However they decimated the salad with lashings of mayo and over-salted the chips. Service was lukewarm but probably owing to the fact the poor girl had to repeat umpteen times that alcohol will not be served until 5 pm. It was Good Friday when we visited ;-)

It has a very cool wine cellar vibe going on which makes the whole dinning experience a little better. The menu was small but good and the food was all really good. The staff was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Since we were traveling a lot when we stopped I was dressed fairly casual and I felt a little underdressed. I would have probably not worn sandals if I was staying someone close and knew a head of time. The staff didn't mind and didn't say anything to me. I think this is a great place to stop for food when visiting the Doors of thrones in Northern Ireland.

Damn bad show. We just turned up at lunch time today 13 June 2021, to an empty restaurant, as the…read moresign outside alleged it was open all day as we drove by. This town isn't the place to be for a delightful Sunday lunch. We had to drive round the back of this place and uphill to park up, as it's double yellow lines all round the front area. The bloke in front of us was just inside the narrow front entrance. He was trying to book a table for tonight. He said two people, then maybe three and within a few moments he has reached an equally uncertain four. It didn't matter to him that he was blocking the entrance nor that we were stood outside as he chopped and changed his mind and despite being cloudy 19c there was a breeze that made standing in short sleeved shirts unpleasant. As I listened to him it crossed my mind that he was just bored and maybe he had no intention of dining here this evening rather just whiling away the hours and why not just ring. There isn't much to do in Enniskillen centre Sunday lunch time. Mind you the time this was taking to arrange he could still be there this evening. We stood outside waiting and waiting as the young lady sat staring at a computer screen. She appeared to be having huge difficulty in completing what should have been a simple and straightforward transaction. We became impatient as it was clear at least that the staffer had no idea how to interrogate the computer reservation system. You'd think she would at least have an iota on availability just a few hours hence on the same day. We could see and hear other staff inside and are sure they saw us to. So we had enough, it was getting chilly in the breeze and they sure weren't that interested in us. So over a year out of work isn't sufficient to focus minds on customers who make pay days. Wow. They appear not to get the fact that they are in the business of hospitality.

We just happened to walk near the Route 66 diner. Since diner food is almost always a good option for us, we stopped to check out the posted menu. As we were reviewing options, the owner happened to be outside. We had some great conversation with her, and she provided fantastic information about the area. We both ordered one of the specials -- the gourmet burger. It was a delicious burger, and the sides were great as well. It was amusing to be in a restaurant with so much Americana during our visit to Ireland, but it was definitely a great stop with yummy food and great conversation.

Lisnaskea has a good compliment of Cafe's but The Hub Cafe really adds a modern sort of Left Bank…read moreflavour to the scene. Apart from the cyber-cafe, game console TV and general chill-out ambience the menu seems to be traditional informed by organic awareness with a fun food dimension for teenagers, which makes it perfect for an adult child like myself and all at affordable prices. My wife an I had a late breakfast which comprised of two full breakfasts, one vegetarian and the other not. My vegetarian rashers seemed to beat the real thing and with scrambled egg, beans, hash browns and potato cakes I was full for the day. Tea, toast and sweet for good measure too. Herself had something more traditional involving real pork. All for less than £15. We found ourselves chatting to the owner as her two daughters cooled it up apparently protesting against the weather, which of course really works. I've always found the weather in Ireland to be very impressionable. In any event we found lots of common ground and I wondered was The Hub more cosmopolitan than Lisnskea would know what to do with. I certainly hope not as I like having options in terms of the places I like to go and between Aughnacloy, Monaghan and Lisnaskea there ain't many. But Lisnaskea now has several very fine venues, The Hub being one. The only problem I see is that the sign, although a cool kind of lilac-purple, is set in a darkish plate glass window which keeps the place somewhat out of view despite being slap bang in the middle of Main Street. Still I don't like crowds so it suits me. I do like the places I like to remain open which is why I signed into Yelp to write this review.
