We opted for the set menu for four at just over €50 with a 1.75ml of diet coke chucked in. Thankfully we were allowed to make some changes to the set menu for personal taste so predominantly chicken. One of the dishes was a chicken korma and it would have been much improved had it been a chicken tikka korma. The service here is always courteous but it took a very long time from placing the order to being served the food. It was a Saturday night and it was very busy. The waiter had suggested we come back at 7:30pm having put in the order at 7pm. This we did, but we still waited until near 8pm to receive our food, with several gracious (and graciously accepted) apologies and courtesy as we waited.

The inside has AC and the atmosphere was cozy. The seats were super comfy. The food was also great since it was some Asian flavors during a trip of more European food! The duck noodle soup was creamy, the noodles chewy and the duck was crispy. I appreciate the green beans and bean sprouts in the soup as well to add veggies. The braised beef has daikons and carrots and those were so nice and flavorfully juicy. Korean chicken wings are saucy!

Lazat is a nice, spacious restaurant that serves Asian food and Peri Peri chicken. We started off with the salt and pepper wings and Peri Peri fries which were decent. The entrees though were really good and come with so much food. We had a few noodle dishes that for 10 euro came with a good amount of proteins and we're flavorful. The best value if the Turkish Meat Plate where it's literally a plate full of protein at 10 euros. In lieu of tap water, they provide complimentary bottled still. Wish there were more of these along our trip!

I was already at my wit's end driving all morning and wanting coffee, so I had hardly any patience to spare waiting for them. They finally noticed that we hadn't been addressed (with the help of my waving them over) and got our drink orders and food orders in. After they dropped off the food, we didn't see them again until we had to flag them down once again to pay. That being said, my chicken sandwich was incredibly delicious. My partner also enjoyed his tacos. Work on that service setup, guys.

Fresh and healthy superfood salads, juices, dairy free sweet treats, daily hot specials, 3fe coffee and teas - all offered with dairy free milk options. I had the superfood salad of massaged kale, chickpeas, and spiced cous cous (with cranberries, pomegranate and pesto) for lunch. For €7.50 it filled me up for the day and is far more exciting then the dull packaged leaves and uninspiring dash of olive oil salads you get in other establishments. These salads ARE the dish, not just a bit of green on the side - they demand your attention and don't disappoint on taste! Less than a 5 minute stroll from O'Connell St, in the summer it'd be lovely to get a salad to go at lunch time and eat it along the riverside. I imagine the menu will expand as the business does, as chef-cum-proprietor Carolanne is Ballymaloe trained and well travelled! They maintain an active social media presence @sweetbeatsligo and already have a loyal following of customers - including me! Watch this space, as it expands into something brilliant, its thrilling to see young businesses like this bringing the heart back into Sligo town.

During lunch time, it can be very busy and the tables can be full but there is plenty of tables and good turnaround time. Someone who finished their lunch was really generous and held the table until we ordered and got our food before leaving. I recommend checking out this cafe if you are in Sligo.
