I spent months researching plastic surgeons in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas before choosing Dr. Desai for my breast reduction and lift. I looked through countless before-and-after photos, read patient reviews, asked for recommendations in multiple Facebook groups, and even checked DocInfo and Healthgrades because I wanted to be 100% confident in my decision. Choosing Dr. Desai and Florida Plastic Surgery Group was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I had wanted a breast reduction for almost 30 years. I dealt with back and shoulder pain, permanent indentations in my shoulders from bra straps, and could never buy a bathing suit or bra without serious support and underwire. I was also always very self-conscious about how top-heavy I looked. As much as I wanted the surgery, I kept putting it off because I was afraid of the pain, the recovery, and honestly, the scarring. My expectations about the recovery could not have been more wrong. From beginning to end, my experience was incredible. My surgery went smoothly with no complications, and Dr. Desai has an amazing bedside manner. He completely put me at ease before surgery, and I felt like I was in great hands the entire time. The medical team he works with is top-notch--from the pre- and post-op care to the anesthesiologist, everyone I interacted with was wonderful. And the recovery? I never experienced actual pain after surgery. I had some discomfort, of course, but never pain. The medication plan and schedule they provided were extremely easy to follow and, I believe, played a huge role in how smoothly my recovery went. But the most important part: my breasts look AMAZING. Dr. Desai exceeded my expectations. They are beautifully proportioned, the lift looks incredible, and my scars are already so minimal that you can honestly barely see them--which was another one of my biggest fears going into surgery. His office checked on me regularly after the procedure, was incredibly responsive whenever I had a question, and my follow-up appointments were easy and reassuring. Really, that is probably the best way to describe the entire experience: they made something I had worried about for 30 years feel easy. My only regret is that I waited so long to do it. I cannot thank Dr. Desai and the entire team at Florida Plastic Surgery Group enough for the care they gave me and for how happy I am with my results. If you are considering a breast reduction and lift and are nervous about the surgery, recovery, pain, or scarring, I cannot recommend Dr. Desai highly enough. After 30 years of wanting to do this, I can confidently say I chose the right surgeon--and I would make the same decision again without hesitation. read more

I had my breast augmentation done here and had a great experience. The staff was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Dr. Desai listened to what I wanted and explained everything clearly. I'm very happy with my results and would definitely recommend this office. read more

Waited over an hour past my appointment time. Never saw the doc. At least give an update to patients if you're behind schedule.

DESAI * At our original consultation, Desai talked me into a Double Mastectomy with Reconstructive Surgery, as I am a minimalist. "He couldn't make my breast look good with a Lumpectomy." I expressed to him, I am 60 years old and don't want nor need big breasts. Also, I lift a 125# special needs son daily. Yes, I'm over weight, but there is muscle under that belly fat. Because of cancer 20 years prior and radiation therapy, my right breast was much smaller than my left where the new cancer was found. What Desai promised was, he would remove my nipple on my right side then reduce my left breast to the size of my right. I was expecting B cups. Unbeknownst to me, as no one at the office reached out. Desai didn't show for my surgery, he got a vacation, NEGLECTING to leave any medical notes from our consultation. I GOT the biggest breasts 'I' have EVER had plus 24/7 pain in both breasts and upper arms along with my whole right side. Also, a hysterectomy because what ever happened in the operating room disconnect my uterus from my uterine wall. I was also blessed with a mal-functioning and horribly disfigured body. He did show up to my "Return to Reconstructive Surgery" I asked for smaller breasts, um ... NO, instead I got a dislocated right arm I had to do therapy for. PARKER * I requested a second opinion with Dr Barbara Cruikshank and she referred me to Parker. When I said NO, she replied, "They are the best we have! It's a different office." Parker's answer: "Just tattoo nipples on" all your problems will go away, you will be wonderful! UM HARD NO!!! FALLUCCO * Thinking it might have been this doctor that did my surgery, I made an appointment to just talk to him. Less than 24 hours prior to our appointment, I received a call from his office, "They no longer take my insurance." Interesting as at the time, I hadn't changed, but yet here we are, getting a referral to see him at my primary doctor's appointment on December 4th. Again I would give this company a Zero if it was available. I filed a Better Business complaint. Bill the office manager, FL Plastic Surgery, said they can't discuss things on an online forum so I called their office. Laura who answered the phone said he was on a call but would call back right after. He has not so that just goes to show he wasn't never planning on calling me back. That just goes to show a patient is told one thing by them and then something else. I will NEVER EVER recommend this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm very disappointed in MD Anderson for continuing to let this company deal with their patients. I feel for the other patient, Sheri F. who dealt with Dr. Desai. He told me one thing and then something else just the opposite of what he originally said. Sheri F's gone thru a very difficult time and I'm soooo sorry you had to go thru all this horror. Thank God for Yelp and others who allow us to put our issues in a forum to help other people know what happened to us!! read more

