Every haircut I've had in the last year was great up until my most recent cut with a guy I haven't tried yet. He (Ray?) was really awkward the whole time we were talking in the session. I asked for a medium skin fade with an inch chopped off at the top. This man proceeds to shave my hair into a BUZZ CUT. At that point, I was too traumatized to throw a fit ON VALENTINE'S DAY. I'm pretty sure the other barber, Kylie, could see I wasn't feeling so hot about this cut. Unfortunately, it was too late for me to try to salvage the cut into something I wanted, so I will just try to live with this buzz cut because at least I'm still not ugly. I've attached a photo of the cut I usually get. Communicate with your stylist and show them pictures of what you want, over and over just so that you're on the same page. Be more vocal when they're not doing what you want. I really wish that I was honest about how much I hated this haircut that ruined Valentine's Day for me. Lesson learned. I'm never getting a haircut from Ray (think that's his name) again. read more

Every barber in there is top notch, and I've seen their cuts for all ages (and types of cuts), and they're exceptional. After losing my barber of 2 years, I found this place from Yelp, and booked an appointment with Adrian. And ever since, he's my guy. His cuts are always phenomenal...and he goes the extra mile. He'll never rush, and his attention to detail is unmatched....and he's just an all-around nice guy. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

This may be a Barber Shop However, In my opinion this is a Vintage Luxury One Stop Shop ! Ladies did you hear me not only can you bring your man here while he gets shaved or gets that fade. So he can take you out for the weekend. Your entire family can be serviced here with multiple services same time if waiting a drink may be offered I frequently drove passed this baber for several years never once stopped. Well when you have a bearded man barber shops are hard to find that offer quality, great service and a tastey beverage ! The owner is great and thee entire staff everyone spoke to us and we all laughed loved the vibe and atmosphere most definitely at this barber shop. We need more good times. Parking is tight only downfall for a great barber shop but worth the agony of finding a spot ! read more

Robert has been cutting my hair for about 5 years now and I won't go anywhere else. Great cut every time! I have been taking my son to get his hair cut here since he was a toddler. However, I was getting my own hair done at another salon. When my highlights weren't exactly what I wanted as far as tone and placement, I started looking at local places on yelp since I don't have social media. I found Lorena's work through her photos on the Port Parlor yelp page and loved her work. I have had two separate ppointments with her, consisting of toner, highlights, haircut, and treatments, and I am so glad I found her. She is enjoyable to talk to, does gorgeous work, and charges reasonable prices. I am so thankful to have her as my stylist, and my hair has NEVER looked this good. Check her out! read more

I have been coming to Robert Castillo's Port Parlor barbershop for the past 5 years. I had a terrible past experience with my previous barber. Robert welcomed me with open arms and it was a great surprise to be appreciated as a customer. I have witnessed Robert going out of his way to welcome walk ins and new customers feel like they are very welcome and appreciated. Robert goes out of way to make you feel special with his complimentary beer, wine or water. I highly recommend Robert and Port Parlor to anyone looking for a great haircut and a place to call home. Well done Robert read more

Waited close to an hour for a haircut. None of the barbers spoke as I walked in. No one asked how they could help. Terrible communication and service from the boss. Whoever is the barber that's close left to the entrance barely does anything. Did 1 cut as I walked in, didn't offer me a service. Sat in the back room whole time as I waited, could've cut my hair in the meantime. I didn't need much, just a line up. Wouldn't recommend if you're on schedule. read more

Over the years this spot has always been my go to for a great haircut and great service overall. Rob and his team have always come through with attention to detail hospitality. Hair cut prices are fair and the service is quick. Highly recommended this San Pedro staple. The crew here takes care of the whole family. From my father to my teen son. All are happy and satisfied with all the barbers. The new kid John hooked me up last week, but I've also had many of the members of the staff cut me up. All in all , you won't be disappointed. Appreciate you guys. read more

