Went there once. I had two loose tires that I wanted mounted. I wrote a note explaining that I wanted the rear tires moved to the front and the loose ones on the back. Not too complicated. When I picked my car up, they had put the spare on the front, one that had been on the car was in the spare tire well, and only one of the loose tires had been put on. I said, "I wrote a note telling you what I wanted done." The answer, "I don't have time to read notes." Guess what, now you have time to do it right. A friend took his car there for an oil change and they didn't bother to put the plug back in. Neither of us ever went back. read more

Poolesville Tire & Auto is now our go-to place for our auto care. They came highly recommended and they have met all expectations. The people in the front office are very attentive and made sure that all of our auto needs were met. The service people in back are very thorough and do exceptional work. Matt, who handles keys/fobs was very patient and replaced two lost auto fobs, while I waited for new tires to be put on and an alignment made. Fantastic and friendly service. They are the only auto service I really trust. They tell me exactly what I need and are clear about the difference between something that should be done right away and something that is good to do soon but can wait. I went to the dealership years ago and got a quote for thousands of dollars. Took it straight here and they were able to sort out what actually needed to be done (only about half the work), and then did what was left for MUCH less. I regret ever going anywhere else. I was SHOCKED today when I asked them to replace a low-beam headlight on my 2013 Jetta today! The bulb was $12 (normal), but they charged me .3 hours (18 minutes) of the whole shop rate, making the labor for a bulb change $36. I have dealt with them for 15 years, but I will NEVER deal with them again! I feel they have raised their prices to take advantage of all the new families now living in Poolesville. read more

Just an amazingly honest and friendly small town auto repair shop. The owner is always buzzing around helping and giving advice to his mechanics. If there is bad news (major repair) he is likely to come out to the waiting room and explain exactly what and why. The manager is very knowledgeable about all things cars and has a great memory about past repairs. When is the last time your mechanic has driven you home and then picked you up when the repairs are going to take a few hours? Well Poolesville Tire and Auto does i! I've had several instances with a burnt out bulb or leaking tire and have it fixed with no charge. Try to find that in Germantown or Gaithersburg. Stefan runs a body repair shop here and is an expert at what he does. If your car is drivable he will order the parts and then you can bring your car in on a convenient day instead of having your car sitting in a lot for a week. I can't say enough about this place. I recommend it over the other place in Poolesville. read more

Make sure you're getting what you pay for. Verify your receipt reflects actual purchase, they will tell you that you don't need a receipt for warranty when Goodyear says its critical for a warranty claim. Ask for quotes in writing and be ready for confrontation and condescending remarks when you call them out on their practices. The quality of the work is fine, the customer service and pricing needs to be closely considered. . read more

We've used PT&A for years to make our car repairs, but after our most recent experience we won't be back. Our 2008 Honda failed the MD emissions test, and we asked PT&A to diagnose the problem and make the repair needed to get us past emissions. They told us that both O2 sensors needed to be replaced, and charged us $1,200 for what on average should have been a $500 job max (google "How much does it cost to replace Honda O2 sensors). To add insult to injury, as soon as we drove out of their lot the check engine light came back on and we failed emissions again. Needless to say PT&A won't get our business again - they have forgotten what it takes to give proper customer service. read more

Amazing small town service. Popped a tire on my mother in laws car while out on a Sunday drive and limped in mid-day on a Saturday on a tire gushing air and they took us in immediately. Put the car up on the lift (with some passengers brave enough to stay in the car as it was FREEZING) and they changed the tire and put on the spare for NO CHARGE. When was the last time that happened? Next time I need tires I'm going out of my way to come here and support this small town business. When was the last time WALMART gave you something for FREE? read more

I've brought my car here for maintenance a few times with no complaints. When I discovered a coolant leak, I decided to take it a local shop rather than the dealer. That was a great choice. They took excellent care of a rather difficult car and really went above and beyond. They even gave me a loaner car! I can't recommend them enough! read more