Everyone in Dr. Parks office was very pleasant. I love the positive atmosphere. During my consultation, the wait time was minimal, the information was very clear. I'm so happy to have started my journey, and I look forward to working together to reach my goal! I didn't finish my consultation review, so I'm doing it now after I've had my procedure completed. I would like to say that my surgeon has been very thorough and responsive during my recovery. He's answered my phone calls and text messages, and he didn't have me waiting forever for relief. I find the initial outcome of my surgery to be astonishing because of the condition of my belly and skin prior to surgery. The excess fat and skin happened well before my pregnancies because my highest weight was 309lbs. Even after the weight loss surgery, Even after the weight loss surgery, I struggled so much because it was hard to breath to talk, sleep and sing. Now I feel so free, and I would do it again with Doctor Parks as my surgeon! read more

Please let it be noted this review is not based on the physician care at this practice. They refused to give me an appointment after trying for a month, so I never spoke to an actual provider just girls that answer the phones/chat. I first put in the inquiry online to get an appointment back in December and a couple of days later got a call and she would not take my info or schedule until she said they receive a letter from my PCP stating they feel I should get a breast reduction surgery. I told the person I was speaking with I do not have that however I have recent records stating he is recommending I get the surgery and he was referring me to someone, but they do not do reductions. Also, my co-worker had surgery with Dr. Desai and he comes very recommended. She said they DO NOT NEED RECORDS but the letter. I told her ok fine I will talk to my PCP and get something sent over. I told my friend what happened, and she said no we have the same insurance they didn't make me do any of that until we were about to schedule my surgery we don't need referrals you should call back. So, I did now this person is telling me Dr. Desai is not doing breast reduction surgery but she can schedule me with someone else. But now she is requiring me records and the letter that the previous person told me I needed. I explained to her I spoke with someone at her office and she said I did not need records but this letter which my friend is a patient never had to provide and my insurance does not require. She still refused to take my info and schedule, so I told my friend again what happened, and she said no way I know several people that have gone there and recent they did not make them do that. So, today I tried the chat option and basically the same result and even when I state my friend did not need to provide this, I have worked in the medical field for quite some number of years including new patient scheduling, and the fact my insurance does not require this. They obviously did not care I have never in my life for any reason at any office been denied an appointment and there is no law/rule in place stating any Dr. office can refuse you due to not having a letter. And let's not forget those medical records of mine stating he recommends and would like me to have the surgery but that is no good for them. Plain and simple if my insurance does not require this you can not deny me to speak to a physician and also I have consulted with other plastic/cosmetic surgeons and they have not required me to do this it is not needed and required until you file for your VOB with insurance for approval so I am speechless of their process. Also, as mentioned I did this for sometime and because they want a "Dr. to Dr." referral this is truly not a requirement this is merely an office rule. So, with that being said I want to thank you ladies who did not assist me when I am in pain and in need of assistance because if this is what it is like just to get an appointment than woah holy cow I could only imagine what my experience would be at your practice so no thank you. As a matter of fact you have helped to make my mind up so now I am going to call the other surgeon I already consulted with and tell to please submit my VOB today. Also, I'm hoping someone on a management level does read this review to hopefully make scheduling an easier process in the future for patients. Thank you for nothing...cause that's what your staff gave in abundance. Oh BTW I have copy and pasted this from your Q & A's from Google you might wanna either change this or make sure schedulers honor it. Questions & answers Q: would you accept a patient w/o referral? A: As long as it is not required by the patient's insurance. read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr.Parks. I'm military and was lucky enough to get my breast reduction covered by tricare as well as all pre and post op appointments. The surgery was so smooth and recovery was even smoother. He even gave me his personal cell in case I had any question or concerns after the fact. I cannot say enough words on how grateful I am and will be for this surgery. He quite literally changed my life and how I feel about myself. If you are looking for a surgeon, choose Dr. Parks. read more

I've waited for a couple years to write this review because I was very angry about the whole process and with Dr. Parks.  At first I felt confident he could do a good job on my upper and lower eyes.  I paid the 7,000.00 required for the surgery and later found out they also billed my insurance for over 7 grand.  They did refund 3500.00 after SEVERAL calls. I should have gotten all my money back. The Jacksonville Surgery Center in San Marco is a joke too. As for the job he did after being 4 HOURS late for the procedure and being lied to about where he was (they said in surgery) we saw him walking out with his briefcase, it was a horrible experience.  They also had me sign more papers the day before surgery and back dated them to my first appointment.  date.  I did not get what I paid for, my eyes had large scars even after 2 years, one eye larger than the other and I was black and blue for over 6 weeks.  He had to do a revision on one eye that he had sewed too tight.   I have since gone to a "real" plastic surgeon and have had to have everything re-done. All I can say is run from that office, don't look back and find someone else! read more

