually doing a good job for the majority of your customers, the reviews would not be negative and there would be no need to solicit positive reviews. "Due to the perfect storm of events with the heaviest rainfall during the spring ever recorded, snow and cold delays, worker shortages coming out of a pandemic along with letting ourselves get over booked due to lack of experience managing our new booming website. We did not deliver our spring services well this year and our reviews took a hit. While this seems justified, the things being said are just plain false. So I am reaching out to you customers that we have done a good job for to see if you would post a positive review on Google, Yelp or Facebook. They never showed up that week which I understood but when I called for a refund on that week was told they don't do refunds for snow.
