I am consistently impressed with the hair cuts they all receive as well as the barbers interactions with my kids. One of my boys has sensory issues and can be very jumpy throughout a haircut, he has always been met with patience and understanding - which means a lot to me. Choosing to use a barber over a typical hair cut place is a large price difference. I've never been disappointed when choosing this barber over taking them to great clips or somewhere cheaper because of the cuts they receive and the customer service. I have been a customer of the Brooklyn barbershop for the last ten years and I have come to know the owner and head barber Art as he is not only a barber but a friend to all his clients. The warm ,friendly and positive environment that he and all his team orchestras day in and day out makes it a true pleasure for all clientele. From OG Mike to Tim, his wife Mercedes, Jacob, Zara (probably spelling wrong) and all barbers who are and have been apart of the team leaves clients laughing and smiling from the pleasant and professional environment that drives this business. I walked in and it had a very nice chill vibe to it and the Barber I had Kiko Acosta was really chill! The service was fast and quick with quality as well! I will be coming back here again! I went into the shop for the first time last year as a woman never had any experience at barbers. I asked for a fade and was immediately greeted by warmth from a few barbers who I later found out to be the owner's. Pretty rad family and have been continuing to go ever since! Mercedes hooks it up and I love how I can check availability the day before and still get in during my desired time slot! Refused to cut my twins ( who are autistic ) hair that "OG" Mike has been cutting for a while now and today he said it was "too hard" for him and I booked the appointment online. He was trying to take other walk ins before us. The owner Arthur didn't even care either. So if they don't want our business then I'll take it somewhere else but they are wrong for that. I've always tipped good and was patient and understanding. They're unprofessional! They don't wear masks. Zara has OCD lol and their prices are way too much. You can get just as good of a haircut somewhere else for cheaper! Save yourself time and money and don't go here :) read more

Not my best haircut but not my worst. Probably didn't help that I got the oldest barber in there that wasn't familiar with what I wanted even after showing him a picture. What killed my star rating was him along what side I wanted my hard part on and putting it on the opposite side. Had so much fun training my hat to go the other direction til it grew out. read more

Use to go here until I realized you shouldn't have to wait 45min to get a decent hair cut. Thought if I paid double the haircut 45$ I would get hooked up BUT no Art would rather sell cars then cut hair now. Had me waiting 45min & then said he couldn't cut my hair because he had to go sell a car! This is not the first time this had happened! read more

Always have a great experience there. They do an amazing job. I've been to a bunch of places and these guys are always the best around by far. The girls do a great job on my two very young nephews, no matter how bad my nephews behave during the cut. And I can go to anyone there and always get a great cut by all of them. What in the actual f***?! It was hard enough for me to cut my little man's curls off and this is what we got!!! I specifically told the barber (the older guy) about my son's head shape and not to go high on the "fade". He didn't section of the top, just blind clipped and the sides are so uneven and zig-zagged. Also when he used the straight razor to line up the front, he did one big quick swoop across his forehead. That is sooo dangerous period, let alone to a 7 year old. read more

Well I just got the worst over priced haircut ever I asked for a regular hair cut and she cut way short on the side and left big long hair on top I'm getting frustrated going to more pricey places and getting a bad job I couldn't have gotten my hair this messed up if I went to great clips or supercuts I will go back today to see if they can fix it this is 2 times out of 3 they have messed up something. Went in the next day and the manager or owner first responded what do you want me to do sarcastically I said fix the mess she made another gale fixed my hair thx to her but as far as manger what a attitude I am not sure if I will be back because your 50/50 at best if you get what you want. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had. The customer service was terrible, I was hoping to get a haircut on a good day, but the barber was high on drugs and was falling asleep while cutting my hair, he leaned on me several times with his machine, I was scared out of my life. During my conversation with the barber while he was cutting my hair, he asked where I was from, and I mentioned California. I'm not sure if tipping rates for haircuts are generally higher in Arizona or if this was influenced by me being from out of state I reached out via message here on yelp for clarification but never received a response. Because of this tipping setup and lack of communication, I'm deducting two stars--otherwise, it would have been a perfect five-star experience.