I've been seeing Lorena for a year now and I absolutely love her work. She is very communicative and open about discussing what I want and will work based on my hair health. She's great at making sure we're understanding what I want and will share what she plans to do. She always brings my vision to life. I am thankful for her and sharing her talents. Also how she takes initiative to continue to educate herself about the latest hair colors, trend, techniques and products. It's not easy to find a trusted hair dresser who has your strands as their best interest. The shop is also very trendy, welcoming and well maintained. read more

The best barbershop in socal, but the best barber there is drew. I've been going with him for over three years. I'm really surprise he doesn't charge more. Honestly what a deal with $35 being the standard price for a cut. Super cuts is $30, and they don't know how to cut hair like them. Drew is such a great vibe and always willing to go the extra mile. He's instagram is drwblenz. Go check him out would highly recommend read more

I had a great experience with the barber at PP. I didn't catch his name. Prices are reasonable, and as a non-binary individual in a predominantly male space, I feel the owner went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. He even knew what kind of hairstyle I wanted, styled up like P!nk. Anyway, he suggested the right gel and hairspray to make that happen. I got a nice little low fade with the back lined up (as they taught me), it feels feminine and masculine at the same time, which is exactly what I wanted. They also got rid of a lot of my hair on top which was waaayyyy too bushy and out of control. So thanks team!! Way to go boss. I am terrible with names. read more

Amazing atmosphere. This place is good. I've been complemented several times on my haircut. Thanks!

I wish I didn't even have to leave one star.. Idk what the barbering services are like here but avoid Lorena the stylist in the back. In one session she managed to almost blind me and bald me. She claims she didn't use bleach but she put chemicals in my hair and it all fell out on one side. I even have scabs on my scalp. She has also permanently altered the texture of my hair. She also splashed my clothes with dye and she somehow managed to splash it in my eye and almost blind me. She knows what she did but claims my stress and worry from my damaged eye was making my hair fall out. I will be reporting her to the boards and suing her for pain/ suffering and hair loss/ injury, as well as, reporting this shop to the proper authorities. Please everyone, use caution when visiting this place!! See pics for reference and evidence. read more

I've gone to the same hair stylist for several years and it was only until COVID hit that I had to find a different hair stylist because my current one was not taking clients. I became a client only a few months ago and I was so fortunate to have been able to meet Lorena who is hands down an amazing stylist. I was at a point where I needed a change and my hair was in desperate need of some reviving. Lorena did an amazing job of making me feel beautiful again with my hair and even took the time to educate me on certain products and techniques to help style my thinner hair. I've gone back 2 additional times already because she's THAT GOOD. Highly recommend Lorena to help breathe life into your hair. 10/10!!! read more

very bad and dirty place sent my son back with a rash thats been in his neck for more than 6 months already

They messed up my sons haircut and still charged him full price. The barber didn't care how is cut come out

Made an appointment for what would have been my 4th trip to this shop. Absolutely no complaints about my previous trips. Showed up 10 minutes early for the appointment. Sat on my butt for a total of 25 minutes while the barber for whom I had made the appointment with shot the breeze with the man who's hair he was cutting. Call me impatient, but I regularly put in 12-13 hour work days. My time off is precious to me. I felt that my time was disrespected by this conduct. Whether I return to this shop or not is definitely an open question. read more

Kylie who cut my sons hair did an amazing job she was so sweet and really knew how to handle a child's hair cut( my son was screaming crying and I had to hold him down ... no mistakes no random patches she was amazing! The owner Robert was a really nice guy as well even went out of his way to grab my other little one a tissue to wipe his face while enjoying his lollipop... both kids left with a treat and a smile thank you for the amazing service we will be back soon! Single mom taking my son in for a hair cut is never fun. I've been to places where the men are so rude and derogatory. This place is great. Love the vibe. They are so respectful and all the barbers are professional. My son had a horrible attitude and all the barbers got on him for talking back. As a single mom it's nice when I receive outside support. They let him know that rudeness is not cool. THANK YOU I would recommend this place. Son received attitude check and great haircut. Cut was done by Frankie (loved her, wanted her to be my BFF ) read more
