I love how the front desk will ask how Frazier is feeling today, if he would like any treats or food, or a blanket/pillow at rest time. WOW! Such attention!! Once all records updated online, it is a easy breezy check in. The place is immaculate. I especially like how an attendant comes out to greet and bring your dog into the daycare. Our boxer goes in happily. If he didn't want to go, believe me, we would know! When we pick up our pup, he looks tired but well exercised and happy. The best is the report card given (which indicates he is being well looked after) and includes a special pup treat. I have had 2 summers of great experiences and I hope to have more!!!!!! In reference to some of the negative experiences I read, it is a shame they could not experience and enjoy what Lucky's has to offer. Personally, I do not think their daycare rate for half and full day is "pricey" AT ALL! I am from NY and the prices there are a bit higher. Specialty photos are offered and their price is a few $$ less than back home. Finally, regarding kennel cough complaints, it can happen in any environment when dogs are together. Especially when dog owners are careless to address the matter efficiently or wait the suggested 2 weeks after the last cough to re-enter their pup with others. IMO, I believe it is careless to blame a daycare AFTER they warn there was an outbreak. Or to point a finger when your pup stayed only one night in boarding. Symptoms of kennel cough typically appear within 3 to 10 days AFTER exposure, but can range from 2 days to 2 weeks. Lucky's Bed and Bisquit has proven they are a well operated, caring dog care. Unfortunately, cannot please everyone. But to "slam" the establishment foolishly is shameful.

However, after coming home from her overnight "sleepover," she developed a severe kennel cough. As much as I loved seeing how much my dog enjoyed her stay, her health always comes first. I hope Lucky's can strengthen its screening and illness policies to help reduce the risk of contagious dogs attending daycare or overnight stays. I understand illnesses can happen, but I believe taking extra precautions would help protect everyone's pets.

When I arrived to pick my Yankee up I was surprised to hear that their credit card system was not working. I do not carry cash on me and since I live so close by I left my phone behind when I left to pick up my dog. The girl at the counter was kind when she asked if I could zelle the payment when I got home, which I had no problem doing. However the "manager" (Chelsea I believe was her name), apparently didn't like the idea of that. She walked over with a nasty attitude asking me "what the problem was" and told me she would not be giving me my dog until I paid. Meanwhile my puppy was screeching for me and scratching under the gate. Obviously this was not a great way to approach the situation and I told her to call her boss to take my card info and let her know I will no longer be bringing my business there because of her managers treatment of me. She had a smirk as if she could care less, which is probably the case to be honest and that's just fine. And they don't know me or all the business I have sent their way that will also follow me after such disrespect. Such a shame. I used The Pet Salon twice. Prior to using the services, I spoke in detail with the owner about my…read moredog's sensitivity to being put in a crate or in any way isolated. The first service was positive, my dog was well cared for and they did a nice job. The 2nd time unfortunately was very upsetting. After getting the same service, my daughter picked up my dog (slightly late due to the salon contacting the wrong family member for pickup, who was out of town) Once she got back, we noticed that one of his nails had been injured, and had the remnants of antiseptic around that paw. We were shocked to see this, especially when there had been no communications to us that anything happened to him. When I called and spoke with a woman who was either the manager or an owner, she said she would investigate and get back to me. And in her follow up, she told me that "my dog did this to himself" because we were late picking him up and she implied that he was acting up (barking, etc), and then banged his nail and it was bleeding. (as a side note, they were told "who" to contact for pickup, since only I was local that day and didn't follow it. It was 15 min notice, and they contacted me a while after they called my husband who was not in town) Bottom line, there is so much wrong with the owner's messaging to me. Regardless of "who's fault" the late pickup was ... she was clear that they put him in a stressful situation for that extra "wait time". (it was an additional 15 minutes by the time my daughter got there). Their staff ignored the signs that my dog was stressed being in the situation we had warned not to do to him until he was stressed enough to injure himself. This owner's willingness to "blame the customer" for their own poor handling of the situation is a disappointment. But much worse was her decision NOT to disclose that the injury happened at all under their care. Mistakes happen, and had she responded differently, we likely would have continued to use their services. In the end, the owner had the opportunity to take responsibility for their mistakes to ensure it wouldn't happen again. And we would have been a repeat customer. A non-disclosure of an injury to your pet - WHOEVER is at fault - is not only a violation of customer trust but I would suspect state regulations. I RARELY write reviews, especially for understandable mistakes which will happen, so long as they can be discussed and remedied. But this owner's approach and judgment is a different level and I felt it was important to share.
