Darn-good fried chicken for a food court. Braintree's South Shore Mall serves up amazing Popeyes chicken! The chicken is fresh, super crispy, and the service is quick. (The same cannot be said for Roxbury's Popeyes, which should be avoided at all costs).

I heard a lot of people rave about the spicy chicken sandwich and thought I'd try it myself! I placed a mobile order 10 minutes prior to my arrival. The pick up station is very clear as there's a large sign to distinguish between pick up and order now. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and 4 piece chicken (white - breast and wing). The spicy chicken sandwich was very good and definitely tastier than I envisioned -- now I understand the hype! I was mistakenly given 2 white and 2 dark (leg and thigh). We did not enjoy the dark as it was on the drier side. Their sweet heat sauce is amazing -- the perfect amount of spice!

Luv that chiggin from Pawbbize! The jingles rings through my head as I plow through my first spicy chicken sandwich, served immediately by the new Popeye's in the South Shore Plaza food court. Savage sidenote: Staff from Chicken Now looked longingly across the court as the line at Popeye's never got shorter, while they carnival barked passers-by to try their similar offering. I felt bad. But not bad enough, as Popeye's has always been a personal fave in the fast food realm, and this unsung jewel is still shadowed enough to avoid the no-sandwich riots of 2019. The chicken is hot, juicy and with that signature Popeye's crunch. Hopeful sidenote: Oh my, Chicken Now finally got a customer! Good for them. I'm not entirely sold of the fanaticism behind the sandwich, however it is very tasty and easily situated in the Popeyes canon. Could be spicier (throw a few Cajun Sparkle in the bag, yo), but still quite satisfying. And it's $4, so there's that.

Date of visit: 01/15/20 @7PM This was by far the smallest Popeyes I have ever seen and the menu is extreamy limited but it is in a food court so its to be expected. I ordered a simple spicy chicken breast but it really was not spicy at all so I think they screwd up the one order that they had which was me the only one in line. The entire staff looked miserable from the kitchen to the front of the house and they did not make me feel welcome at all. In closing however the chicken was crispy and juicy even tho it was not spicy like I ordered. I dont see myself returning to this location.

Waited in line for 25 mins for 5 tenders, the cashier was trying to flirt with me and then I didn't get any of my sauce.

Ask the Community - Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

Where in the south shore mall is this? I could not find it and also I placed a ordered through Uber eats and they couldn't find it either. Is it inside? Next to what stores?

It's in the food court. The food court is on the upper level, right next to Lord & Taylor. As you walk into the food court, it will be on the left side (the side opposite of the restroom). It's the very last restaurant on the left side, so walk all… Read more

With this comes the anxiety that I will discover a mind-blowing place and kick myself for not heading in sooner. Thus, a disappointing experience doesn't hurt *quite* as bad. However, the foodie in me doesn't care about relocation... he cares about food. Lured in by reviews of my peers, I tried the Tokenfire Colada and the Ribeye Steak. The Colada seemed interesting and unique, and the steak looked mouthwatering in the pictures. Tokenfire Colada - This one was very sweet, peanuty, extremely creamy, and a little savory. The thickness kept it from being refreshing, and I am not sure if I would call it boozy either. Usually with cocktails I sip and sip until it's all gone well before the halfway point, like popcorn in a movie theater where the bag is gone by the end of the trailers. Then there was the Ribeye Steak. I don't know... something about one of the photos here possessed me to order it, though I almost never order steak at a restaurant (gosh knows why). The wait for this thing was considerable, more than I would expect for a medium-rare piece of meat, especially when it wasn't that busy. I can only imagine if all tables/bar seats were full and there was a waitlist! Eventually the steak made it to me, but... was it worth it? No, it was worth neither the wait, nor the money it cost. First, rather than being cooked medium-rare as requested, it was more a medium-well, at best. Second, some of the steak was extraordinarily chewy. Third and finally, I found it rather bland, while some salt was used in seasoning, this was very light. The steak came with broccoli and mashed potatoes. These two were also bland, and so forgettable I didn't remember them until I went to upload the photo of the dish. Finally, there is the question of vibe. It feels like a place with light tavern influences. Not at all bad to spend a couple hours. However, as a small quip, the purple/violet LEDs fly in the face of said vibe. Thus, we are left with a thoroughly underwhelming experience where I begrudgingly finished my items because I am not someone who likes to send food back. I am only glad I tried Tokenfire in that I won't regret never trying it.

We ordered Mexican corn, fried calamari, and chicken wings for the starters. We wanted to order the octopus, but it was unavailable. The corn has little seasoning compared to those at Mexican restaurants. The batter for the calamari was so crispy. It would be nice if it were fried clam belly, but this is not a seafood restaurant. The wings are crispy and a little spicy with the Thai chili sauce; this dish was a fusion dish for them. The main dishes are pork shank and rib-eye steak; it might be bland for some people because they use simple seasoning. The pork shank was tender and juicy, perfectly paired with broccolini, which I even placed another order to go. The rib-eye steak (medium rare) was tender and juicy but a little bland to me. My partner enjoyed it since he preferred simple seasoning on the steak. Both entrees were huge. Coming here with an empty stomach is better. It is reasonably priced and offers excellent service from a local restaurant. They need to update their menu

I asked what's the most popular order and recommended the sliders to me since that's what they're known for! I decided on a slider and tender combo that was about $14-15. Don't be fooled when ordering a slider though, they call it a slider but it's HUGE! I usually think of sliders as small bites but this was a whole full sandwich. I went for medium heat and I thought it wasn't too spicy but definitely had a small amount of heat to it. The chicken came out hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and very flavorful! Not to mention, the chicken was also super juicy. I really enjoyed their Birdie Sauce to dip my fries and chicken tender in. I also liked the fact they drizzle the sauce on the slider as well. The sauce was super tasty and paired well with the chicken. It's similar to Dave's Sauce or Raising Canes but unique and great in its own right. I also liked that they included pickles but definitely wish I had more than 3 pieces. Birdies is an awesome place to grab a quick take-out meal or sit down. There are some old-school arcade games (which are free to play!!) that are awesome and give off a cool vibe! There are a few tables to sit down at as well and the restaurant itself is very clean. Overall, I would recommend giving Birdies a try as I thought the food was super delicious!

It's a dry spice not a wet spice the chicken my quarter was maybe a little small for some but it was only 899 for the order so that's actually pretty good in my view. An additional chicken leg quarter is 299 which is also good. It seems to be a zing to the macaroni and cheese and a person who might've been the owner of the manager said that shouldn't be, but maybe that was just me. Probably gonna try the chicken wings next time I come here
