Delicious and fresh food! Stumbled upon this place and it did not disappoint! Friendly staff.

Food was ok. Fairly good but nothing special. Service here was pretty bad. Although the waitress was nice enough, she took her time taking our drink order, then our food order. Then she brought out our food piece by piece. It's a bummer when you get your hot fajita platter, but no sides. The. You get your sides, but still no tortillas. Then you're halfway done with your meal and the tortillas finally come out. One of us still had no meal when most of us were done. Empty drinks everywhere. The grand finale was chasing down the waitress twice to beg for our check. I won't be back. read more

Couldn't wait to try the all you can eat buffet when we stopped in for lunch, and it was great. All my favorites- rice, beans, taquitos, chicken, mixed fajita, even cake at the salsa bar. Someone told me you know it's a good Mexican restaurant by their rice and their Spanish rice was like my mom's and both grandmas. So good. The shredded chicken had a wonderful seasoning to it too. Next time I'll try something off the menu. Loved the cake. read more

I didn't know that there was such a thing as a Mexican food buffet, but we saw the Yelp reviews and were in need of a quick and filling meal while on our way to a hockey tournament, so we tried La Barca. After eating here, I am not really sure why there aren't more buffets like this one. There was a really nice selection of beef and chicken dishes. All of the ingredients seemed fresh, and they have both corn and flour tortillas. If you are gluten free, just ask and they will get you some corn tortillas if you want. The seating area was a little run down, but things seemed clean enough and they have good wait staff. I enjoyed that they had a full bar and the strawberry margarita was really tasty for a reasonable price. The only complaint I would have is that the bathroom was out of soap and paper towel - it was clean, but that made me a little nervous. I would eat here again, especially during lunch hours. read more

Food is Mexican, not Tex-Mex so be aware. Does not have the spice and heat we Texans are hooked on but the food is decent and fresh. Margaritas are huge and inexpensive. read more

Authentic Mexican menu; lunch buffet that offers a lot of variety. Food is delicious and fresh! Prices are very fair. Staff is super friendly. Parking is easy. Able to walk to from a lot of popular locations. You can't go wrong here! We like the mixed fajitas, chicken quesadilla, and queso dip. We've taken friends here several times and all were impressed. This place is simple. The seating/tables are simple. The food is simple, like Mexican food should be. Nothing fancy , which is why this place is 4 stars. This place has went down a bit since opened!! The chips were stale!! The buffet was up but food nonexistent!! They are not prepared for groups or crowds!! It's better eating there during the winter when their slow!! Today the server not only lied to my face when I asked to speak with management, but the owner son was like just let her leave!! Tacos were good and I do like that I can build them myself. Some of the side items like rice or beans were average. They keep the buffet fresh by keeping the amount on it small. Affordable and was great the day after a hard night at the bars. read more

Unbelievable, I lived in Texas for two years, yet Iowa of all places has the authentic Mexican food I crave. Me and the amigos were up in Spirit Lake, building windmills. They said this restaurant was like being home. We ordered all sorts of stuff, some of it wasn't even on the menu, but they made it all and every last bit of it was delicious. read more

This is not the Mexican restaurant you are used to. 1. we seated ourselves and after about 5 minutes the waitress comes over and did not offer a high chair for the baby. 2 the drinks we wanted were not available. 3 they messed up 2 out of 6 orders and it was not even busy at all. 4. My first EVER Mexican food buffet. Didn't know what I was getting myself into, but was soon digging in. The Chicken Quesadilla was very good. Their queso cheese sauce was thin, but as it cooled it thickened to a nice texture. I had three plates sampling a variety of ground beef burros, cheesy chicken with spinach concoction, fajitas, chimichangas, beans, rice, flour tortillas, chips & salsas. I didn't try the deserts, but what they had displayed looked appealing. Very efficient and friendly wait staff. The surprise for me was how affordable it was. It is not the best Mexican food I ever had, but I found what I sampled was tasty for the money. With drink and tax the dinner buffet was under $15.00 Wish they had enchiladas, but I look forward to trying those on my next trip. I will be back. read more

I don't leave negative reviews ever, but since this place had 4.5 stars I felt I should. First we waited 10 minutes for anyone to even aknowledge us after we were seated, and service somehow got worse after that. Out of six orders, they got 2 of them right. Like I ordered a beef chimichanga and got a shrimp enchilada kind of wrong... we had approximately 3 different servers at random times that had no idea what was going on and the place wasn't even busy. Hard to mess up a Mexican restaurant experience but they did it. Food was your average American Mexican food you get everywhere, but the experience killed it for me. read more

Everything was fine until I went to pay my bill. I had a small margarita and a chicken meal. They charged me $24.75. I won't be back.

Good Mexican in the okoboji area. Their cheese dip is so good. My husband's trio meats fajita was excellent. Lots of seating too.

I took a Mexican and she didn't think it was authentic but they have great service and even the food texmex is really good. Big portions!

Went for the sopapilla (old school Mrs. Lady's style) and found instead a good Mexican restaurant (to our SoCal tastes). Ordered some food and found tasty items, reasonably priced. I'll try something different for my main drink - the marg was sweet for my taste. When we want mex at the lake, we'll be back.
