BEWARE!!!! Pony Express Dental has committed billing fraud! They added to our statement 4 visits worth of visits on the first visit. We were able to come to a second visit, but then due to the pandemic and work schedules have not been able to return. They sent the account to collections for services NOT received. The best part is they even circled in their contract their own death "I agree to pay the fees for the dental services provided". We have paid for ALL services rendered, we have not paid for the future appointments and they sent it to collections. I will say again billing FRAUD! Do NOT get involved with a company that does not have high moral standards and the business practice of charging only for services provided. Also are greedy enough to send it to collections in an attempt to scare people into "pay to make it go away." This is criminal and should be looked into by every insurance carrier and private pay client. read more

Really wanted to like this place especially since it's so close to my house. My husband went first and he came back and said his experience with the staff itself was unprofessional, unorganized, and he was waiting in the lobby for 40 minutes before he even got called back. Despite his concerns, I tried them for myself. My experience with the staff themselves was fine. They were all nice and I didn't have to wait too long. (The initial scheduling process however is booked months out which is annoying) the only staff issue I have is with the front desk women. They are rude and seem belittling. But the dental staff in the back were all really nice and helpful. My real issues didn't arrive until AFTER my appointment I was scheduling a wisdom teeth removal and I was quoted $4000 after insurance... I brought up the absurd pricing and she "took it to her manager" comes back 10 minutes later and the cost is cut down to $2000?? Apparently that is the cash out of pocket price without insurance. The fact they cut $2000 just like that AND the fact I had to bring it up got me questioning. Come today, I went in for my appointment to get 4 cavities filled. I get handed a paper for me to sign saying I agree to paying $765. I said okay this goes to insurance right? No. Okay you guys have a payment plan or something? No. Out of pocket. Today. I went outside to call my husband and obviously we can't do that price out of pocket today and he agreed. Turns out we aren't even in network but they never confirmed that with me or not, and I ask about the price again and say it's too high she calls her "manager" (I'm assuming this is the same thing that happened with my wisdom teeth price) then hangs up the phone and says that's actually the wrong price it's $638. Still can't pay that out of pocket. Ended up canceling my appointment and my husbands next appointment. Our insurance app is telling us we should only be paying around $25 per cavity. This is insane. I've heard from multiple sources they have billing issues but now I know for myself. The fact I had to bring up the cost to them twice now about two different circumstances and they come back offering a lower price out of nowhere is fishy!! Do not trust this place. After reading these reviews too I'm happy I didn't let them do anything further than clean my teeth. From reading these, they sound like they enjoy watching you in pain lol. read more

Pony Express Dental- Eagle Mountain. The Dentist and Hygienists are excellent. The front of the house is also charming. The issue I have with this dentist is billing. We paid for services at the time of service and upon receiving our EOB from our dental insurance it appears that we have paid several hundred dollars more than we should have been billed for. Once this was noticed, I called the office and let them know that it looks like we should be receiving a refund. They confirmed that a refund was needed but did not provide an amount. They advised someone from billing would call me to provide additional info. Ummm, no one called. So a week later, I called back. I was told a refund was on its way but the amount they disclosed did not match what I was calculating from the data I received. I am again told someone from billing would call me...Nope! No call...But I was told that the amount that they have on file as a refund would be 6-8 weeks to receive. This was mid-Oct, 2022. It is now Feb 2023 and I still have yet to receive that refund. I have called several times since and still have not received a call back from the billing personnel. Now, I am a very patient person but I do not do well with being pushed aside and ignored. I would have been more than receptive to communicating if there were things that I was not aware of that we were being charged for however since the 1 person that apparently knows anything about the billing is able to communicate I have been forced to go through the insurance company to try and resolve this issue that way. It is very unfortunate that this has been our experience. We really like the dentist and hygienist. This issue was a very small concern that could have been handled easily and professionally with communication. read more

My 6 year old had the worst dental experience. FYI, my son was calm and brave prior to the procedure. He was NOT crying or hysterical. He was watching pokemon. Dr. Naylor did not apply the anesthesia all around the surrounding tooth that needed to be extracted. My son could not speak due to the mouthguard suction in his mouth. However, he cried for the rest of the procedure. So much that he almost threw up. Shame on you Dr. Naylor for proceeding and not asking if my son was okay. Shame on you for not reminding your employee to wear gloves or a mask. read more

