This company honestly has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They will tell you that they pride themselves on customer service but in the multiple months that I tried to work with them, they NEVER CALLED ME BACK ONCE. I honestly don't know what their "coordinator", George, does all day other than ignore his phone and lie to people about making progress on their jobs or calling people back. After meeting him and him giving me his number, I would call him, and it went to voicemail every time, so then I would call the PoolMax phone number and he would answer it and I would say it was me and he would give a big sigh, knowing that he had just avoided my call. They will take tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars from you, then when it starts falling apart, ignore you completely. Do yourself a favor and read the other reviews and stay away. read more

I contacted Poolmax to replace a pump. The pump was under warranty with Jandy. Dave at Poolmax did all the leg work. He contacted Jandy, ordered the replacement pump and arranged to have it installed. I only had to fill out one form. Couldn't be easier. Thank you Poolmax!! read more

I spoke to Dan Cortez regarding the repairs I needed on my rock waterfeature/slide. He referred me to his " rock" person which is Caesar. Caesar came out and asset my job and knew exactly what it would take to repair my rock and slide and repaint it. I had him acid wash my pebble tech too. It looks amazing. Once we filled up the pool Uzie came and did a " New start up" chemical balance. The pebble tech and pool water looks so nice I actually forgot the original color of my pebble tech David did a fantastic job in keeping me in the loop and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction and I was happy on every project that was done. Spent $75k on a pool remodel. Lots of things forgotten and went wrong. Bad communication. Contractors rushed to finish the job and left it a mess. Over sprayed pebble tech all over the tile which they claim is "normal". Told us we had to turn 5 levers to get the hot tub on and never mentioned automation. News flash Dave... if someone spends $75k assume they want automation. Lastly, 12 months later the heater stopped working and they blame the pool cleaner. Owner came by one day for 10 min and then completely stopped responding. It's a $5k fix. We live in the Ranchos in Long Beach where they do most of their business. so if you're in the market for a pool stay clear unless you want nothing but problems. Our neighbors had the same experience. Had a pool built they messed up and had to dig the entire backyard up 2 or 3 times. A very poorly run company that will overcharge your first sloppy work and won't be here if you need them. read more

These guys are fantastic. After having to fire two other pool contractors, Dan and his crew came out a couple of times to really understand the project. The communication with the entire team from the city, engineers, and architects has been seamless and transparent. Poolmax is currently building two massive retaining walls to prep for the pool they're building. They are extremely quick and efficient. Unlike the last pool company, all their equipment is on-site and owned by them, so the cost of renting it is not passed on to us which helps them be much more competitive. I admitting was less than pleasant and frustrated with the position the previous contractor left me in. We enlisted Poolmax as our maintenance service upon purchasing our home with a pool nearly 6 years ago, and while never pleased due to extreme inconsistency of service, I am just now realizing the extent of this terrible mistake. There were multiple times during the last few years where our home fell entirely off of the service schedule for weeks and sometimes months at a time, leading to significant algae build-up and wear and tear on our pool equipment. Dan and Aaron (owners) always seemed so genuinely apologetic and sincere about the fact that it wouldn't happen again, that I foolishly continued with them, including believing them when we were told that we needed to replace various parts at an additional charge. Now that we transitioned to a new pool cleaning service, I learned that without our knowledge or consent, PoolMax converted our pool from salt water to chlorinated!! Our new cleaning service explained that because our salt water filter has not been cleaned in a very long time, that PoolMax dropped chlorine tablets in our pool to make it seem as though all was well. As a result, my five year old daughter's eyes had a severe reaction after swimming in the pool and we may be looking at a $300 charge to replace the filter. If PoolMax has any integrity at all, I invite them to reach out to resolve this matter. I strongly caution you against working with this company. read more

These guys are excellent! Dan is always very patient when i have questions and always seems to have an answer. He always follows up on the repairs, too. These guys seem to care more than I do! Once he asked how my new pump was running and I hesitantly said "good." He asked me to explain and I thought I was being a little too picky when I told him it's a little noisy, I expected it to be just a tad quieter. I hired this company a while back and paid more for there service then I was paying due to the level of service I would be receiving. I had problems with the guy that was coming to clean my pool not showing up weekly, but still being charged. I called them about it and sometimes a new person would come or not at all. I need the filter cleaned and they promised the higher price I was paying would include 3 filter cleanings a year. My spa was unusable due to the filer being so clogged and kept calling about it and was told week after week it would get done next week. It took them 4 weeks to do it. Then last week again the guy doesn't show so I call my regular guy and he tells me he quite because he was not getting paid on time. So I called them 2/13/18 at 9am and told them to discontinue my service, so what do they do but come clean my pool at 10:30 am . I contacted a new pool guy that came over at 5:30 on 2/13/18 and gave me a estimate and checked out the pool. He said my PH was to high and adjusted it and that there was algae build up on the steps of the spa and my booster pump for the spa was full of black algae and he showed it to my wife. All being said I cant encourage anyone to use these people service and buyer beware. read more

Wow, where do I start? Where has customer service gone these days? Totally out the window. Should I go on? Ok, I first called this company on Tuesday asking them for a quote and they told me that someone will call the following day for them to come over and look at the pool. No one ever called me. Thursday I called them and because the guy left me a message asking me that he wanted to come by to look at the pool. I called back and left him a message letting him know that it was ok to come by after 10:30.. Nobody called me or even showed up.. finally Friday he came and give me an estimate and said they could start on Saturday. They did show up on Saturday and they claimed they cleaned the pool at 11:00am. I got home at 1:00pm and my pool was still full of algie. Wow! So the sent me an invoice. Really? I emailed them and told them that the pool had algie in there and they told me that the pool guy left the pool in good conditions. You make the decision if you would like to use this company.. be careful and if you do use them.. GOOD LUCK! read more
