First bought lumber for 2 homes and they completely messed up the order. Told them I had a strict deadline for framing to start and sales rep kept lying to me that lumber is here and no worries we will have it to you on schedule. The day before the delivery date get a call that only half the lumber is here rest will be here in 2 weeks. After back and forth got switched over to another sales rep who was a little better and he was able to give me a store credit for lumber that wasn't there and I had to go buy it from somewhere else. Only reason I went back to them is because of the second rep, Javier, who seemed more honest but he quit as I was in the middle of placing my 3rd order. Then for the third home placed an order and again delivery showed up with missing critical material. Asked them to refund the cash I paid for the extra material so I can buy it locally and instead of understanding the issue, Roman ("the owner") got on the call with me and started calling me names and being belligerent. He wouldn't refund the payment and is trying to force me to take the lumber. I told him I can't accept lumber 3 days after framers are already done and I paid for delivery and everything as required so the fault is not on my end. He didn't seem to care or even tried understanding it. Avoid the headache and go somewhere else! Too many other reputable lumber yards in Houston to deal with these people.

Integrity. Knowledge. Conscientiousness. That's Bo Barber in a nutshell…read more === The short story === I hired Barber Inspection Services to inspect my new home. Bo arrived on time. Spent hours (I think it was 5 or 6 hours) inspecting the property inside and out. He delivered a detailed report the next day. While I had done walk throughs on numerous occasions, he exposed 100s of issues that needed to be address or at least understood. He's an expert that will not disappoint, and he's fairly priced. === The long story === Bo has done work for me over many years. Each time, I was impressed. He's amazingly detailed and organized. He's timely, skilled, and fair. My experiences were fantastic. The outcomes always met and usually exceeded expectations. He has become my trusted advisor. Bo developed his chops in construction, and has done home improvement. He's an amazing carpenter. He refinishes furniture. He does project and design work. He knows wood, masonry, concrete, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, and electric. He only does work he can do well, and never oversells. He delivers on time and on schedule. I'd call Bo a timely perfectionist... that's a person who gets it just right but delivers it on time. He's a detail person who can make sense of a 1000 of technical nits and distill it to language that laypeople can understand. When I heard he was moving into home inspection, was both happy and sad. I was selfishly sad he was moving away from construction and trade work, but ecstatic to hear that he was was starting his inspection business. I knew he had all the skills and characteristics to be an amazing home inspector. Okay... So where am I going with this big back story? As serendipity had it, we were moving to a new home and I needed a home inspection. I had worked with other inspectors in the past, with lackluster results. But now, there was only one name on the list. I hired Barber Inspection Services to inspect my new home. Bo arrived on time. Spent hours (I think it was 5 or 6 hours) inspecting the property inside and out. He delivered a detailed report the next day. He exposed 100s of issues that needed to be addressed or at least understood. He's an expert that will not disappoint, and he's fairly priced.

Given that this is not always a common occurrence to purchase a home, it takes a bit of trust to know that you'll have the right company inspecting the home. During the process, Bo went step by step, combing through every detail of the home. There were even things that were code items that we received pushback for which was able to be corrected with the strong knowledge base that comes with experience. Also, the builder required the inspection company to have $1Million in insurance coverage. This typically is to push unassuming home buyers to not do a proper inspection and "trust" the builder. Having Bo on our side, I knew we had a neutral 3rd party that had the knowledge to hold the builder accountable AND had the necessary insurance coverage.
