***100th Review***…read more Over the last week, I've been thinking long and hard about which establishment I want to dedicate my 100th review to. It's a meaningful milestone for me in the Yelp world and I want to choose wisely. I remember reading about the CEO of Yelp, Jeremy Stoppelman, who had the idea for Yelp, Inc initially when he had trouble finding a local doctor in 2004. It comes back to the idea of community, service and sharing and I decided to dedicate my review for this Target store in Bristol, VA. Now I've actually never been to this Target store and my dealing with them is purely by phone. However, they really touched my heart in an above and beyond way and here's how. Last week, the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target line launched and I had totally forgotten since I was celebrating my best friend's birthday that day. 2 days later, when I realized that I had forgotten to place the orders for the items I wanted, the online inventory and stores were sparse and it was especially hard to find the one item I really wanted, their large black tote bag with gusset. I called around and went to the local Target stores all around me, none had it and I was quite bummed. I decided to branch out and check inventory elsewhere and came across this store. From the moment I spoke with a store employee I felt the lovely Southern hospitality. Christine, the store manager, was kind and helpful. She had a bag in stock but they were unable to take payment over the phone and I live thousands of miles away. I asked if they could ship it to my local store and she said that it isn't company policy but she can check and get back to me. 2 days later, Christine called me and said she'd be happy to ship the bag to my local store. She said she also emailed all the store managers in that store to make sure they will call me when they receive the bag so it's not accidentally put out on the floor. I was amazed! This level of customer service is really a step above the rest and I am thankful they went to so much trouble to make a customer happy. Thank you, Christine and the crew at Target Bristol! Hopefully one day, I'll be out there for a visit.

It always feels like home as long as there is a Target close by. Not a large grocery section here…read morebut you will find organic eggs, organic milk and other organic selections. They have the Earth's Best brand kids' meatballs and chicken nuggets which are a staple in our home...unfortunately... Oh you, picky toddlers!! Their wine selections seem a bit overpriced here compared to Food City. A bottle of the newest Barefoot Refresh Summer Red runs $3 more at Target. Who wants to spend $7.99 when you can get it up the hill for $4.99? Certainly not me. Don't let the cheap price tag fool you, that wine is faboosh! On the plus, there's a Starbucks inside.

Mail out cards with coupons throughtout the year and even friendly calls when that something special arrives to be picked up. Huge selections of gifts and cards to choose from. Never dealt with a company whom needed communication nor customer service training more than this…read moreone. We ordered a washing machine which was supposed to be delivered Friday June 4th. After not hearing anything by 4pm on the 4th we called since the store closes soon. We were given several excuses about why it was not delivered and also told they cannot contact their drivers in the field. We were informed we would be called Saturday to see if they could deliver it then. We never got a call back, so we called again on Saturday afternoon and were told the person whom was to deliver was off on that Saturday. We called the 1-800 today at around 5:45pm (June 7th) to cancel the order as we will buy one elsewhere and we're told they could not cancel because it was in route for delivery. According to tracking, it is NOT on a truck for delivery but PENDING delivery and tracking stated they would call to schedule delivery... We called the local store again with a few minutes to spare (closes at 6pm Sat) and we're told they would let "Mike" the delivery driver know Wednesday when he comes in that we canceled our order. This is pretty laughable for any business, not sure what the deal is in Abingdon, VA but some management could use a few fire logs under their chair. Aaron's is a joke of a company. Now I am going to bet my order never gets cancelled and they try to deliver here without even so much as a phone call.

Their prices are decent and I like how everything is merchandized in the store. Our dollar general is run very well and the employees seem to take pride in their work. I rarely see carts or merchandise out on floor and merchandise is arranged nicely. That is important to me. I've been to many that are just messy and disorganized to shop in - this store is really nice. Yes they are all over the place in this area but some days I really don't feel like shopping at the big box stores and like really knowing where items are without having to hunt constantly.

For Hobby Lobby in Johnson, City, TN - Be careful on what you get from the weekly ad. I went in to…read morepurchase a lantern with is 50% off because it was home decor (per the ad, and said so on the in store tag). I got to the check out and they said it was full price because the tag said "candle" not "lantern". What constitutes a "candle"? It has no wick, no wax, and it was metal. Looked like a lantern to me. The checkout girl said they had to go by the tag. This was extremely deceiving, poor business practices, and was not the first time that I have experienced this. I will not be going to Hobby Lobby ever again. Michaels just got my business for good.
