Had my first experience here with Ricardo. He did an amazing job. I have a sensitive scalp and he used my own product so it wouldn't harm my scalp. He also did a cut that was picture perfect from what I brought. I have a difficult beard with it growing in different directions and he did a great job trimming it perfectly. Friday, Feb 23rd. I needed to make a flight to Phoenix at 12 noon for a great friends wedding. I work way too much. I have my barber that I would normally go to back home. He's probably forgotten my face because I haven't had a day off in months. I take my cuts seriously. I had to leave for the airport directly from work and could not get a cut before I departed. Saturday, Feb 24th. We're getting prepared for the wedding the next day. I'm getting anxious about finding a great barber. I start looking at Yelp and see a ton of "barber" shops in the area that look ok but aren't full service--what kind of self respecting barber shop doesn't offer shaves? Then I found Pop's in my search. Great reviews, full service, great pricing. What caught my eye is that they let their customers hair do the talking. They feature their work instead of decor, something not lost on a potential customer sifting through a litany of barbers. I called the shop to verify that walk-ins were welcome and was greeted very warmly on the phone by pops. His welcoming phone presence was what sealed the deal for me. I showed up with my fiancee and buddy who we're staying with. Pops greeted us and every other customer who walked through the door in a very cordial way. The wait was about 30 minutes which I'm used to for the barber in my town. No big deal for a great cut. I then sat down with pops and had a great conversation. I conveyed what sort of cut I wanted which included a razor fade and a beard line up/shave. He proceeded to confirm that he is a consummate professional. He took extreme care in every step of the process. Friends, I'm here to tell you that I'll be sad to return home after this. I'd love to continue to give Pops my business. Everybody there has been welcoming, done a great job on my boys and husbands hair and is priced affordable.
