Beautiful 2 hour ride this morning thru the forest and by the lake. Our guide Cohen was great and the horses were very well trained. This was a great experience and a special treat for me since I don't have my own horses any longer. I highly recommend the stables.

Loved this place! First of all the wranglers are awesome people (Aaron and Jeff) Second, the scenery is amazing. Especially if you do a sunset ride, it's unbelievably beautiful I have never sat on a horse before and I was perfectly comfortable and the pace was great I went back for seconds

Gorgeous trail ride... I suggest the sunset trail ride if you can swing it. Ride around and through water taking in the views

We had a great time riding Saturday at Porter Mountain. We had a large group and when we arrived there was plenty of horses and wranglers waiting to assist. The two who went out with us (Trevor and Hannah) I believe were great. Hannah was keeping the young ones in front entertained the whole time. Ride is on a great trail with lake and creek. Highly recommend giving them a call and trying.

Getting ready for our trail ride!!

My 7 year old granddaughter and I had a wonderful 2 hour trail ride yesterday!!!! Hannah was amazing-- fun, patient and skilled. Our ride thru the woods and by Scott Reservoir was lovely. I highly recommend this stable!!

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. The ride was a wonderful experience for all of us and Hannah, our wrangler, kept the entertainment value high with her story-telling capabilities about the area. I highly recommend this experience to everyone!

Porter mountain stables are amazing this was our 2nd time riding here the 2 hour trail rides are perfect for us we have did many rides at other places and my husband use to own horses so we feel pretty comfortable their horses are well tempered and gentle the price is really affordable and the ranch hands are really good I highly suggest while in Pinetop taking a ride at Porter mountain stables

Had a blast at this place. Just did the 1-hour trail ride, which was plenty long for a couple of us "city folk." Been on a handful of horseback rides before, but the last thing you want is to not be able to walk the rest of the day, so for those more inexperienced or that don't frequently ride, the 1-hour is perfect. Our ride was beautiful and the weather was perfect (thank you NE Arizona in October). The staff were friendly, and guide was knowledgable, chatting with us the whole ride and answering all our questions. We got pretty lucky and were the only 2 on our excursion so we kind of got he private tour experience! A beautiful property and some nice souvenir items in the barn. Would happily sign up for another ride (with our young kids as well) if we get back up to Pinetop.

This is a must when coming to the Pinetop! My family did the 1 hour ride with wrangler Aaron. He is awesome, he lead our 6yr olds horse! The view is gorgeous!! We will ne

Wow! What a great day at the stables for our family! 3 big kids (14, 12, and 10 ) enjoyed something, TOGETHER! They felt comfortable with the wranglers and safe on the ride. They all enjoyed the quiet and the scenery. The manager was easy to work with and cheerful. The little ones were delighted too. I thought they would be upset they couldn't ride, but a short trot around the arena and don't play time at the playground by the pond was perfect for them. Thanks for a great experience Porter Mountain Stables!

1 hour or 2 hour trail with some obstacles like a creek where it was cool to go through on the horse.

We rented the entire…read moreBunkhouse and Chalet buildings with queen, king, and shared twin bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as one of the cabins. At this size rental, the owners allowed us full use of the industrial kitchen and lodge. At the time of our stay, the kitchen was completely ready for cooking with every pot/pan/utensil we could need to prepare meals, and the lodge had a lot of fun stuff to keep us busy: volleyball net with volleyball, pool table, board games, and a ton of seating for hanging out. The common areas of the Chalet and Bunkhouse also had a seating area with board games, and a TV with DVD player and DVDs, and a kitchenette w/ fridge and microwave for making coffee/tea and heating food. The owners of Aspen Lodge could not have been more kind and accommodating. They got about a dozen or more of us in for horseback riding while we were there. The horseback riding trail was beautiful and fun. I highly recommend staying at Aspen Lodge, especially if you are a big group and want to stay together and get lots of quality time. The rooms had a lot of charm and character with very sweet unique decor & art in each. The accommodations are not fancy or luxurious. The room felt much more like staying in a family's house than a hotel (i.e., the bed, linens, towels were not fancy, but they were clean, the bed was a bit worn in - probably not amazing for someone with a really sensitive back). All that said, you and your family will have a fantastic time here!

The horse were spectacular and perfect for new riders. We arrived at the site and they had prepared a wonderful lunch and had a table and white linen overlooking the beautiful forest. A fire was made and we enjoyed our new friends. If there was a rating higher I would give it! A perfect and memorable experience and my new wife is already talking about another trip there next year.
