Joe's Pizza and Pasta is one of those places I can't believe I slept on for so long…read more I have driven past this spot a bazillion times since we moved to Justin (and even back when we lived in Northlake, which isn't far at all). We'd always notice it, but for whatever reason, never stopped. Finally, we decided, "Let's just go"--and I'm so glad we did. First off, it's BYOB, which is always a nice bonus. The food feels very homemade and clearly made to order (I know for sure the Alfredo sauce is). I started with the bruschetta, and let me tell you--it is not the bruschetta you're expecting. It's different, unique, and absolutely incredible. So good it deserves its own shoutout. I ordered the three-cheese ziti, and it was fantastic. Honestly, the biggest compliment I can give is that none of us left with leftovers. Every single bite was eaten. That never happens. The place has that cozy, mom-and-pop feel, with limited tables, so there's a chance you might have to wait--but it is 100% worth it. If you're on the fence like I was for years, take this as your sign to go. I'd absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back.

I like the gentle soft music playing in the background. It adds for a super relaxing lunch experience. We started off with the fried mozzarella "sticks". They were delicious. Light and airy and their marinara sauce was the perfect compliment. If this sauce is on the meatball sub I'm gonna be a very happy guy! Our waiter, an absolute Gent brought out some homemade garlic rolls that were simply exquisite! Fresh and tasty. A real treat! Of course I had to order the meatball Parmigiana sub. Spaghetti. It arrived in no short order and was perfectly prepared. Served hot. I especially liked the sub. Light and airy and toasted to pure tender perfection. The meatballs were good. I'd argue a bit more seasoning was needed. The sub needed a bit more sauce. I want a messy meatball sub. I remedy this by using some of the marinara from the bread and mozzarella sticks. We also tried the Fettuccine Alfredo. For me the Alfredo sauce was a bit of a disappointment. I like it salty. It was creamed based and needed some fresh Parmesan cheese and salt. I was sitting on a 3-4 star review landed on 4 overall.

We hadn't been since their renovation. Yayyy, Earl's! Not so fast. The prices have gone up quite a bit and the quality, way down. We ordered the Italian Cobb and it was good but a bit sparse - not packed full of all the yumminess it's made of anymore. Nonna's meatballs were the biggest disappointment. They have gone up almost $5 I believe and whoever's Nonna made them, overcooked or microwaved them to death. They used to be SO good! Now, they aren't. We ordered 3 pizzas - the Bianca, the Margherita and the BBQ Arezzo. The Bianca was good, the Margherita was good but a little sparse and the BBQ Arezzo was awful. Like, nobody would eat it awful and that's pretty bad. I don't know if ingredients were bad or what but there was little to no sauce and it was just...bad. So bad that I called and spoke to the manager that offered a free pizza - NO thanks - or a refund. I opted for the refund and because we still have not gotten a refund for the 1 pizza only, I decided to write a review. We have literally been going to Earl's for YEARS and it has always been amazing. I looked past the prices going up because the price of food had gone up but when nobody will eat the food because it tastes horrible or is overcooked and we have spent close to $100, I'm out. Not sure what's going on but they definitely need a new Nonna to whip them back into shape.

The pizza was good, not great but for the price it was a good stop. There were 5 choices of pizza plus a dessert pizza. I actually ate mostly the pepperoni pizza. They use the smaller pepperoni that curled up on the ends. The salad bar selection looked pretty good except for the lettuce. It looked like some browning had started and I was there only a half hour after opening. So I didn't take any of that. Normally I would. I'm giving Mountain Mikes a 3.5 because the price and pizza were good. It looked brand new inside so it was clean and welcoming. It looks like a great place for lunch or to bring a bunch of kids.

This is a pizza parlor chain we used to visit regularly when we lived in Northern California, and they knew it would be nostalgic for me. While the location wasn't extremely close to us (40min away), the interior was very clean, and it was obvious that this establishment was relatively new. The staff was friendly, and the ordering process was painless. Unfortunately, the order receipt machine that relays orders to the back ran out of paper and for some reason even when they replaced the paper the system isn't set up to print those orders stuck in limbo. We had been out most of the day, and hadn't eaten much because we knew this would be filling. 40min had past which we thought was a little ridiculous, and the staff actually noticed that we were still sitting without our food and they investigated. I will say, while it took us over an hour to get our food, the staff was apologetic. They comped our meal, gave us a side of garlic knots which are super delicious. And the pizza, when it finally came out, was delicious and was even better than k remembered it. I hope my experience was a one-off, but again, they were gracious hosts and they made the situation right. Pizza-lovers of TX, I would strongly recommend you at least try this establishments. The sauce is incredible, and the pepperoni cups are what make it Mt. Mikes pizza. I am so excited to see them popping up here, and I would hate to see them go. Some tips: Try the garlic knots or the new jalapeño garlic knots. If you want a healthier option, dine-in and check out their fresh salad bar. Cheers!!

3.5 stars, but we'll be nice and round up to 4 lol…read more This used to be my FAVORITE pizza.Like I would rant and rave about it to anyone who would listen. The only other location was in Oklahoma but they closed it down practically a decade ago, so Denton is the only location now. It's located near/on UNT's campus so parking is extremely limited and there's construction going on around the restaurant. I love that Crooked Crust offers unlimited toppings for no additional price and that there's so many different sauces and toppings to choose from. I will say that the pizza is thinner than it used to be (it was always fairly thin, but still had some weight to it. Now it's practically thin crust or at least it was when I went recently.) I also noticed that the 50% military discount has been changed, but that's to be expected, especially post-Covid. Either way, Crooked Crust is still a family favorite and I'll pretty much always stop by when I'm passing through Denton. Customer service is great at this location also and every time I've stopped by during the day, it's practically impossible empty so service is quick.

When it's fresh, it does have a decent flavor, with a light amount of sauce and a good layer of cheese. That said, it doesn't really have much crust or crunch. It reminds me of more of a late-night flat "cookie-style" pizza. Not bad, just not my preference. Customer service was on point.
