We've been to Ollie's at least a half dozen times since they opened & NEVER leave without…read moresomething. Actually, always MORE than something - lol! Primarily food items & books. Our last visit had us leaving with several bags of my favorite unhealthy snack - Snyder's spicy pretzel pieces ("Buffalo Hot" & "Jalapeno") for less than half of what supermarkets charge, canned diced "Muir Glen" tomatoes for $.99 (that's a pittance compared to regular markets), Harry & David's expensive "Moose Munch" caramel popcorns for a pittance - you get the idea. They pretty much have a little of everything from soup to nuts at bargain basement prices. No dents or shoddy or expired stuff - everything is in prime condition. Since it's all overstock, clearance, or discontinued stuff, you can't count on being able to buy the same items when you go, but there's always something new & interesting to browse in the grocery department. Also be sure to check out some really terrific bargains on small appliances & cookware, & as for books - I'm a cookbook collector, & nearly always score a new volume or two when we visit. All at about a third or less of list price. Bottom Line: Interesting place to stop by occasionally for an ever-changing array of inexpensive finds. And if you sign up for their free rewards program, you get extra discounts on the already well-discounted prices.

When I first walked in, I wanted to turn around and walk out. It was a bit smelly at first entrance…read moreand the place seemed overwhelming. It's big. However, I carried on. I walked past an entire wall of cooking utensils, couple aisles of sheets, pillows, and comforters. It seemed to be in fresh packaging, like, it's not like there are rips and holes in everything. It's a million and one things for cheaper prices. Not really much clothing so that's good. Otherwise it would be just wayyy too much. The entire back of the store was full of area rugs, big and small. Like an enormous amount of carpets. I found it interesting, some were like $14 and they were pretty big. I walked in and out of prob hundreds of aisles. When I finally got to the 4th corner..... I was amazed. It was like Book-A-Million in there! And for extreme low cost. I bought a couple books. Star Wars Where's Wookie". Oh I love look and seek books. Hard back with hard pages for $2.99 people. I got a children's book of animals that has the U.S. English word and the Mexican Spanish word beside it. Hard back book. Hard pages. $1.99. I stayed in the books section a while. Great ideas for Christmas in the book section. I mean, they had an easy 300 books just about cooking. 3x as many for children. Self help, religions, etc. Tons of toys and body, face, hair care. Check the ingredients as always. Check for toxic labels as always. Always check that everywhere!!! Even Mr. Coffee, Coffee Makers have toxins labels. (Don't believe it? Go check). It's on the box on your local Walmart. The entire store, just like Walmart, basically is made, produced or manufactured in China. Not surprising. The store was interesting. I'll say that.

After my experience today, I will sadly never buy from this business again. As a loyal customer for…read moreseveral years, I am extremely disheartened and hurt to have been treated so rudely today. My husband ordered a flower arrangement online that looked like our wedding flowers for our big anniversary (10 years together). A florist called to let him know that they did not have some of the exact flowers shown in the bouquet that he ordered. When he called them back after work the florist told him they would still give us a similar arrangement that would look nice. The flowers that were delivered to us were not similar whatsoever, missing white and lavender flowers, as well as eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus. I can't attach a photo, but they were pink, orange, and bright purple. Instead of being told that our order wasn't possible, we were told that they already "made something nice" for us. My husband said that was okay as long as the bouquet would look similar to the one online. When the bouquet arrived, we truly thought the wrong one was delivered to our home. We called to sort out the issue and were told that we did receive the right bouquet, that this was similar to what we ordered, but actually more expensive. We asked to return the flowers for a refund since the flowers we received were nothing like what was wanted. I mean, when you spend $100 on flowers/delivery, you want to be happy with them! We don't spend that kind of money on flowers for something I don't like! Greg, the Culpeper manager, was extremely rude. He refused to give us a refund, insisted it was our fault, told me that I "should be grateful to get a more expensive arrangement", and finally agreed to give a refund for the incorrect bouquet, but said "you will be flagged to never buy from our stores again" and that I will have a "1 star rating in the national flower system, being marked as someone who will complain" so it will be difficult for me to order from other stores. I am baffled. Myself and my family have bought from the Elkton store for years, dating back to when they first opened. WOW! That's all I can say. On a positive note, the Elkton manager was understanding, apologetic, and in agreeable with my frustrations, for which I am thankful. She thanked us for complaining so that the wrongs could be made right and gave us a discount card for future orders. After being yelled over on the phone and my wonderful day dampened, at least I got my money back from the Culpeper store. Word to the wise, DO NOT order online and/or from the Culpeper location (online orders go to Culpeper). We have ordered via phone/in person from Elkton many times, including for our anniversary every year, without these issues.

I was drawn in by all the beautiful glazed pots sitting outside. I spent almost an hour pondering…read moreover which one to choose bc there were so many beautiful colors and designs, prices were good too. When I went inside I was greeted by a lovely lady who recommended the glass solar hot air balloons for the garden. I was skeptical, but she showed me a video on her phone, and I had to get one of those too. Wow! It's absolutely stunning! The pot is gorgeous too! Thank you so much!
