Good evening, my name is Tanya Dickens. I really enjoy treating myself to Popeyes Chicken on Haight Ave. I love my 2 spicy crispy chicken breast. Customer service is always pleasant. Your store manager Mrs. Meherun always greets me with a smile. I admire how respectful she is to her employees, as they are to her. She is there to help in any area in her restaurant. I came in one day and she was dropping chicken in fryer. I asked her "what was she doing back there?" LOL! She said "putting chicken down." I personally am always happy when I go there and Mrs. Meherun is working. If she isn't I ask for her. The restaurant is clean and her workers are always working and come to the register, ready to help their customers with smiles and positivity. I appreciate how the manager gets things done efficiently and effectively. She asked the kitchen to drop some thighs and legs, no breast and wings. She wants no waste. I came in another day and told her I heard her voice on the drive through intercom. You never know whose listening. You can here she was in a good mood and positive attitude and respectful. We as customers have to recognize the hard work, Popeyes does before opening to bring us quality food. No ones perfect, but I love their attitudes and smiles. You must enter the drive thru with caution. The over filled trash bins and litter throughout the parking lot are a feeding ground for these large ravens. The menu board is not only missing pricing, this location is missing items being promoted and Popeyes staples as well. They are promoting the "Surf & Turf". After ordering it, the cashier informs me that they are out of shrimp. It's only 3pm. By his laughter, it was obvious that he found it amusing that they were already out of the promotional item. Well, I guess these things happen. So I order my normal 3 piece chicken combo. The cashier asked me numerous times what my side order. He then says, "Oh, I already hit that button." When asked what drink, I ordered a Diet Coke. The cashier laughs and says that they don't have any Diet Coke either. He then begins to laugh again. At this point, I canceled my order. I waited to have lunch here today a bit later than the noontime rush - I'd driven past this Popeye's during rush hour a while back, and the drive-thru line was backed up into the left lane of 44/55 arterial traffic eastbound, and it was backed up from the other entrance from Main Street too. Even after 1pm on a weekday, the drive-through was still busy. The food is good - it's Popeye's (if you like it then you know), though it does feel like with your combos you get a little less for a little more these days (a 3-piece white meat combo has 2 wings; didn't it used to include 1 thigh and 1 wing?). The cole slaw is a bit creamier with larger chunks of cabbage (sounds cost-cutting to me). But these are issues at the corporate level, not this specific business. What they need to do is get a little better organized. I could not believe the number of people working (perhaps some people in training), and it looked like they needed as much traffic direction behind the counter as on 44/55. Evidently you are supposed to order on the left and pick up on the right, but there are no signs saying so, and the cluster of poles that would normally be set up to direct a flow of customers were just that - clustered - in the middle. So you have a lot of people mixed together in the same line trying to order or pick up. I ordered at the exact same time as another friend, who was ordering from the other register - my meal came out quite a bit later. But I will say this - as soon as there were no customers at the counter, EVERYONE here pitched in to tidy up, by straightening, washing, sweeping, restocking - whatever needed to be done. So... they've got a bit of work to do here, but this is STILL much better than no Popeye's in the area! read more

Staff managed to botch an order of two things. Got our sides wrong, added drinks and sides we didn't ask for, and then charged $31 for a meal that should have come to $20. When asked to see the receipt they declared the machine was conveniently broken. Upsized drinks to large without telling us because "we're out of all the other cups"(?). Being that this is the only location local to my town, I am forced to go here when I want Popeyes. However, once the Wappingers location is built, I will no longer be frequenting this location. I normally go through the drive thru since I do not live in the area. Employees have been rude to me in the past. The food is good, I can't say anything about that. The major problem that this location has is that they're constantly out of everything. Whenever I go to Popeyes, I have a certain food item in mind that I want. I get there and they don't have it, so then I choose something else that I want. They also don't have that. Therefore, I am limited to what I could choose and I have also wasted a trip there. I have mixed feelings about this location ... the food was okay but the business etiquette left much to be desired. The first time I arrived the line was incredibly long due to everyone wanting a chicken sandwich and because the parking situation is not great it made it challenging to be in the drive thru safely, so we left. On another occasion (trying to get the chicken sandwich) we decided to stop by it was about 6pm I think and when we pulled up there was a lady outside yelling to the cars that they ran out of chicken, it was closed and all the chicken left was frozen. Very interesting. So again we left lol. On another occasion (we are the persistent of sorts) we decided to try again. This time there was no line (the hype for the sandwich has died down) and we were able to place our order with a nice lady assisting and enjoyed our sandwich. Honestly I'm not sure what everyone's beef is with this place. My boyfriend and I went here last night - a Saturday - at 11pm (because everywhere else was closed or closing soon - so already they're good for that) and we had a great experience. We ordered through the drive-thru and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more polite! They (very politely) let us know that they were out of chicken sandwiches, so we got the 5 piece chicken wings instead with Cajun fries. Not a big deal - it was near closing time so it made sense that they would be out of some things. I refuse to take off a star just because they didn't have what I wanted....because it's 11:00 on a Saturday night and I'm getting fast food....I'm not gonna complain, I'm just happy to eat LOL. But we seem to consistently have multiple issues with this particular Popeyes. Last night we ordered from the app. We tend to do this because they are oft times slow, due to understaffing I believe. So we often flex to using the app. When our son showed up to pick up the order, they told him they had given our order to someone else. When our son showed them the receipt on the phone and they realized they made a mistake, the manager said "What am I supposed to do; check everyone's receipt when they pick it up their order?!". He said; "Yes." My son then showed them the actual confirmation email for the order. Even with that proof, the manager said he would have to pay again for another order. I Picked up next day - lunch was ready for pick up as planned. I called and spoke to lead person in charge and confirmed. Great service by all, especially Mylan and Melvin.
