Extremely Disappointing Experience and Unprofessional Customer Service…read more
In July 2026, our family reunion of over 70 people chose Family Fun Tubing for what was supposed to be an enjoyable family outing. We made reservations six months in advance, clearly communicated the size of our group, specified the number of single and double tubes needed, and requested additional kayaks and canoes. We even reconfirmed our reservation details in the days leading up to our trip. Despite all of this advance planning, Family Fun Tubing was completely unprepared for our arrival.
After more than two hours of driving, our family arrived to chaos, disorganization, and excessive delays in unbearable heat. We waited over an hour while staff loaded the wrong number of tubes, with none of the requested kayaks or canoes provided. Multiple double tubes were also missing, creating an additional safety concern for families with small children.
The transportation situation was equally unacceptable. We were told there was insufficient bus capacity for our group. The one bus available was extremely hot, and the ride down rough, winding, dusty dirt roads was frightening. With no alternative transportation provided, we had to drive 7 of our own family vehicles down the dirt roads. This meant additional trips back and forth later, extra fuel expenses, and filthy vehicles that required cleaning.
When we finally reached the drop-in location, there still weren't nearly enough tubes for everyone. We did our best to redistribute the available tubes to keep the younger children safe, but some family members ultimately had to stay behind while the first group went ahead. After everyone had already spent so much time waiting in the heat, including young children and elderly relatives, we simply couldn't justify making the entire group wait any longer. Those of us left behind waited another 20 minutes for additional tubes to arrive. We were so frustrated that we nearly resorted to using our own inflatable equipment we happen to have in cars just to get on the water (i.e. SUPs, etc.). Thankfully, some of our family members who had gone ahead generously waited for us at the end of the trip so we could get rides back to our vehicles, as the promised bus transportation was not available to accommodate us.
By the end of the ordeal, our family was exhausted, overheated, and filthy, with a drive of more than two hours still ahead of us. What should have been a memorable family reunion activity instead became a stressful, miserable day that put unnecessary strain on many.
We contacted management immediately, provided detailed accounts of what happened, and shared our reservation confirmations and prior requests. Rather than taking accountability, management was defensive and offered excuses. We were initially denied any refund or discount. Only after we mentioned posting accurate public reviews did the company's position appear to change, and staff began contradicting previous explanations.
After weeks of email exchanges, management eventually agreed to provide vouchers for a return trip and reimburse car washes for the family vehicles who had no choice but to drive down the dirt roads. The return-trip vouchers were of little practical value to a family whose members live throughout the country and are unlikely to return to the area. Given our experience, we certainly had no desire to repeat it. Nevertheless, we provided our mailing address in good faith and waited for the promised compensation. Neither the vouchers nor the car wash reimbursements ever arrived.
Our family reunion fund had already paid for the car washes in anticipation of being reimbursed, leaving our family to absorb the expense. We followed up multiple times over several months, yet the company failed to fulfill its promises or resolve the matter. To be lied to about this is extremely disappointing and frankly, shocking.
Family Fun Tubing advertises that it can accommodate groups of any size. Based on our experience, I strongly dispute that claim. We made reservations six months in advance, communicated our needs, and reconfirmed everything, yet the company failed to provide adequate equipment, appropriate transportation, or even basic organization. The subsequent handling of our complaint, including the failure to deliver the compensation management explicitly promised, only made matters worse.
I would absolutely not recommend Family Fun Tubing, especially for large groups or families with young children. We invested significant time, money, and planning into an outing that should have been a highlight of our reunion. Instead, we were left with a miserable experience, additional expenses, and promises that were never honored. If you're looking for an organized, professional, and family-friendly experience, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.
