2021
I'm at a better point in my life financially, but still dealing with a lot of pain issues,so I went back to Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery Jacksonville location for a medically necessary breast reduction to help with my spinal issues and back, neck, rib, and shoulder pain this year. I had to see a different surgeon and saw Dr. Bate and dealt with Beth Griffin. The front desk staff was still pleasant and at first so was the surgeon and Beth Griffin.
I was seen and was given to dos that needed to be done, even though I didn't need to do any of them previously. I was efficient and pro-active trying to get everything they wanted done so I could be seen sooner than later. They wanted a clearance from my PCP,which my PCP wouldn't do unless I was seen by a Pulmonologist and an Eye doctor due to other issues. I, of course, made appointments to get those taken care of. They wanted me seen by my Hematologist and to send records.
I got that done in no time. They wanted me to see a Psych, not to see if I was mentally stable to get the surgery, but Dr. Bate stated, because people get depressed after surgery,he wanted to make sure I had support. Mind you, I was already seen by a therapist, since I had been dealing with PTSD for over 20 years without issue and already receiving medications, which he was aware of.
I jumped on this to,but, sadly, the Psych I had seen said in order to even get that sort of clearance I'd have to be seen repeatedly/weekly and with my work schedule,it couldn't be done. I tried to get referrals from my PCP for this, but the places the referral dept sent me to either didn't take my insurance or didn't understand what the surgeon wanted. I even called around trying to find someone to get this done for the surgeon. Mind you, most people do NOT have to do this for any surgery and most people had no clue why my surgeon would want or need this.
Since I had done my part/all I could do,I nicely asked that since the surgeon is the one wanting this, cna he please send the referral to a psych. Instead of simply answering me, they responded by stopping all correspondence and ignoring me. Then having a manager leave a voicemail. They suggested I got to other places and said "there is nowhere else for them to send me." Well, first off, that statement made no sense and was a lie! They never sent me anywhere! I did everything on the to do list on my own. They didn't do any part of it or send a referral anywhere! Also, you would think that someone would drop a patient due to misbehavior or something. Not the case with me. I'm polite, friendly, updated, and did all that was asked of me. I have every email correspondence, screen shot of every portal message, and chat,so I have proof that there was no reason why I should be treated this way and dropped! I'm completely baffled! They wasted my time, effort, and all the work hours I missed due to doing what they needed me to do medical wise! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

2019
I went to Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery Jacksonville location in 2019,the first time, and saw Dr. Sternberg for a medically necessary breast reduction to help with my spinal issues and back, neck, rib, and shoulder pain. They staff and surgeon was very kind and all I needed was a referral, the consult, and right after the consult, they immediately put my insurance through to see what would be covered and they told me 75%. I then dealt with the staff, Brittany Cherry and then Jess Couch. Sadly, I then dealt with confusion.
I asked how much I would have to pay out of pocket. I was told $1,285.00 for months and months and I was in the process of saving that. However, then out of nowhere I was told that, that amount was incorrect, but they could NOT give me an number amount, because they were unsure of the anaesthesiologist they'd use. Well, unless your extremely rich or a psychic ,unless someone tells you the amount, how can you save up for the amount to pay before they can schedule? You can't. I was giving this round and round treatment for a while. Sadly, the place where I was working separated from it's conjoined company partnership and laid off half of their staff,so this became on hold anyways. read more
