Absolutely terrible service. I just got done waiting over a half an hour for someone to give me the keys to my truck and I was the only customer there. People would walk by and tell me I need to wait and they weren't even doing anything. I would suggest going somewhere else. read more

I was initially pleased with the service provided until one month later when I needed to remove the wheel and realized the lug nuts were so over tightened I could not remove them with my lug wrench or my 1/2" impact gun. The only way I could get the nuts off was with an 18" breaker bar with a pipe added for leverage. Furthermore they torqued my locknut so tight it broke my key. When I brought this to their attention they did not inspect the torque or offer any solutions other than paying $130/ hour to fix the problem they created. I just was passing through Springfield for work on a Friday night and got a screw in my tire on the way there. I called up to pomps and lucky me, they have my exact runflat Perrelli tire and he can get it in by the next day. Russ orders the tire for me and has it waiting. I'm only in town for one day so this is really helpful. I drive over the next day (which is a Saturday) and they have the tire there but tell me that they're too busy to do the work! Well that's because they close at noon on Saturdays! So myself drove there, as well as my mom as a backup, and had to turn around because they couldn't get me in as promised! It takes all of ten minutes to do a tire swap! You don't even have to pull my vehicle in the garage! Everybody wants to work bankers hours but no one wants to work the long hours to make the money! Basically they get ya on the hook for business at their convenience and then send you on your way. read more

I took my truck in to have the oil changed and the brakes checked. They charged $1,000 for brake work, which was needed, but they never bothered to change the oil. After picking up the truck, I realized the oil hadn't been changed. I called and asked about this was told they must have forgotten. But there was no effort to make the matter right or even schedule an oil change. Considering I just spent $1,000 with them, I'd hope to be treated better. read more

Had purchased tires for my wifes car in 2020 and felt like it was a good experience. Today I called for a price on a full set of tires for my 2016 BMW X1 28i. Guy asked what size tire I needed and I new they were 225/50r/18 size but when I told him that he kept saying there another number in the size. So I ask "can you pull up the car and get me what the OMM calls for it". He replied "If I knew what car it was I could". I told him again the year model and was told BMW does not make my model. At this point I just replyed I see why there is a 2 star rating on yelp and I would go elsewhere to get my tires. Logged onto Sam's Club and pulled my year, make, and model of my car and found my tires. Vary poor customer service and would not recommend to my wrost enemy. read more

I needed 4 new tires installed on my Jeep Liberty in which I was able to order what I needed at a reasonable price. I also was having trouble w/ the speed sensor on the driver's side front wheel. The Jeep dealer was stating they could not look at the problem until the tires were replaced (Belt exposed on one of the tires). Pomps repaired this issue at a price much better than the dealer would have completed the work for as I needed a new wheel bearing as well. Everytime I do business with Pomps I walk away feeling like I robbed them. That's how good the service would be however not at the Springfield location. I needed 8 new tires but the bald guy with glasses gave me such a hard time . I ended up just buying a couple to make it to another local dealer. He seemed like a manager but was sooooo freaking difficult to me . He ruined my day and I will never visit this location again read more

I pulled into Pomps with tire issues. They explained the problem and they were fair and gave me my options. I was Impressed enough that a few months later when my car began making strange noises I pulled in thinking the worst. They found a minor issue and fixed it straight away. My wife was in Springfield for a convention this week, and got a flat tire in the hotel parking lot. She had the car towed to Pomps to get it fixed. They found the puncture and fixed the tire for just $25 dollars! I can't tell you how pleased I am with their honesty and excellent customer service. A woman alone and out of town is a sitting duck for some repair places. They could have easily told her that she needed a new tire, but didn't. She told me that the shop was clean and that Seth Weber was friendly and professional. I'm sorry to say that I don't believe that this would have had the same outcome in downtown Chicago.
