Heather is AMAZING! My dog Shelby, a little Pomeranian mix, absolutely hates having her nails done. She has tried to bite groomers and vets in the past, so I was honestly nervous and kept apologizing in advance for what Heather might be walking into. Heather arrived right on time with a bright smile, professional confidence, and such positive energy. And somehow--she must have some kind of alpha dog magic--Shelby became putty in her hands! Not only did Heather trim her nails, but she also used an electric file to smooth them out afterward. Shelby's paws looked absolutely perfect--a true little PETicure! The entire experience was stress-free, professional, and far beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Heather to anyone, especially if you have a difficult or anxious dog. We will absolutely be calling Ms. Heather again! Also, I was surprised to also find out she does maintenance grooming as well! Butt trims, glands, ears, eyes.. u name it!! read more

Heather is amazing - she's quick to respond and was an absolute gem with our cat. The whole process took less than 5 minutes! We will definitely be calling again! read more

Heather is amazing she fits you in does what she has to do and honestly works well with my crazy Frank pug! He is the hardest thing to deal with and she just takes control and does his nails and it's over in about ten minutes. She is pleasant snd fun to talk to and just the best thing that's ever happened in my life with pugs! Thanks Heather! read more

Heather is amazing. Archie (the Pug) & Gus Gus (the Frenchie) love her (so do we). They hate having their feet touched and she knows exactly how to hold them so that they aren't super stressed out. I'd give her 10 stars if I could. read more

Heather is wonderful. The pups loved her and she did an amazing job on their nails. She came to us and really made a difference. I am grateful I called her!! read more

Heather is great! My cat, who normally fights me to have his nails clipped, was cooperative with Heather. She has a wonderful way with cats!! read more

Incredibly impressed with Heather like others said. It was just 15-20 min max but she did the impossible- she was able to cut ALL my pup's nails without the drama that we have every time we try! He is only 1.5 years old but he had just one groomer that has made him so adverse to nail cutting that he started trying to bite if we got near his paws for cutting. Since then we tried hit it was a good long many months since he had a good trim so his claws were as pointy as they come! She really did an amazing job and I can tell he won't mind her coming back- it could be she does it in the comfort of his home and out in an open space not a grooming van. Whatever it is, I have to say she is worth every penny if you are struggling with your dog's nails! Thank you Heather! read more

I wish I could give Heather more stars! Heather is an absolute rockstar! Kitty is very difficult - she has growths on her paws that make it even harder than it was before she had them. Heather just left our house and I'm absolutely blown away with how great a normally terrible situation is. She held Meowie, was so calming and nice...it was SUCH a different experience than ANY I've had in Meowie's 15.5 years. I can't tell you what a stressful event getting Meowie's nails done are. I have tried it all - taking her to a groomer (about 4 different ones), 2 vets, and 3 mobile groomers and either they absolutely can't get the job done or they get it done and it sounds like someone is being murdered. So Heather - thank you! I will be recommending you to everyone and will be using you always! You are amazing :) read more

Heather is a dog whisperer! I have a hyperactive, rescued terrier mix that will absolutely not tolerate me trimming her nails or even touching her paws, but when Heather comes over the dog melts in her arms! She is efficient and professional, easy to schedule with, and is done in less than 15 minutes. When she comes over my dog is happy to see her - and that says it all! read more

Heather is the best!! We have two kitties who are not exactly thrilled about the nail trimming process, including a Bengal, but it's no sweat for Heather. She is always on time, friendly and easygoing, and has a great demeanor with the cats. Heather is in and out in 10-15 minutes and their nails are nice and short when she's done, no bleeding, and the cats are happy. Scheduling is super easy with her and she's very flexible. It's so hard to find a mobile groomer who is willing to take on cats alone, so Heather is truly a diamond in the rough!! read more

Excellent nail trim for my senior pug and so convenient. Easy to schedule and I highly recommend!

I can't say enough about Heather! She's a true professional! She is responsive, punctual, organized and talented! My dogs are terrified to go to the groomer or have their nails clipped, yet they are always happy to see her! Not only is she friendly & great with pets, she is experienced and completes the trim quickly & smoothly eliminating much of the stress for both my dogs and myself! Thanks, Heather! read more

Heather is fantastic! I mistakenly thought that I could buy a dremel and trim my own pups' nails. Wrong. It's tough and requires skill I just don't possess. What I love about Heather and her service is she's professional, quick, and she comes to your house. She also offers pop-up clinics at centrally located pet stores throughout Marin (if you do go to one of these clinics expect a short line because her faithful patrons all regularly attend). We've been clients of portable PETicures for nearly three years and I cannot recommend her enough! The price for her to come to your house may seem a bit spendy but I assure you, it's worth it. She arrives on time and works quickly. She's great with my 95 pound Berner (we usually assist with holding). My pups nails are smooth, short, and clean after Heather's handiwork. I know she does both cats and dogs. She's great! read more

Heather took great care of our elderly St. Bernard who desperately needed a nail trim. It was difficult to find anyone to cater to a large dog. Heather did so with skill and hardly breaking a sweat. Highly recommend! read more

Absolutely brilliant idea and even better reality. Heather comes in, takes control of (and doesn't take any shit from) your pet and gets it done. Bottom line: You might not be able to declaw cats anymore but you can certainly mitigate the pain and suffering the claws would otherwise cause by keeping them trimmed. Worth every penny and then some. (Added bonus: supporting one very cool woman who owns her own local business gets you huge karma points.) read more

