Easy to pull in and load up the cans and bottles. They are done by weight, which I was concerned with at first because I was worried I would get less than my $0.05 per item. I had brought about 14 bags of 50x plastic bottles and 4 bags of 50x metal cans, which would have come out to around $45 in total deposits that I paid. I stopped recycling for CRV as a small side hustle due to long waits, the dirtiness, and minimal returns. My husband then saw the reviews on Yelp for this place and we tried it out. It's true that they don't really clearly show you their calculations but for me, it's cleaner, fast, and the people are overall friendly. It's more than me not recycling with them and throwing it in the blue bin at my living place...so I don't mind if they round down. read more

Use to DREAD going to recycling centers. Use to go to Sunset recycling on Atlantic near Ralphs and the are SOoo bad! Long lines, bad customer service. So I decided to try somewhere new.. Omg.. SO different experience! There was 1 staff (I believe his name was Arturo) and he was SOooo pleasant! I went on a Wednesday around 3.. Was not busy at all, but he was so helpful and pleasant! They accept ALOT more items where Sunset Recycling wouldn't. They even have a little hand washing section with soap and paper towels!! I trauma of going to a recycling center is over! Global warming is a huge issue and throughout the pandemic, I've realized how much waste I've created through plastic pollution. Monterey Park has made recycling plastic a consumer's issue which led me to Evolution Recycling. Recycling plastics that do not have a "CA CRV" label are harder to recycle, but Evolution Recycling gladly took my weirdly shaped Recycling Code 1 (PETE) plastics that are used for packaging fruit. The transparency within Monterey Park of how plastic is actually recycled is very difficult to find online, so rather than throwing plastic into my garbage bin and wishcycling (believing everything can be recycled), I'm doing my part to recycle at the source. I'm recycling to reduce plastic pollution and make our community a greener and cleaner environment for future generations, so I can't speak for their payout rate. **RECOMMENDATION to CUSTOMERS**: Please recycle plastic, aluminum, and glass separately at home. It makes the jobs at these recycling centers easier and less stress. And if you're going to recycle, might as well put 100% effort because plastic, glass, and aluminum are not recycled in the same way. If you want to go the extra mile, rinsing bottles and taking off labels and bottle caps makes it more likely for the plastic to be recycled. :) But either way, I appreciate you for making a change and recycling :) Evolution Recycling has a convenient, easy access parking lot. I came here on a Saturday and the man that works there is super friendly, efficient, enthusiastic, and helpful. Even the customers that recycle there are super helpful. Each customer loads their glass, plastic, or aluminum in separate bins. The bins with holes are used for aluminum or plastic. The bins without holes are used for glass. Everything is paid by weight and once it's weighed, you sign a form and get paid. It's pretty simple and the staff at Evolution Recycling make it fun. Bags and bags of aluminum cans and plastic bottles over a few years are now taking up too much space in our backyard storage shed. Decided to go to Evolution Recycling after reading all of the excellent reviews. The good reviews are spot on! 5 stars!!!!! I recycled my aluminum cans and bottles on a Tuesday morning, and I needed to do two trips since not everything fit in the car the first time around. For both trips, there were only about 2 to 4 customers sorting their recyclables. There were also plenty of sorting baskets so I did not have to wait at all to sort and organize my recyclables for weighing. When it was time to weigh the aluminum cans and plastic bottles, the staff member was very friendly and nice. He made sure to point out an area where there's hand soap, water dispenser, and paper towels available for washing one's hands. Pretty cool that I was able to drive home with clean hands! Both trips ended with cold hard cash in my hands for my recycling efforts. Thanks go Evolution Recycling, there's now plenty of space in our backyard storage shed. A few years of stored aluminum cans and plastic bottles netted me over $130! I came here because the recycling center near Ralphs was randomly closed. My dad normally takes the recycling but I had to this time. I found this place on yelp and took my recycling here. Stood in the line and was told I needed to separate the cans, bottles and paper. It was fine but got a little messy. The guy working there was nice. Evolution Recycling receives my highest praise for being one of the most convenient and accessible recycling centers in the San Gabriel Valley. After a terrible experience (over 2 hours wait) at a certain recycling center behind Ralph's on Atlantic Blvd, I yelped for a better location. At first, I was a bit skeptical... Evolution Recycling's rating was almost too good compared to the other centers in the area. But now, I'm a believer and I will never go to another recycling center and waste my precious time. The parking lot is spacious. There are plenty of huge containers to transport my bottles and cans from my car trunk into the building. The staffs are super patient and helpful. They don't talk down to me as if I'm suppose to be some expert in the various sort of recycling materials. I am in no way an expert recycler... unlike many of the other people I've met in line at the other recycling centers. Some of these people, with more bags than their hands can carry, come in the wee hours of the morning to wait in line before the centers even open. How do you even collect that many cans and bottles? And where are you holding 'em? Anyways, I digress. I have never needed to wait for more than 10 minutes at Evolution Recycling. The staff work quickly through to get everyone in and out. I read some other reviews complaining about how some of the glasses and bottles are not credited. Honestly, I am just trying to do my part for a cleaner earth and hope to earn a cup of joe or boba while I'm at it. I usually just have them sort through the more iffy glass bottles. If it doesn't have the CRV printed on the bottle, the glass will most likely not earn you anything. But if you're a die hard recycler and every little penny matter in this side hustles of yours, maybe you want to go somewhere else where they are less scrutinizing. Note: Lunch is 12 to 1PM! My favorite go to place to recycle in Monterey Park. I always get there when they open to avoid most of the crowds. It's so easy to sort everything in their big bins and they take glass. I have taken my CRV items before to other recycling centers. But they were either completely out of the way, extremely inconvenient for me, or had really bad and crammed parking. Today was my first time taking my CRV items to Evolution Recycling. I researched recycling centers for CRV items throughout the San Gabriel Valley area, and after reading good reviews about this one, I decided to try it. I have to admit that it is still a little bit out of my way. But it is still a much better location compared to the recycling center that is right by the 710 freeway in Alhambra. I was not disappointed at all. I came at around 8:15 am this morning, and parking was completely stress-free. It was such a breeze to drive in, and there was still plenty of room to turn my car around. This isn't typical of all recycling centers, which can have super crammed parking and which require people to back in or back out. The guy at Evolution Recycling opened the gate promptly, let me in, and handed me the plastic crates for placing all my recyclable items. Then he weighed my items and gave me $6.72 for recycling my items, which is perfect for a small lunch or a coffee. I am really grateful for everyone else's Yelp reviews about this place! This recycling center is so fast! I came over to this one after experiencing a long and slow line from another recycling center close by. They also have decent parking and space for you to sort your bottles, cans and glass. Its a plus that the staff there are friendly as well! They have signs that disclose their hours and how much you receive per pound. Their new hours are from 9-4:30 and they are closed off for lunch from 12-1. The site has plenty of bins for you to put your bottles and cans. There is decent amount of traffic coming in and out, but as I said earlier, they are fast! I am definitely coming again to recycle my cans and bottles and on the side you receive money back for doing so! read more

