I have been going to this recycle center since Altadena recycle center closed. It is convenient for me as I go to HMart to shop from time to time and it's easy to drop off some recycle at the same time. Parking here could be hard sometimes as this seems to be a popular place. The guys here are fast but they won't help you. I can't say anything about their pricing as I don't really pay a lot of attention to it. I think it's okay as I don't really expect a lot. Try to avoid peak hours after work and mid day on weekends. As at all other recyclers in CA, you get more for plastic than glass back so the value depends on what and how much you bring. This place is located on the side of HMart by their parking structure. They do not allow grocery carts to bring your recyclables. Most can be recycled even if you didn't pay a CRV for them. Think about all that waste going to the landfill when most containers can be recycled! I had bundles of these tiny Yukult like yogurt drink containers and i paid $0.05 crv for each of them. Most recycling center at a Ralph's or Vons do not accept them, but this place does! Workers here are non communicative and will be doing things other than their actual jobs to make you wait without explanation. Some days you will just be standing in line for an hour in a transaction that should've less than 10 minutes. I don't blame the workers, I blame the operators of this joint who just don't give a crap enough to instruct these workers in situations like these. Also, you are NOT going to get the full redemption value of each can/bottle because they go by weight, and not by unit. You will definitely be short-changed. It's more convenient for them, of course, and yourself if you don't have time to go to the stations that count your cans/bottles individually. Not expecting a place you can picnic out of, but at least clean the area up once in a while...like a nice hosing once a week. The recycling cans are all dirty as hell and so is the area. I made a mistake by trying to bring a bunch of glass bottles to recycle here by myself. I loaded them on the market's shopping cart and as I approached the recycling center, a worker pointed at a sign that says do not use the market's carts. I get it, it's not their property, so I abandoned the cart immediately and hauled the bottles over. They didn't have parking available adjacent to the center and don't provide their own carts for customers to use. In addition, the workers aren't very friendly and don't communicate. You have to just figure things out on your own. read more

This location is very convenient, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The owner is nice and always talks to people. They moved pretty fast too. Today, the owner told me they will be closing on Sunday, but when he asked me to check my phone to see if the calendar has been updated, but due to my phone's cell signal was very bad, so he has to use my phone to check the google map, but it still shows open on Sunday. My first time at a recycling center. Primary language spoken here is Spanish, but they knew enough English to get the job done. Lines moved quickly. I had 1 not full barrel of Aluminum cans, 1 full barrel of plastic Water Bottles, 1 Half full barrel of juice containers and 12 full barrels of plastic soda bottles. They counted all of the plastic as #1PET at 46 pounds for $62.31. In comparison, a woman in front of me, had three barrels of only plastic water bottles and she received $12 plus some change. The four men working didn't talk a lot. None of them volunteered information when I told them it was my first time. I had to ask them, "Do I need to sort these into different barrels". Would have been helpful if they had a sign saying to sort everything differently by type. One rude woman who cut in front of me, they made resort her items because she mixed cans, wine bottles and plastic bottles together. Parking was available behind the recycling area, where there were barrels available to be used for sorting. They wouldn't take my larger multi-gallon sized plastic water bottle, the kind used at an office water cooler. They have a sign on the wall that said something about them being able to reduce the amount they payout. I didn't read it in detail. Probably should have. I was just happy to get rid of 5 years worth of collecting plastic soda and water bottles. I met 3 really nice women there, one indifferent woman, and one seriously rude woman who cut in front of me and told me to "Chill Out" when I asked her if she could please move a little to the side. She had walked up and stood in front of the back area where I was placing my 14 barrels out of everyone's way. I let everyone who came up while I was there, go in front of me, and assisted an older woman who was also there for the first time. Ironically, the rude woman, who was the last person I was letting go in front of me, actually turned and snarled, "It's my turn next!", when I began moving a couple of barrels from the back, closer to the front. Despite my letting her and the other four people who came up while I was in line go in front of me, I Ignored her comment. People who are that inconsiderate of other peoples kindness, have deep troubles inside and hate. Difficult to know if she was rude because of my ethnicity or if she were just a bitter person. Over all, it was a good experience. I almost didn't come here, because there were some 1 star reviews on Yelp complaining about being ripped off 5 cents, etc. read more

I recycle because I drink soooo much bottled water. I think I drink about at least 6-8 bottles of 500 mL water bottles a day. Since I dont drink soda, I mainly drink water, tea and also boba. Anyway, I have this recycling center I frequent but they are always closed when I go. So I was looking for a new place and found this place conveniently located next to H Mart in Arcadia. It is located on the left side of H Mart building so there is no way you can miss it. Depends on the time you visit, it could be busy or slow but most of the time, I am in and out pretty fast. After they gather all your recyclables, they will have you sign the paper which is just a receipt and will give you cash right away. I am trying my best to minimize the use of plastics and sadly, its inevitable sometimes. The least I can do is recycle so I will continue to do so and come here for it. read more

I got too tired looking at my recyclables in my kitchen. On a Sunday afternoon in May, I decided to come to Ponce to recycle. The line was really short and all the barrels are lined up. We came to this location because it was open early (at 8:30am) & because we got ripped off from another location but who knew this one would be just the same. They have social distancing things in order (standing behind their table (shown in pictures), masks required, etc., Sometimes I would see the one of the guys not wearing a mask though so it's questionable. I love that the line moves quick but the quickness can also be a rip off - they would weigh the water bottles & once they got to the bigger bottles (Costco size) & big milk carton, they would throw some of the big plastic bottles on the already weighted water bottles without weighing it. And only weigh some of the ones they didn't throw in the pile. We confronted them but they kept insisting they did weigh it. My bf and I looked at each other & said we just saw them throw it in the already weighed pile without them weighing it. Also be careful & log the weight you see on their scale because they also rip you off but not logging the correct weight when you receive the paper. Don't be fooled by the quickness because they could be doing it so fast that you don't catch that they're missing a thing or two which will cost you in the end. read more

I went to this recycling center last week for the first time. The guys were super nice. You literally just toss all your cans, glass and plastic bottles into separate bins. Then they weigh them. The whole process shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. There is an area right next to the business where you can park so you don't have to walk far. They pay you cash. Oh and bring disposable gloves with you because you may have to separate the blue bins and they are kinda gross. I wouldn't touch them bare handed. read more
