The wait time at this point establishment was nothing short of abysmal despite the lack of any real line, and then upon receiving the food, I was met with the taste of chemicals in the chicken, a cupcake so devoid of softness that it was comparable to a brick, and a dried out clump of cheese that took up at least a 1/3 of the cup of mac and cheese. As for the ambiance, the music was so horrendously loud that having a conversation without shouting was near impossible without being within mouth-to-mouth distance. Ordered through door dash and was wondering what is as taking so long since they're open till 11:00pm. I get a message from my dasher saying that the workers said that the place was closed and that they were refusing to take any order and were being flat out rude. All I know is I will never go to this popeyes again. Where to start? HORRIBLE SERVICE. you never know what you're gonna get when you pull into popeyes. Will you be able to place your order in the drive through or will you be inconvenienced to go into the restaurant to wait 30 minutes? I'm a Door Dash driver, and my experience with this Popeyes was horrible. I was picking up two orders on 3/13/25, and had to wait 20 minutes for one of the orders. Also, a woman came in as I was waiting. After about 10 minutes of her waiting I asked if she was waiting for an order - she said no she hadn't even been asked for her order. The total lack of customer service skills demonstrated by the crew there was very evident. I couldn't recommend this place less. read more

This is new and improved Popeyes let me tell six years I left abad review, but I am pleasantly surprised. The manager was knowledgeable. She took our order. She also waited on us to go have a seat and she will bring us our was clean nobody was sitting around everything picked up. The bathrooms was clean. The food was hot. Everything was 10 out of 10 this was a pleasant spirit. I would like to think all the staff at Popeyes think the new general manager for doing her job and making this experience great thank you so much. I will most definitely visit Popeyes again in Iowa because of this experience. read more

When we got their thry ask to wait for a minute brfore ordering, we did for 10 minutes. Then i asked if they were ready yet and the lady working rudely said no. It took another 5 minutes before anyone helped. We pulled up to the window and they took at least another 5 minutes before we got all of our food. If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I am a Door Dasher on occasion and I received no less than at least 3 orders while trying to get service at this store on September 1, 2022 at approximately 6:30 PM. Each order was subsequently denied and rejected by the manager and had to be declined and turned away. I will never return to this store or any other Popeye's ever again because of the venom and hate spewed by the employees at this establishment. They flat out refused service at the end and mocked me and told me they didn't want my business. The string of Profanity they used towards me was reprehensible and would have made Samuel Jackson blush. I am a mild mannered individual and was completely respectful up until the end. Did I mention I was on the phone the entire time with Door Dash help center trying to get my dashes resolved the entire time Popeye's employees treated me the way they did? Good afternoon, today at approximately 1:15 or so I was at one of your stores located in Waterloo Iowa! I had just got off the highway and I wanted a spicy chicken sandwich. At the drive thru window I gave the young lady my order, she asked me if I wanted a combo. I replied what does the combo consist of, "she said it's on the menu" I said couldn't U just tell me what it is she replied in a very negative sarcastic tone "CANT U READ" and she laughed! She caught herself and started telling me what the sides were. I pulled out of line out of disgust and furious anger. I didn't get the female employee name, but she was working the drive thru at that specific time, she's a light complexion black female and she smiled at me thru the window she either has a gap tooth top front or a tooth missing! We waited more then decided to go inside and inquire only to find the door locked at 4:30 in the afternoon. So we drove back around to the drive thru and they told us it would be 7 more minutes. First, I can't say the people were rude, but certainly not friendly. Ironically, my wife wanted Chick-fil-A and I wanted Popeyes. So we first went through the Chick-fil-A drive up and it was about the best service we've ever gotten! The lady taking order was super nice. Then we went to Popeyes and a completely different experience. I ordered a Chicken Sandwich and it was just "OK", certainly not what I've had from other Popeyes. The french fries were absolutely terrible, soggy and cold. So the food was bad, the service wasn't good and the place looked pretty dirty. As a side note, I don't want to accuse anyone of anything I can't prove, but the same day I used my debit card there, I had an attempt of fraud on my debit card. Popeyes was the only place I had used my card that day. I had to put a freeze on the card and get a new one. Not saying it was connected to my Popeye's visit, but strangely coincidental. read more

This review is more for my husband. I am not a chicken person, so I would never chose to eat at Popeye's. But... We don't have a Popeye's near us. My husband knew about this location. This is his favorite place to eat (any location). Food was great, service was great, etc. My only negative is that it was FREEZING in the building, my husband is never cold...but he was too. In November, in any building, you shouldn't need your winter coat on to eat. I am sure w'll be back if we're on our way through. read more

Popeyes Kitchen in Waterloo Iowa is literally the worst restaurant on the planet. Employees sitting in their cars with headsets on for drive thru. I was first in line and last to get served. Drive thru screen doesn't work. When I got to the window the server had to ask what it was that I ordered and it took five minutes to look up my order. I was asked to pull forward and six customers got served and were forced to go around me in a very narrow driveway. They passed me very angrily that I was in their way. I noticed that people of their same skin got served way faster than I did. Finally, an employee asked why I was parked ahead of the drive thru line and what it was that I ordered? I explained my order and that person finally handed me my order. I would like to say that this restaurant is very poorly managed, but the fact is that it is not managed at all; it is a complete circus. They make food for those they care so to do. These kind of situations stem from the top down. If the regional management do not care, then there is no hope. This place needs a complete overhaul or just close it down.
