oolmasters was contracted by my pool builder to start up my new pool. This involved getting the pool equipment up and running and balancing the pool water. Hamid did a good job getting the equipment up and running, but when it came to balancing the pool water, he failed miserably. I took care of my previous pool and would test the water myself using a Taylor K-2006 test Kit. Hamid used test strips. He thought the water was fine. I did my own tests and discovered the chlorine level was too high (11 ppm instead of 4 ppm) and the cyanuric acid was too high (120 ppm instead of 30 ppm). I took a sample of the water to Leslie's and they verified these results. Other than a health risk, the chlorine wasn't too much of a concern since it would eventually be reduced by opening the pool to sunlight. The cyanuric acid is a different story. The only way to reduce cyanuric acid is to drain and refill or do reverse osmosis on the pool water. Being a new PebbleTec finish, a drain and refill could potentially damage the finish. Luckily I was able to find a local company (Pacific Pools) that saved the day by filtering out the cyanuric acid. Hamid refused to take responsibility for the error. He has refused to pay for even half the cost of the reverse osmosis. What a disappointment. I called Poolmasters/Hamid to provide a bid on my bi-level lot pond/water feature. Granted, it was in disastrous condition after last year's drought and our allowing it to become "Frog Central" after this year's winter rains. Hamid returned my call promptly. Made an appointment which had to be changed due to illness, and then came promptly. After reviewing the situation with me, I was assured he had "seen much worse" and that my job would not be a problem. He was going to consider the best approach (possibly a bigger filter along with a good cleaning?) and call me ASAP with a bid. That was nearly four weeks ago; not a word since. I absolutely hate unprofessional behaviors, especially from small business owners. Never mind, Hamid, we will as usual do the job & ongoing maintenance on our water feature ourselves. Rest assured that when our Condo's HOA next decides on a pool contractor for our three large swimming pools, Poolmasters will NOT be on the selection list. read more

I had been maintaining my pool for years , but suddenly found myself with a huge algae problem when we went out of town for a few days during a heat wave.