So let me share our 5 star experience:…read more I took my 5 year old son for a hair cut (to a pretty typical hair cut place) two days before picture day at school... what a mistake that was. ‍ The girl HACKED his hair up. It was BAD. That left me scrambling to find somewhere to fix it. I decided it would probably be best to take him to an actual barber who specializes in his type of hair cut. That's where The Dapper Devil and James comes in. I made an appointment for 5pm (now the day before picture day). Well... when we got there, my son was tired and generally overwhelmed by walking into a new place that looked different from the type of places he's used to going. He just melted down. I tried everything to talk him down and get him to come around to the idea. James was amazing, trying to get him excited but it just wasn't in the cards for us last night. James asked when I drop him off at school and offered to come in at 7am, THREE HOURS before they open to get my sons hair fixed up. We didn't need to be there till a bit later so 8am was totally doable for us and he insisted we come at 8am. Fast forward to the next morning (today). We got there at 8am and James was ready for us. My son was in a much better place and was happy to be there, but still a bit nervous. James was SO patient, kind, and even a little silly to get my son comfortable. He showed my son everything he was going to do, let him pick the comb color, the water bottle, etc to allow my son to feel like he was a part of the experience. James gave me some pomade and explained to me how to use it best to get my sons double cowlicks to sit down properly. And then.... He REFUSED to let me pay him for the hair cut OR the pomade. I practically begged to let me pay and he refused. He said he was happy to get my sons hair fixed up and give him a positive experience so he's excited to come back. Hair cuts have always been a touchy thing for my son, so thank you so much James and ALL the barbers there on Thursday evening who tried to help my son through the nerves. I would like to start this review off by saying that as an African-American who has been going to this shop for the last 3 years, I've never, not...one...single...time...ever experienced any type of racism or discrimination at this barbershop. If a shop were truly full of racist, as one reviewer said, you would think I would've had a confrontation with someone by now. Well I haven't, so I find that very hard to believe. So please don't believe those blanket reviews. Also, reviewers who complained about being passed up or ignored for other customers who walked in after them, clearly don't understand the concept of appointments. They have signs on the windows that say, "If you don't like waiting, it would be best to set up an appointment!" So they weren't actually being ignored, they just had to wait until the appointment (customer) was done first, which is how it's done in all other walks of life, like a doctor's office, auto repair shop, etc. Last but not least, I must say that Mayra is amazing! Not only does she do a great job with the clippers, but she's always fun to talk to while getting your haircut. If you set up an appointment with her, you won't be disappointed. read more

Recently moved to Arizona from Anchorage, Alaska. I'm normally not the one to take my son to get his hair cuts but today the job had to get done! I'm so glad I took him in. I walk in and they said 35 minute wait but honestly speaking it didn't even feel like it! I was so amazed by how fast these ladies were cutting hair and how GOOD they were at it! I haven't heard much of women cutting hair but I was so happy to see it and how fast I was in and out of the shop! Wow!! I have never been to Brooklyn before, but they must breed some top notch barbers over there. I have been coming to this barber shop now for almost a year. I can honestly say that nothing compares. A great atmosphere is in this shop every single day. Both Michael & Art are very easy to talk to, and even the guy who doesn't talk gives a wicked cut. Their prices don't make me depressed that I need another hair cut. In fact, sometimes I go get lined up just to soak in the good vibes that radiate from Brooklyn's Finest Barber Shop. Let me just say Brooklyn's Finest Barber Shop is the best barber shop in Arizona. I have been too at least 10 barbers but the best one is BROOKLYN'S BARBER, no one will fix your cut and understand what you need but Brooklyn's, this is why its one of my favorite place to go and get my cut. The owner is so friendly with everybody, every week I go there I feel like I am in my store, that's how friendly and nice they are sometimes Arthur stays after hours just to make the customer happy with his cut. I've been going to this barbershop for about 4 years now. It's always a pleasant experience. I usually get my hair by Mike who's a veteran in the business. I am always inspired by the young entrepreneur owner - Artur who also owns a barber supply shop down the street. The reason for the review now- I'm even more impressed with renovation the shop just completed! Largest Barbershop I've seen in Arizona with like 8 chairs which means no wait time. Definitely the best Barbershop in Phoenix. All the barbers are well experienced and very personable. I've had the pleasure of going here for YEARS and built quite the rapport with the owner and I refuse to let anybody else cut my hair. The service is impeccable. Dopest barbershop with way cool people working there! My barber Sabir works here and I couldn't ask for a better barber with greater skills. He hooks my cut up every time and is always cool to talk to while is the barber chair. The other barbers that work there are cool too. You can tell these guys keep up with the most modern styles. They offer a warm towel head treatment after and make the payment process super easy. Definitely stop by and you'll leave extremely happy. read more

Best barbershop! I drive my boys 45 minutes(one way) out of our way just to go here. It's the only place that listened when I asked them not to cut their 'man buns' Both of my boys have been trying to grow man buns for years but other shops always wanted to trim that hair and would always end up cutting it too short. Also, as a mom, I like that they don't make me feel like a fish out of water when idk the measure of cut they want. read more

I'm originally from Texas and back home there was only 1 person. I would allow to touch or cut my hair. Once I moved to Phoenix I searched for about 1 year going from place to place to find the perfect place. And thankfully I found Artur and his crew. Love this shop, been coming here since I was a kid. Love the staff. Everyone has amazing fading skills. Can't complain. Today I visited the barbershop on the corner of 19th avenue and Thunderbird otherwise known as Brooklyn's Finest. First time being here as I was recommended by Gregorio at Gary's barber supply up on Greenway and 19th avenue. I was serviced by Russ, quiet guy but this guy can fade and very quickly too I was in and out in under 15 for a low fade cut. 5 Stars definitely will repeat. read more
