I visited my parents in DFW for my birthday, and as a pizza lover they wanted to take me to Mountain Mikes Pizza. This is a pizza parlor chain we used to visit regularly when we lived in Northern California, and they knew it would be nostalgic for me. While the location wasn't extremely close to us (40min away), the interior was very clean, and it was obvious that this establishment was relatively new. The staff was friendly, and the ordering process was painless. Unfortunately, the order receipt machine that relays orders to the back ran out of paper and for some reason even when they replaced the paper the system isn't set up to print those orders stuck in limbo. We had been out most of the day, and hadn't eaten much because we knew this would be filling. 40min had past which we thought was a little ridiculous, and the staff actually noticed that we were still sitting without our food and they investigated. I will say, while it took us over an hour to get our food, the staff was apologetic. They comped our meal, gave us a side of garlic knots which are super delicious. And the pizza, when it finally came out, was delicious and was even better than k remembered it. I hope my experience was a one-off, but again, they were gracious hosts and they made the situation right. Pizza-lovers of TX, I would strongly recommend you at least try this establishments. The sauce is incredible, and the pepperoni cups are what make it Mt. Mikes pizza. I am so excited to see them popping up here, and I would hate to see them go. The service was amazing the girl at the register was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is family friendly and very clean. The food is not the best I have to be honest. First time trying this place! It's pizza how it oughta be. Dining in was fancy for me with the little pizza stands. What makes mountain mikes pizza stand out is that the toppings go to the edge of the crust. I also noticed one of the workers cleaning the table and sitting down to measure if it was a good distance or not. That's attention to detail. I loved the smell of the place as I can smell that new smell. My favorite. Everything was nice and shiny. Let's hope it stays that way. As far as the food goes I liked the snowy alps more than the pepperoni pizza. The snowy alps had a nice cheese pull and the veggies made the pizza taste more fresh. Overall really great texture and I would be back again. We also ordered the churros. They're not overly sweet which actually makes them dangerous for me. I like how they're mini and I can literally eat them in one bite to prevent making a mess. As soon as I finished eating one id want another until I was stuffed. You can also order online and create a custom order with different toppings of your choice. I forgot to mention that this place has a lot of tvs to watch sports. Not much to say about service. You don't get much when you do the buffet, however pizza reminded me of frozen ones from Walmart. Crust was tough, and dry and not much flavor. Salad had lettuce with brown edges and as shown in photo, bad spinach. Many of items on salad bar out of reach for me. The tip-off should have been it was 12:30 and only two customers in the place. I honestly considered not writing a review for Mountain Mike's Pizza, but i wouldn't be doing the right thing by not writing it, so here it is! It sucks! As a pizza fanatic, i have to judge the pizza as a whole and it just doesn't measure up to the better class of eats as other pizza places. First thing is the crust, tasteless and doughy. No wonder they cover the whole pie and don't leave a crust ring. It's probably to cover up the fact that their dough isn't up to par. The pie also had a very weird taste and i'm not talking about the Linguica, which in itself is a little weird to be putting on a pizza, but ? Other thing wrong, we're tasteless Italian Sausage, small pepperoni and very little beef. The sauce was light and probably would be appreciated by most who don't like a spicy sauce. The biggest problem or should i say the other biggest problem, was the lack of Jalapenos. When i ask for Jalapenos, i expect to get Jalapenos all over my pie, not just a few scattered willy-nilly over the top. Let talk price. OH MY GOD! I can't believe i spent over $35.00 for this heavy, tasteless piece of s... The large pie i got cost me $29.99 and then added $2.50 for Jalapenos, plus the tax took it just above the $35.00 mark. This is just unacceptable for something that's not good eats. I totally wasted my hard earned money. In fact, i threw out most of it cause i just could eat any more(that's the pic i took). We were looking for somewhere to watch the second half of the Rangers game and have a beer. After trying the business next door and walking out, we decided to try Mountain Mikes. I see the commercials on TV and the crispy pepperonis always look gpod, but we've never actually tried one. We had already eaten, so we asked if they would turn one of the TVs to the game, which they did immediately very enthusiastically and we ordered a pitcher of beer. Sipping our beers and watching the game, we saw a few pizzas come out and looked at the menu long enough that we decided we owed it to ourselves to try the pizza while we were there. New to this area Mountain Mike is a growing chain. I got the all you can eat salad bar. It's nothing special basic salad for 10 but a single serve salad is 8. I ordered a small pizza it cost 20 plus a drink and tip a 40 dollar lunch. A bit pricey when buffalo wild wings is next door and an in n out also in the center. The pizza was timely hot and tasty. The staff friendly and attentive. I missed the lunch buffet, which would have been all I needed salad and a slice. The price is a bit high especially with the competition in the same center. There's a location near my job but this one doesn't have the best reviews but I can at least get a taste of what all these California people are into. So the buffet has potential it's small but there's enough room to have a good variety of pizza. The slices are like for kids they need a thicker cut come on I'm not 4 and this isn't a child's pizza I need adult slices. Third the pizza isn't constantly fresh it's a you get what's out there on the buffet and that's it. Buffets have fresh product coming out even if the other stuff is old. They will not make a fresh pizza here and hey I get it. From a business standpoint that's wasting good money. I also get it because the traffic doesn't warrant fresh pizzas sitting out. I cannot put into words how freaking excited both my husband and I are that Mountain Mike's is in Texas, and in the town we live in. Best. Damn. Pizza. Ever. My favorite is the chicken club. My husband gets pikes peak. My almost 2 year old son ate SIX SLICES of a medium pizza. The slices are t huge but that was a ton of food. He wouldn't stop eating it, but that's a win in my toddler mom book. Their ranch is also delicious. The customer service is so good too. It's a bit pricy, but so worth it. I have no problem paying $75 for dinner for 4 (2 mediums and 4 drinks) but $75 for counter service and below average pizza was tough take. I'm a California transplant and grew up with a Mountain Mike's down the street. Since moving to Texas 13 years ago, we never could find anything that we liked as much as MM's or even Round Table. This location is 2 miles from us so we anxiously awaited the opening. Once it did, we submitted our order. We got a 20" 50/50 Everest one side, pepperoni the other. