This is our 4th season using Portside Marine for all our boat maintenance and storage requirements. I can't imagine anyone else providing better service. Both Robbie and Peter have consistently time and time again gone way above the call of duty to keep us on the water all season. Earlier this season I had an intermittent issue with one of my engines shutting down for no apparent reason and would restart right away. On Memorial Day weekend the problem went solid and we had to limp back to dock on one engine. I figured we were done boating for that that weekend. I called Portside and Robbie came over that Sunday and fixed the problem (Shorted Ground wire on the Fuel Pump) and saved the weekend for a big outing we had planned that Monday. In Mid July I had a charging problem with the boat for the second time. Robbie changed the design and went with a better solution and got it resolved, while testing it he noticed one of the outdrives was noisy. We had a big 4 day weekend coming up to go to ProvinceTown and Robbie got the boat pulled and had to replace the gimbal bearing and bellows. They got it fixed and back in the water in a day! On the ProvinceTown trip we encountered another problem. When we arrived and were approaching our slip for docking we realized we essentially had no control of the boat when in reverse. We had to go in Bow first and manually turn the boat around. I called Peter and Robbie right after we got settled in and they got on the phone with me right away. We trouble shot the problem together over the phone and got things to the point where we could at least get back to home port with both engines and still enjoy the weekend we had planned. The boat is being worked on as I write this. We usually don't have this many issues in a season however I never feel like I'm on my own when I do have problems. I am a first time boat owner. The thought of rounding up all of the supplies that I need to get the boat ready for the season was causing me allot of anxiety. I decided to call Portside Marine because they are close by. When I called this morning (not really knowing what I needed) I was expecting to get the usual "your wasting my time" attitude that you get when you call other parts counters. That was not the case. Dennis took his time explaining and asking the right questions to help me find the parts I needed. He was more than helpful. I gave him the serial numbers for my engine and outdrive and he said "I will take care of it". When I arrived to pick up my parts and ask questions. I was greeted by Maureen who had fifty things going on and several phones ringing, because this is their busy time of year. She apologized for the brief delay, and as soon as she was done she gave her undivided attention to my order. I told her who I was and she put a big box of parts and supplies on the counter which Dennis carefully put together containing all and more of what I needed, using his experience he filled my order as if he was going to work on his own boat. Maureen then entered my serial numbers into there database and gave me more information about my boat. She then showed me how to navigate through parts diagrams to find what I need and how to identify it. Doing business with Portside has been a great experience and I am now a loyal customer. As a former US Coast Guard Cutter CO and Marine Transportion CEO, I have been to many a boatyard over the past 50 years. Portside Marine's owner (Peter Bramberg) is a "Class Act" (A+) and his entire TEAM is cut from the same cloth. I bought a boat in November 2022, that was stored on the hard (at Portside Marine) for the winter. I was aiming to transport it to Texas in the Spring 23. I was definitely a short term customer but they still treated me like family right up to my boat's departure for Texas on Saturday morning, June 17, 2023. All of the work items that I had requested to be completed prior to pickup were finished to perfection. My Transport truck ended up arriving very very late Friday afternoon. My brand new trailer "set up" didn't match the hull form correctly. Yet every member of the TEAM maintained their smiles, worked well into the evening Friday and finished the preparations for the 2,000 mile trip.The Portside TEAM, Facility and Equipment are A+! This is my third year of working with Portside Marine. I am extremely pleased with their service and professionalism. I've used them for servicing the boat during the boating season and for winter storage including winter prep, shrink wrap, and summer startup. I have had nothing but good results with them. They have also gone above and beyond in solving issues/problems with the boat. Very good at special requests whether it was getting me in the water early this year even though there was non-stop rain or repairing the walk-through windshield door by putting in extra time that they did not charge me for and coming up with novel solutions for parts that are no longer available. These guys know their stuff! Our family has a small lake/ski boat which we wanted to re-power. I usually stay away from Marine shops which service large boats since our needs seem to get lost between the large (deep pocket) boater needs. Portside Marine changed my view. They gave us just as much attention as a large boat customer. They went through all of the controls on the boat and made sure everything was working great for the new engine. They tested multiple new props to find the perfect one for our water-ski runs. While delivering the boat on-time. We couldn't have been happier. Way to go! I have gone back for tune-ups, new impellors, trailer work, beat up propellers and anodes, and most recently a new Mercury 60 HP 4 stroke. Talk about responsive and caring service! My daughter and grandkids were flying in for our annual summer vacation in Maine on Sunday and my outboard crapped out on Thursday. Peter was great in helping me deal with a defective mercury inflatable that I didn't even purchase from them. I dropped off the defective inflatable and Peter went to bat for me against mercury even when they thought nothing should be done. The end result was I got out of my defective inflatable into a comparable Mercury Dynamic at no extra cost to me.
