Some of the worst Mexican food I have ever had. We were excited to try this place and wished we had…read morenot. The food was mediocre at best and over priced. Taco John's is a better option for food than the Taco House. The service, there was none as you order, sit down and pick up your own food. The place was clean, that is about the only thing going for it.

Tex-Mex Nostalgia with a Loyal Following The Taco House in…read moreMilford is definitely not traditional Mexican cuisine, so if you're expecting authentic street tacos or fresh-made tortillas, you might be caught off guard. It leans more into that nostalgic Tex-Mex comfort food vibe -- and honestly, I think that's a big part of its charm and why it has such a loyal following. A lot of locals grew up with it, and I can see how those flavors bring back memories. I've been here a few times, and I do genuinely enjoy the nachos -- the cheese they use is fantastic, and their two homemade sauces (red and green) are both flavorful and addicting. Definitely recommend trying both! The all beef burrito seems to be a popular recommendation, but for me, it was just okay. Not bad by any means, but it didn't really stand out compared to other items on the menu. My personal favorite? The sampler. It's a great way to get a little bit of everything, and I especially love the cheese enchiladas -- super satisfying and cheesy in the best way. One small thing to note: tap water isn't free. They charge a few cents for the cup, which surprised me, so just a heads-up if you're dining in. The waitress at the counter was a polite no complaints about service.

Extremely disappointed that the experience here was soooo awful. We were here in the afternoon the…read more25th of May, after shopping at the Antique and Swap Meets at the Lakes. Onion rings were just meh, crispy, but had absolutely no taste of onions what so ever, too salty and really, really really greasy. Coney dogs were not good, the chili had a nasty consistency. We won't go back! Good service by the cashier that waited on us, but when asked questions about availability of sugar free Dilly Bars, the other employee that took over my question was extremely poor in communication skills and he was rude. His response was a vague mumble rather than a clear and concise answer. I didn't repeat my question as evidently he didn't care as his back was to me most of the time. Needless to say neither of us got ice cream, we just left... The price is too high for food that lacks any quality. I would suggest passing this place and go elsewhere, unless you just want/NEED ice cream.

This DQ had a little more local colour. We were served by "biker gal", who then handed us off as she transitioned to the drive through window. Gayle and my son had their usual (chocolate dipped cone and butterscotch sundae respectively), while I spread my wings with an Oreo and cookie dough blizzard. Once fueled and refreshed, we headed off to our next stop - clothes shopping at 3 Sons!

Spirit Lake, Iowa…read more The outside of this restaurant is adorable. Picnic tables, and a few four top tables sit randomly underneath a tree with outdoor lights. The inside is cold and modern. Plastic chairs, low back high top chairs and concrete floor. Photos line the wall, mostly of kids and scribble crayon on the back wall It is a walk up where you order your food and then they bring it to the table. The guy taking my order was curt. Asked him if they fry their items in beef tallow. He said no. Then I told him I had a question about the turkey burger. He was gruff and said what do you wanna know. Then I asked him if he had to pick between two sandwiches, which would he pick? He shrugged his shoulders. Perhaps he should not be working the front of the house with his lack of personality. My husband's burger was plain but good. My turkey burger was very dry. The onion jam was absolutely delicious and so was the bun that it was served on. We ordered a side of tater tots. They have a bit of kick and spice to them. However, they were soft. I prefer my tater tots to be cooked to a crunch. Not wet and limp. You can order soda, but it is sold by the can. There are no fountain drinks. There is no table service. In fact, I have not seen one employee walk since we have been here. I would give thus place a 3.8 for food. I would give them one star for service. No, I would never come back

My burger was just barely warm & came out within 5 minutes of us ordering. It seems like they are pre-cooked & then warmed up. The bun didn't seem fresh & my fries were hard. My other 2 friends had specialty burgers & fries. There fries were hot, fresh & delicious. I am very disappointed.
