Loud pop music greets you as you walk in. Zauq is to the right. It seemed like a lot of folks were picking up classic American fare: wings, onion rings, other chicken dishes, but I was coming for some Halal food. I got a large rice platter with mixed chicken and lamb. The shredded chicken was okay; could have used more seasoning or something, but that's why they give you white and/or red sauce. The lamb was basically cubed gyro meat, which I enjoyed; I would get a platter of just this next time. You can add as many toppings as you'd like, including onion, lettuce, tomato, chickpeas, pickles, and hot peppers. Make it what you want. For $9.99 (as of 2025), that's a bargain for the amount of food you get. Overall it tasted pretty good. I think if I come back I'm going to try out the falafel and/or the fried chicken sandwiches. The folks are friendly and fast. The whole place, staff and clientele, seemed to be a melting pot of every ethnic group imaginable - Woodlawn baby, gotta love it. There's a Shahada posted above the counter in both Arabic and English, but the food is for everyone and I'm here to say, it's solid. You won't be disappointed.

The line moves at a reasonable pace and the workers are trying their best to get cars in and out of the drive-thru as quickly as possible. Rain or shine, there are people taking orders outside to ensure the fastest service. The inside is clean and they regularly host family-friendly events like bingo or trivia.