I can't say enough about the fabulous job that Dr. Fallucco has done for me. He is extremely experienced and takes the time to listen to his patient's wants and needs. I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Joseph Parks in April of 2018. By March 2019 the right breast had ruptured. The left breast, by May of 2019 was encapsulated. I called to find out what could be done going forward. They informed me the price would be $1,000 for the upgrade in implant. Long story short, I fly from Oregon to FL to get it fixed only to find out during my consult (3 days before the procedure) that it would actually, in fact, cost $12K. MY INITAL SURGERY COST HALF THAT.... Sounds to me like he botched my surgery on purpose. hello $$$$$. Idk about you but an $11k difference in price isn't very swingable in our world. So I had to cancel the surgery and the not to mention the money I spent on a 2 week trip across the country to get it fixed. BIG waste of time and money. I still don't have it fixed and the encapsulation is actually incredibly painful. Highly recommend deeply vetting your surgeon. I literally cry every day about the pain in my breasts + the apperance and I do not wish that upon anyone. read more

A few years back I had a breast reduction done by Dr Desai. He did a horrible job and I'm still dealing with it to this day because I cannot afford to have it fixed. I had asked to be reduced to a size C cup! After healing and going for a bra fitting , in which I already knew i was two different sizes! I was told one side was a size C and the other a size B!!! If that wasn't bad enough, next to the side of the size B breast, I was left with what was called a dog ear! it's large a chunk of meat large enough to fit into the palm of my hand!! It is still there! Dr. Desai seemed to just be worried about a lawsuit and made sure there was someone in the room taking notes! Never offered to fix it for me! It is still quit an annoyance to me! Unaware to Dr. Desai at the surgical center it was about noon I wasn't even fully awake they had me getting dressed, had already called my son to pick me up I was still woosy as I went to the bathroom unattended! My son saw me and was mortified, he said I was gray in color and my oxygen level was very low! I just wanted to go home! My son wanted to take me to the hospital but I insisted on going home! He should have taken me I guess. I guess we interfered with their lunch time or they thought I might die under their watch! I should have sued but I didn't! So I still have 2 different size breasts! Have trouble buying bras! Still have the dog ear that Dr Desai never offered to fix! He had the nerve to tell me to go for a second opinion! Was very rude to me because he thought I would sue. He knew he made a big mistake or would have to be stupid to think he didn't! I guess I had the wrong Dr there for sure!!! If I could pick a zero star rating I would!! read more

It would be most difficult to praise Dr. Ankit Desai sufficiently for his skill in taking 3 seperate failed reconstructive surgeries, and making me feel whole again. I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost two years ago. I had a mastectomy, and several months later began the process of reconstruction with another surgical group recommended to me by the surgeon who performed the mastectomy. Like any woman faced with such an unexpected diagnosis, I relied heavily on the recommendations offered by the surgeon. Yes, I would like to name the plastic surgeon who performed the first 3 very poorly done reconstructions, but I hesitate because he he relocated to CA. I was referred to Dr. Desai by Dr. Vu in St. Augustine with whom there is a corporate connection I believe. The implant that the original surgeon placed drifted out of it's location, and moved down my chest wall towards my ribs. Additionally, the breast reduction and implant placed on the non- cancerous left breast in an attempt to create symmetry, lay flat and without volume or firmness. I had no idea that this was sub-standard work, thinking that I was somehow at fault. In fact I went back to him when the implant started drifting down my ribs. He told me I would have to find another plastic surgeon because he was moving his practice to CA. We shook hands, and wished each other good luck. Then I had the good fortune to be referred to Dr. Desai. He took what was a botched mess and created a woman's chest for me...a chest that I had always wished for wherein I bra would not be strictly necessary. I am 74 years old and have never been able to forgo wearing a bra. There are simply no words to express my appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Desai. You'd be well served to choose this man for any reconstructive surgery. I cannot conceive of anyone better! read more