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't skimp on toppings with this behemoth of a pizza. Plenty of pepperoni and the Everest side didn't disappoint either. My only minor complaint is that the pizza didn't seem like it was cooked l9 g enough. Toppings were fine, but the pizza was lukewarm to cool in some parts (it was a pickup order and I live 5 minutes away, so from box to home and serving less than 10 mins). Still, 30 seconds in the microwave remedied that concern. We'll definitely be back and will most likely have it there our next visit. read more

I ordered a half and half pizza and wings for takeout. The pizza was pretty tasty. We got 1/2 Pikes Peak (all meat combo) and half cheese and some wings. One of the meats was linguica, which is a Portuguese sausage and it added a great flavor to the pizza and the pepperoni was the crispy curly type. They tell you the large is 14 slices but they actually cut it so the slices are half of what you'd expect for a slice. Not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind. The cheese half also had a great flavor. The pizza itself traveled pretty well! It was hot and pretty crispy when we got home. The large was $29.99 which I feel is pretty expensive for a take out pizza. It was good but not $30 good. Yes, I knew the price when I ordered, I just don't feel the product matched up with the price. Would I order again? Maybe. The wings on the other hand, may have been the worst wings I've had anywhere. 12 wings plain were $18.99 and no one finished them. They were hot and that's about all I can say good. Its not amazing but its not terrible either. It's what the kids call "Mid". The first bite was nostalgic. I couldn't put my finger on it. Then it hit me. This tastes just like the square pizza slices I had in high school growing up! The Crust- Its thick. Very heavy. No wonder why they cut their pizzas like they do because you will not need to eat many slices to get full. Sauce- I got both the red original and the creamy garlic sauce. Both are fine... There just wasn't any flavor. No zing, no pop. Nothing special. Cheese- Honestly, it tasted a lot like frozen pizza cheese. I know its not, but I couldn't help but wonder why there wasn't any flavor to it. Toppings- They were good. Probably the best part of the pizza. Pricing- These pizzas are really overpriced. I was expecting high end ingredients, five star taste and I feel like I've had better tasting pizza from a national chain for a fraction of the cost. The value just isn't there. So, the nicest thing about this place was the kind of toilet paper they use. It's really nice! Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We decided to try this at lunchtime. I had high hopes (despite the neighbors reviews) and have decided that this is not our pizza joint. First of all, the lady at the register was beyond rude. I asked if I could get a thin crust pizza for the buffet, and she indicated they were too busy, and it would be a while. All while she sat and talked to the kitchen staff through the window. The pizza was really gross. Their crust was chewy and sauce lacked flavor. There was hardly any sauce on most pieces. Most pizza was old. The breadsticks had potential, but needed marinara sauce for dipping. Lord forbid you asked the lady for anything. Even when the pizza was fresh, it still had that chewy texture. The price was really high, and this pizza does not command that. I actually told my husband that I would eat CiCis pizza before I ever came back here. After we ate here, I read the reviews, and it looks like this has been a problem from the beginning. The cookie cutter answer from "customer service" shows it's not a priority to fix the issues. I've been a fan of Mountain Mike's for years. My first experience was in Mountain View, CA, then I visited many times in Fairfield, CA. I recently discovered a new store in Fort Worth/Roanoke, TX. We've visited this store several times in the last few weeks, and the food is as good as I remember from CA. And, the service has truly been amazing. The cheese was loaded on and the toppings were so plentiful which I was delighted to see. The pizza did take a while to come out but that's okay... when it arrived it was piping hot and the servers were very friendly. They don't walk around often and you may have to go to the counter for anything you need... also they don't have hot sauce. The environment is very casual and low key. This is a hard no for me. Went before closing to grab a pizza. I saw some people sitting and eating so I figured they were still cooking. I go in and there's a girl behind the counter playing with her hair and rubber her nose (ew) but I ended up talking to the guy mopping. The two of them were cordial but didn't want to suggest anything off the menu since they were cleaning up. They didn't recommend anything except for a pepperoni pizza. I wanted wings but they didn't feel like cooking or talking about them...I order the pizza and see the same dude mopping go too start cooking. I didn't see him wash his hands or hear it so I kinda freaked out. He just started grabbing pepperonis and throwing them on some dough. The pizza cost me $30 and after seeing him make it, I kinda lost interest. I went home and heated a slice and honestly, Digornos is better than this. The flavor is bland and the cheese lacks any pull even with heat. The dough plain and the pepperonis were spicy. I tried a slice without heat and it was worse. Never again. It's expensive and forgettable. The staff was typical racetrack staff --they really could care less. I do not recommend this place. read more