I love recycling here. The owner is such a nice dude and very friendly. This place is one of the best recycling centers in the area especially in terms of time. Everything is weighed here. There is a picture posted already on the amount per pound. It's usually a very quick process. You come with your things and sort them out into the bins they provide. He weighs them and then you get cash monies. I normally go on the weekdays so it's never been crowded. Also you don't need to insert the bottle one by one in the machine which I find really slow and annoying. It reduces the amount of you touching the dirty recycling with the garbage juices. And the place provides hand sanitizer. It's the little things, am I right. They only accept bottles that have the recycling symbol on them. The nice thing is that you can crush your bottles when you turn them in so you can make less frequent trips. They also except glass with the same symbol, but sadly no soju bottles accepted. And all cans are accepted. Make sure you empty all the liquid out of the bottles to avoid wasting time because they will then check all your bottles for water. But recycle, get some cash for coffee and save the planet. read more

Cleanest recycling place I've ever been considering they have to take dirty bottles thats been fished out of God knows where all day long. All the other places have bins that make you want to bathe in lysol afterwards. I found this place because that other nearby recycling place @ Ralph's on Atlantic wasn't taking any more plastic (on account of those little old ladies individually inserting like 8,000 mountainous bags worth). I only had 2 bags that I wanted to weigh but the guy wouldn't take it. The guys who work there are always in a foul mood anyway so I thought it's time to find an alternative. Glad I found this place! I arrived and to my dismay found out it was just closing for lunch. I politely asked the guy if he could process mine since I only had two trashbags worth. Since it was all sorted, he accommodated.
