The first time I had this pizza, I said it was the best pizza I've ever had. And I'll admit, I had a few drinks beforehand, so I thought I imagined it. However, the next time I stopped in, it was even better. Now Portside is a boji must when we're in town. It just really is that good. Portside has multiple levels and a fun atmosphere as well. We stopped into Portside Pizza on our first trip up to Okoboji for the spring/summer season. First-timers, just the three of us. The drinks hit the spot, finding a seat was easy, and the break-away breadsticks were a flavorful way to kick things off. The pizza itself didn't quite land for our crew. We ordered the Butcher, and the sauce in particular wasn't our style. The prices ran a bit higher than we expected too. Nothing that dampened the outing, just not quite our thing. We're glad we gave it a shot, and if the drinks and appetizers are your scene, it's worth a stop. It may not make our regular rotation on future Okoboji trips, but every town deserves a first visit. read more

Busy, happening place on a Saturday night around 9pm. Nice location near the Central Emporium and Arnolds Park. Despite being busy, we found a decent seat that looked over the sidewalk and service was pretty good. We ordered the fried raviolis and a hamburger and cup & char pepperoni pizza. The fried raviolis were amazing. They were stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella, romano and asiago cheeses. The pizza was good as well. I was told my order would be ready in 25 minutes, it was. We ordered a 16" pepperoni and a Greek salad. Our bill was $40, out of our typical budget but you know, it's 'Okoboji'. The food was just 'good'. The pizza was pretty but quite greasy and the crust a bit soggy in the middle. The sauce was good. The salad dressing was good. I came on a Tuesday for $5 personal size pizza. The pizza was really good! All the ingredients seem to be really fresh including the basil. I have been here one time before late night after the bars and I believe they had a honey pizza, which was also very good. The staff was really friendly and service was quick. We really enjoyed this spot and will go back again! We got the margherita pizza and it was delicious! Don't ask your server what is on the beer menu because they don't know! Just go look at the taps, she recommended a raspberry beer that was terrible when I asked what would be similar to a summer shandy! Our server also never came back. I don't know if it was shift change or what, but we had to go to the bartender and tell him where we were sitting (we were one of two tables there) and then he got us our check? Very weird. Ordered takeout, called my order in very early for a specific time. Staff was very friendly over the phone and in person. Atmosphere seems very pleasant, again I did takeout. Ordered the Greek and Classico pizzas and side salads. I really wanted to say this pizza was good, but it was beyond bland. The cheese had a very strange flavor, the sauce was very bland and the crust was burned very bad. I'll give them a second chance because I want to support the local restaurants, but my first experience was less than mediocre. Also, did not enforce the mask mandate. read more

I'm going to start this off by saying you should go here. If I could, I'd rate it 4.5 stars; read on. The vibe is really cool, and the store front is opened up (at least during the summer), which is cool. The food is good, too--nice oil crust pizza. The only things are 1) the ground beef under the cheese was really processed and not like the best beef (but it was perfectly healthy) and 2) it was really starchy (but that's just personal preference). I'm giving this five stars because it definitely deserves an average of more than four. read more