What a terrific service Heather offers! My two girls, and my daughter's boy all have such pretty nails now! Heather arrived so prepared, tool bag in hand, smile on her face...our pets were happy to see her! Our Hurricane Katrina rescue pup had such over grown nails, and so much fur on her feet, that she was slip sliding away every time she entered our house....no more! Looking forward to having Heather come back every few months to keep the kids in tip top shape. Thanks, Heather! Laura Jenkins Scruffy Pearl, Cali, and Brody XOXOXO read more

Heather is fantastic! My old boy (14 years) is an indoor tuxedo kitty and was so scared, but she clipped those LONG nails so well that now he is sleeping like an old fur ball! read more

I am so thankful that there is a service that takes me off the hook for trimming our dogs' nails! We have two shepherds, both very sensitive creatures. For years I did my best to keep the female's nails clipped (a dreaded chore for both of us); then we got our male puppy. He's even more jumpy with the nails, so when I heard about Heather I jumped on board. Heather is extremely professional - will call if she's running a couple of minutes late, which is rare - as well as being so good with the dogs. They both love her, even though she's coming to perform their monthly trim that they dislike intensely! She's sensitive to their moods, can read dogs well, and handles them beautifully. And to top it off she's just such a nice person. Thank you, Heather, for providing this valuable service! read more

Heather is just awesome! I have to admit, I'm a wimp when it comes to cutting my dog's nails. I can bathe my own dogs, but clipping their nails is a whole different story. I have to take them to the groomers just to get their nails done. I can't say enough good things about Heather. She's very professional, responds quickly to calls, makes scheduling easy, AND, she comes to my house!! Talk about convenience. My dogs know her well now and really like her. She's really very sweet. I have a pretty hectic life, so having the convenience of this type of service is just perfect for us. Thank you, Heather, for being smart enough to bring this very needed service to us. read more

absolutely purrrrrfect! cutting the nails on 2 of my 3 cats is a 2 person job, tho' one person CAN do it if they don't mind losing a little blood and the occasional visit to a plastic surgeon. but with heather, doing all three was a snap! corralling my little 10# alpha cat 'dora' took longer than the clipping - once heather and i cornered her, i just scruffed her; heather cut her claws in roughly one minute, and doing the other two (including dora's 25# scaredy-cat litter-mate 'guy' and her 10# mom, 'velvet)' was easy. i give heather my highest and unreserved recommendation. her expertise means that the process is extremely quick, resulting in far less stress for the cats - and best of all, i didn't bleed a drop! read more

Heather is AWESOME! I have two Italian Greyhounds and my little girl has congestive heart failure so going to the vet or groomer is stressful...Heather truly loves my pets and it's mutual. So convenient too! read more

Heather is amazing! My 15 year old cat is red-flagged at the vet for psycho behavior but she is putty is Heather's hands. My big boy kitty looks at her adoringly and follows her around. She is all the other reviewers say and more. Thank you, Heather! read more

Heather is prompt, efficient, and completely comfortable taking on a cat who hates to be held. She was in and out in five minutes despite some nails that were in-grown. Not a drop of blood spilled! A total bargain considering that Saffron hates to be put in a carrier. read more

I discovered Heather's pet nail trimming clinic by chance and have been a regular customer ever since. I tried trimming my dog's nails using a dremel (and A LOT of peanut butter) but found that it's too difficult to do the job SAFELY by myself. Heather's professional experience and innate compassion help my anxious 70 lb. Rottweiler/German Shepherd, Sadie, to relax at her touch. read more

Portable PETicures is my saving grace! Heather is an absolute professional! I have three dogs. Two are not thrilled with nail trimming, but what dog is? Both will stand perfectly still for Heather. My third, which weighs in around 70 lbs is a huge baby. He screams at the sight of nail clippers and good luck trying to catch him if he hears a dremel buzzing! *Hate* would be an understatement. Before finding Heather, my only option for him was sedation. Not only is this very costly, I'm certainly not comfortable with my adolescent pup having to be heavily medicated on a monthly basis. I can't say that he loves Heather....yet. But with a few treats, he has definitely become more trustworthy and will allow her to do her thing. She is very respectful of his fears, quick but gentle, and efficient. I am confident she is slowly winning him over. Truly, no words can describe how grateful I am to have found her. I would highly recommend Heather, and DO recommend her to all my friends and clients. read more

Heather is fast, friendly and efficient! She is great with pets even the jumpy ones (Taco!) Im so glad to finally find somebody who can handle Taco during nail trimming section. Highly recommend! read more

I am so happy that I found Heather and her excellent pet nail clipping service. She does an excellent job, has a great way with animals and arrives timely. Taking my cats to a groomer or vet was extremely stressful for the cats especially traveling in the car. Having Heather come to my house allows me to hold them while she clips their nails rather than being separated from me. I highly recommend this service. read more

Heather is excellent! I have a rescue GSD who freaks out at all the noises at most grooming salons. I needed my girl to feel safe when she got her nails done. Having Heather come to the house has been the best. And, just as importantly, she understands how to work with sensitive dogs. She's excellent. Hire her! read more

Ditto all the wonderful comments about Heather and her service! We can't take our dog to a groomer because he is terrified of everything, starting with the car ride. Now that Heather brings the grooming to him, he no longer chews his long nails. We are so happy and highly recommend Portable PETicures. read more

Heather provides a great service. She is timely, reasonable in cost and ... mobile. The latter is why I first engaged her. My 95 year old mother lives at a retirement community and it was very time consuming for me to drive over, pick up Maxi, take her over to a pet care business at work hours, wait and drive the kitty back. (Maxi is the best cat in the world but hated being in the car.) Heather will let you know when she is coming or you can schedule her. read more