To make my initial appointment I called on two separate days, a few times each day and was constantly sent to their voicemail. My husband eventually got through and made our appointments with Dr.s Allred and Deloach. In the end we were both satisfied with our appointments and each of our dentists, overall this is a place we would recommend. Pros: -Hygienists were quick at cleaning, had good small talk and were excellent overall! -Office/rooms were clean and comfortable -Flexible appointment times -Reasonable prices for fillings -Dr. Deloach was knowledgeable and good at explaining why he recommended certain work be done Cons: -Hard to get ahold of the receptionist to schedule an appointment -After getting a cavity filled no one told me when I could eat again (and I forgot to ask until I was already gone, not that big of a deal though) read more

I would not recommend this place. I went in for a few cleanings and that was ok but at the end of every appointment I was a candidate for extra fixings. They were always trying to upsell something. I was not a big fan of that. On one occasion I went in for molar pain. The doctor diagnosed my molar pain with a root canal without doing any xrays. I was skeptical on his diagnosis and went to another place turns out my filling had fallen out. I could of easily gotten an unnecessary procedure done and paid tons out of pocket for this. I have not gone after this incident as I have also heard of similar incidents from other patients. read more

I took my boys for a routine checkup last year which resulted in a ton of work that needed to be done on my 5 year old. Agreed to the work, paid the bills off. Boys had a routine cleaning in June this year which is covered by my insurance. For some reason, I received a 'final notice' That I suddenly owe $200 from something in October, or so their shady billing statement says. It also states that I'm the patient. Other than my boys having a dental cleaning in June this year, I have NO IDEA why they'd be billing me for a visit I never scheduled or attended. WTF. I hated this place since the first visit. I don't believe my son needed all the work they did but these places will convince you that you need everything. read more

**Update-Back for another cleaning with the kids. Things went great again!! If you haven't tried this place out yet you should!! What do you do when your dentist has a 3 month wait?? Find a new dentist!! I'll admit I thought it was a little odd that a dentist would build in the city center. It didn't seem like there were enough people out here to sustain it. Well I am SO glad they didn't take advise from me!! Scheduling was super easy. They even let me fill out info for my kids and then send them over to have their teeth cleaned while I was at work! How great is that?! No more spending the whole day at the dentist! Beautiful office building!! If you haven't been over to see the building yet then I urge you to go! Jen gave me the "tour". (I was tempted to take pics for decor ideas) I meet the lady that was going to be cleaning my teeth (I forgot her name!!!‍) Right off she was SO nice. Small talk and made me feel comfortable. I was very impressed by how gentle she was. I was asked if I had any pain while she was cleaning and was told to let her know if I did and she would ease up. Explained everything very well to me, included pictures. I never felt belittled or treated like I wasn't taking care of my teeth well enough. I was complimented on the things I was doing well and was explained things I could be doing better. Dentist came in and was great! Asked me about my kids that were there the other day. (Nice that they remembered. They were even seen by the other dentist!) Again I was explained things that needed taken care of. Again I was complimented on things I was doing well. I appreciated not just being told all the things that needed fixing. I was taken up front and explained my treatment plan and offered ice cream. YA, ICE CREAM! This place will put you at ease! Everyone needs a dentist that can do that! The hygienists are all very sweet and are great conversationalists. The last few places I've been they are too quiet which makes me nervous. So it was a refreshing pace. I had fillings done, some of them were a little deep so a bit painful and uncomfortable but they just kept asking to have me let them know if anything was uncomfortable. They numbed me really well but I'm still a Pansy. I felt the urge to reach out and grab the hygienists hand and she was so concerned and caring, she met me hold it the whole time through that particular deep filling! The dentist was so careful with everything and very informative. I ended up talking with the orthodontist too about possible braces because of some health issues coming up with the way my mouth is I get jaw, neck, and head aches. And he was very knowledgeable and gave me some options. I felt so well taken care of walking out of there. I've never had that calming of an experience with a dentist and after many insurance switches and having so many different practices, I feel like they are truly somethin special. Their office is huge with lots of rooms. They have a horse, cowboy theme so they have the cute barn doors on tracks for each room. The decor is plentiful to keep you busy looking at things while waiting but almost minimalistic in placement so it doesn't feel chaotic or busy. Tasteful art and historical articles related to desert and farm motif, and actual stories of the region they are in. The chairs are very comfortable. Tvs (with Netflix!) attached to the ceiling in each room with headphones for patients. That keeps kids, and myself, very distracted while they do their work. The office was so clean! The building is easy to find. I don't mind traveling 15-20 minutes, the level of care is so worth it! Love you pony express dental! read more

