Kevin (Greer by Horseback) took our older teenage daughters out on a ride this last week. It was easy to book and he was easy to find. His corral is in a beautiful part of the White Mountains (near Big Lake) so the scenery was top notch and their trail was gorgeous. They said he was a great conversationalist and they really liked their horses too. The horses were in great shape and well cared for. I always get sad when you see trail horses that aren't cared for as they should be, but that was not the case here. Next time we're in Alpine we're going to go back. If your looking for the best way to take in the beauty of Greer, this is it! A lovely scenic drive brings you to the horse stables in the national forest. Our guide Kevin (who is also the owner) could not have been more knowledgeable or friendly, and the horses were so beautiful and well-behaved! The trail is about an hour in length, and Kevin shares facts about the land and points out wild animals along the way (deer, elk, birds). Such a great outing for all ages. My son and his girlfriend had the best experience! Kevin, their guide,was wonderful! He took photos of them and airdropped them after the ride. The horses were beautiful gentle trailriding quarter horses. Horses of different levels of experience seemed to be available. Well taken care of horses - Beautiful! They also got lucky and saw a baby cub bear although none were quick enough to get a picture of it. My son and his girlfriend said the 1 hour ride was well worth the money spent! read more

Kevin was a great guide and we enjoyed our ride. We had a bolt of lightning strike about 600 yards from us and the horses performed beautifully. I loved the convenience of being able to book online. The drive from Greer to where the horses are currently kept was beautiful and we got to see a lot of wildlife along the way. We're hoping longer rides will be offered (half-day) next year! read more

Greer by Horseback was exactly what we had hoped! Just a short beautiful drive out of town, in the scenic White Mountains, our trail ride was a dream. Kevin (the owner/guide) was knowledgeable, funny, and kind ~ he even paused to take group and individual pictures of each of us on horseback. We also saw deer and elk! This was an amazing experience!! Definitely a MUST do if you are in Greer. Wasn't sure how my 17 yr old son & nephew were going to react, but they had a great time!! We took our family of 5 on an hour long ride through the White Mountains. Our youngest loves to go horseback riding and we search for those opportunities on our yearly visit to Greer. We loved our guide - he was wonderful and we loved that he took us thru some beautiful meadows. Highly recommend! We will be returning!!! read more

Greer by horseback is located just south of Big Lake. Google maps shows you how to get there. The trail takes you through peaceful meadows and aspen lined trails. I've been a few times now and we've seen deer, elk and wild turkey! I'll go again as soon as I can. read more

Great staff, very knowledgeable. Horses were well mannered and easy for the kids to ride. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The scenic views were great. Located near Big Lake AZ and the area is nice and cool all summer. read more