I originally scheduled my appointment for a consultation about a week ago due to the amount of good reviews I had seen online for this practice. But I have never encountered such poor customer service in my life by a medical facility. Having worked in the medical field for the past 8 years I think I have a good idea of how offices work. I decided to go with another surgeon for my procedure and called this office to cancel my consultation. (2 weeks out) Picking the right surgeon is vital for a life changing procedure. Keep in mind, I paid a $75 consultation fee to schedule. I was told by Brianna that this fee would go towards my procedure if I decided to move forward with this practice. No problem at all, right? Wrong. I come to find out while cancelling this appointment that the $75 is a NON REFUNDABLE fee, no exceptions. I asked to speak with the manger and when I explained to him (Chris) that It was never disclosed to me this was a non refundable fee, he was condescending and told me "it is your due diligence to know office procedures". Actually, no. This policy should be WRITTEN on the receipt, on your website and VERBALLY communicated at the time of scheduling. SERVICES WERE NOT RENDERED. Chris was adamant that his staff told me their policy, and I even asked for the phone call to be pulled to prove it wasn't. He brushed that comment off. Asking for a refund is 100% acceptable. Especially giving ample notice of cancellation. We are in the midst of a global pandemic and for this practice, especially the office manger Chris to have zero compassion and flexibility is mind boggling. He told me that this office was in HIGH DEMAND, if that's the case, then why are you stealing my money when I gave you 2 weeks notice to fill this appointment slot. I have filed a dispute of fraud for this charge with my bank due to SERVICES NOT BEING RENDERED. I will not allow a practice to take my money when no consent forms were signed and no disclosures were given for this fee to be non-refundable. BEWARE of Florida Plastic Surgery Group if you are considering them. At the end of the day, this is only a business out for money with low morals financially. Treating prospective patients in this manner is unacceptable. To the owner of the practice, I highly recommend you sign your office manger Chris and staff up with a training course on customer service, otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure with the staff you keep. read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Desai. I have used him for cosmetic surgery and cancer reconstructive surgery. After 4 surgeries through him I could not be happier. He is very easy to talk to, is willing to answer all questions and his work is that of a perfectionist. Dr. Desai goes over and above in my opinion. I would highly recommend him as having cancer is bad enough but the fact I went through my surgeries I did not feel stressed about the results and knew in my heart I picked the best doctor in town. My journey was so much easier having total confidence in Dr. Desai. read more

Only out for MONEY and RUDE staff!!!!! Made surgery consultation appointment and paid my consult fee.... I needed to cancel my appointment due to deciding to go with another surgeon, I cancelled my appointment days in advance of my appointment date, I was then told the fee ($75) I paid would not be refunded even though I was cancelling in ample time for the surgeon to rebook that appointment, when I asked to speak to the practice mgr (Chris) he was very rude and completely unprofessional, once I conceded that I wasn't getting my money back I decide I might as well keep the consult since I hadn't booked surgery yet with the other doc that I had seen the previous day. Chris (mgr) then said no you can't have your appt back because I don't want you talking to the doctor about this money situation, I told him I either need my appt as scheduled or my money back that was the only fair thing to do, I was denied both... he made it clear he makes the rules and he was going to do what he wanted no matter what was fair or what was right to the patient! so just think of this before deciding on a practice that !!! this is how they treat people clearly money is all that matters not patients!!! I also made it clear I was a nurse and very aware of why fees are taken and fully understood still charging me if I cancelled at the last minute or no showed the appt which I did neither. PM me for a recommendation for a good surgeon with pleasant office staff read more

Dr. Desai and his staff ROCK. I was treated with such professionalism and kindness they felt like family. Breast cancer is no fun, but after a bilateral mastectomy done by a different doctor with many, many surgeries following I decided to try Dr. Desai whom I had heard only good things about. Dr. Desai consults with you while you are still dressed (a major plus). Listening to you and letting you know what he can do. Can not thank you enough. They finally look like breasts. No long wait to see him and even if it is a few minutes his staff is apologizing. I've never been treated so kindly in any doctors office with such a fabulous outcome. I'm a 55-year old male who suffered from gynocomastia for 43 years. So glad I had a consult and procedure with Florida Plastic Surgery Group - Dr. Michael Fallucco is an amazing and highly skilled surgeon. Today is my third week of post-surgery, so I am still healing. I travel extensively and I'm in Europe so just three (3) weeks after surgery I'm able to travel unrestricted. I was very impressed with office staff and assistants, but most of all the result of the procedure. I would be remiss in not commenting on the Surgery center near the Town Center. That was a very excellent facility and helps to keep costs reasonable, while providing a state-of-the art surgery center. Again, I'm just three (3) weeks into healing but I'm very pleased with the results, having "moderate" gynocomastia. You know those commercials where patients get new teeth in a day? I had that experience when I pulled on a tight-fitting t-shirt and I wasn't ashamed of my chest. Once the scars are healed, I'm looking forward to going to the beach with my shirt off after 43 years. What a blessing - thank you! Paul Corbin read more