The dentist I had was amazing and the people all around are very sweet. It is extremely disappointing to know that they will give you one price in the facility saying that your insurance has been in contact with them and these are the prices, charge you those prices and the send you a bill saying you owe them more money. At no point in the two separate trips there was it mentioned that the prices that they were charging me on the spot for were only estimated. And as I was leaving the 2nd trip was actually told that I had a credit because my insurance paid more for the procedure i had done. I apologize to the girl on the phone because I hung up on you but absolutely unethical business practices on the offices shoulders there. I will be finding a new dentist for the future. read more

I just finished meeting with Staci and Chantel (forgive me if I misspelled her name) and I want to put an updated review. 1. Pony Express Dental Corporate heard my concerns and sent a representative from their corporate office to the meeting. This is an important sign of good faith on their part. It means they care and that is huge. 2. We came to an agreement on the balance due and I think they were in the range of "more than fair" to "generous" in the final number. 3. I felt like both Staci and Chantel listened to what I had to say and empathized with my feelings on the situation. 4. Even before I came in today Staci had implemented changes in their processes to try and prevent this problem from happening with anyone else. Again, this shows that they care. 5. I want to personally thank Staci for all the leg work she did throughout this process. Some of the things I said in my original review came across in a personal way and I didn't intend that. I believe Staci is an honest person and that she is trying to do the right thing. All in all this situation was a mess but the true evidence of a good company is NOT a lack of mistakes rather how they handle the mistakes they make. read more

Not impressed! The office staff leaves much to be desired- unprofessional. PED has more of a corporate feel, so it lacks some of the personal touch you would expect from a community dental office. At first the dentist was friendly and had a good chairside manner. I do not have complaints about the work that was done. When I went in to PED get a procedure done that my regular dentist doesn't do, I was upfront that I would be going back to my regular dentist for the rest of the dental work. The office staff was strangely very resistant and unhelpful when communicating to my regular dentist's office staff regarding the procedure. PED prices are higher than my regular dentist, which raises eyebrows because there is supposed to be a contracted price in place with my dental insurance. Lastly when I went in for the procedure, I signed and agreed to the price and paid the money upfront. I was not made aware that there could be several hundred dollars in additional costs related to the procedure and was hit with a bill I was not prepared to pay immediately since I just shelled out so much up front. I had been making small payments each month and then received a threatening text about my balance. I expressed that I had never been treated that way by a dental office with regards to the unexpected bill, and was concerned with their tactic of coming right out of the gate with threatening collections. I'm not a fan of the dentist and sometimes have had panic attacks at the dentist. I told them this from the beginning so they knew I wasn't relaxed. My husband dropped me off here just for a cleaning. They took xrays and chipped off a piece of tarter. They wanted me to follow them to another room so I could see it under a microscope I declined they insisted and would not take no for a answer. Then on my way back to the original room where I was told to wait for a financial person who was going to come talk to me about my insurance coverage I started having a panic attack. I walked out in the rain without called my husband to pick me up while I was walking home. Never heard from them until a few months later I get a bill and I just thought it was a mistake then I get another bill. I call to find out what I was been charged for because my insurance covers preventive. I was told it was my out of pocket that my insurance doesn't for my different treatments I received that day. I never received any treatments I explained as I ran out that day. They said they would correct it but the idea they charged my insurance for treatment I never received really doesn't sit well with me. read more

If I could do zero stars I would. I have had a hard time since starting my treatment for braces here. I was 21 at the time, and looking back I feel like I was pressured into doing braces through this specific place by the people who work there. It was never suggested to me at the time that I should go do other consultations to do what was best for me, and being relatively young and not knowing what I was doing I started my braces treatment. I was told I was only going to have them on for a year and a half and now I am past that time, despite wearing my bands and always doing what I was told to do. On top of that, I have done consultations with other Orthodontists and they have told me that the work being done on my teeth is shoddy at best and that I should have been done with my treatment months ago. It's always been hard to schedule appointments. I've never been able to get a specific date on when my braces will come off, and now my bite is off and my teeth just hurt. I'm currently trying to get my money back for what I've paid, I'm going to have to completely start my treatment over with a new orthodontist elsewhere. I've paid a couple thousand of dollars and might not get it back. read more
