Honestly I had one of the worst haircuts here. Half of my head has long hair. And the other half is short. I have to shave my head in order for it to grow right again. I just regret paying for this. Never will I come here again. I do not recommend this place if you care about your hair read more

This was my second trip to port parlor, first time I'd have rated 5 stars. However, after this second haircut (about a month between visits) I'm rating it a three. I tried to go to port parlor for my last haircut on a Sunday around noon. During which time they are stated to be open, I called twice, about 5 mins between each call but got no answer. I then drove over to find them closed. Perhaps they have their hours listed wrong on yelp?? I decided to stop by earlier today for a high fade. Upon hearing the haircut I wanted he called over some lady to watch him cut my hair, perhaps an apprentice? I Dunno. He then basically began to show off while cutting my hair. The entire cut. He never once asked if I minded being stared at for the better part of 20 minutes. I foolishly even thought perhaps the cut would be free or discounted seeing as how I was guinea pigged using various techniques. What really brought me to write this review however is that upon returning home, no only did I find the back of my neck razor burned and bleeding but many stray hairs on the back of my neck he missed. I have provided a picture. I should have taken a picture before cleaning the wound with soap and water, it looked much worse. However I'm a germ a phobe and didn't want to risk anything. This completely made sense to me however because after cutting my hair he did not hand me the mirror to check the back, he simply held it up to show me the sides of my head. I'm guessing he figured had I seen the blood he'd not earn a tip? I won't be back. Once returning home read more

Robert is the SHIT!!!!!! I moved here from the east coast in November and have always used the same barber since I was in high school. I walked in Port Parlor looking for a good fade and shape up. After my first haircut at Port Parlor I was hooked. He takes his time and always gives me a an outstanding haircut. People always compliment me on my fresh fade. I have Robert to thank for that. One of my favorite things about Port Parlor is he always has good music playing and he offers me a water or a cold drink from his fridge. The little things like that is what keeps me coming back every week. read more

Was looking for a new barbershop for my son and happened to pass by this shop one day. It looked very clean and like a pretty cool shop from the outside. Decided to give them a try. I am so happy that I did! From the minute you walk in, you feel welcomed. Robert and the other staff greet you and are so friendly. The previous shop we used to go to barely even acknowledged you when you came in. Robert did such an amazing job with my son's haircut and was so personable. My son was so happy with his cut. Just moved to San Pedro-had to jump from the high dive and find a new stylist. It causes me great anxiety to put my hair in a straNgers hands. From great reviews, I chose Vanessa at Port Parlor. As I observed, the whole crew were complete professionals giving amazing haircuts non stop. I had the privilege of having Vanessa as my stylist( made an appt) She did a beautiful color with highlights. I have a bit of gray coming in and my roots needed some attention. I am so pleased and happy to have found my new go-to salon. Previously had my haircut somewhere else but I look forward to returning to port parlor and Vanessa to take care of that as well. read more

I did some reading (Yelp reviews) prior to making an appointment and let me just say this place Rocks!! Robert was my guy and when I say he gave me the perfect cut I am not lying!! He is amazing, very meticulous, and definitely knows what he's doing. I sat down in his chair and showed him the type of cut I was looking for - prior to Covid I had a pixie cut, not the case after 4 months of no hair cuts! He said OK and went to work. I am EXTREMELY picky about my hair cuts especially bcuz it is so short once done. I can't tell you how happy I am, he nailed it!! So glad I found him, I won't be going anywhere else - BTW there were 3 other barbers in the shop as well and from what I saw they were all in point too!! The shop had a great vibe & I immediately felt comfortable being there. read more

I was visiting family in San Pedro on the front end of a business trip when I realized I needed a haircut. After calling around to half a dozen places, I landed at the most reasonably priced shop, Post Parlor. The decor was Port of LA/mariner themed, the music was hip-hop and rap played lightly in the background, and the shop was well-maintained and clean. Although I had to wait a little longer than I'd planned, the service and cut was well worth the wait. In an age where customers are just a number, Port Parlor delivers an old-fashioned customer-focused service in a fun and modern setting. read more
